Getting files off an XP comp from a Vista comp

SkatDarkstarSkatDarkstar Registered User regular
So I recently built a new computer, and it's wonderful, but I need to get all my files off my other computer to repopulate my new computer. My new one is running Vista Ultimate 32 bit, and the other is running XP professional. I have them both on a network, and have installed the LLTD thing on the XP computer, and it shows up in the Vista's network map. I'm able to connect to the XP computer and view the shared folder, but not the folder on my SATA Drive which has all my music and what not. When I try to open that folder, it says that I need to check the spelling of the folder name and try again, but I'm clicking on it from the windows menu, not spelling it out in a domain name type situation. I think thats all I need to include, if anything else needs to be explained, I'll be happy to add it, thanks in advance for any help

How to do it is :

Go one level above the folder you want to share (if you want to share c:\music, go to c:) and right click on the folder. Go to Properties. On the "Sharing" tab, choose the "Share this folder" option.
