Also, MC at the *end* of vanilla could be cleared in 3-4 hours... Naxx at the *beginning* of this expansion can be cleared that quickly... Imagine how fast it'll go at the end.
Mmm we do regular 25-man clears in four hours on Tuesdays, and alt/pug clears are approaching that speed too. We finished last night around 12:30 EST and I know we didn't start at regular raid time (8 EST), maybe a half hour or hour later, even.
MC even at the end of vanilla WoW took us two nights or a long Sunday. That was with undergeared bads and people autofollow AFKing though.
Really? We used to do a Saturday morning run for MC where you'd have 15 or so our raiders, 10 or so of the F&F and the rest were friends of friends, pugs from the server and we still could get it cleared in a few hours.
It might have gotten down to that at the end but I've blocked it out?
But yeah if it weren't for horrible Malygos lag on Tuesdays and wanting to leave Sarth up for other nights to practice three drakes we could clear everything on the first night. It's weird.
The slimes do pre-patchwerk, but they respawn based on when grob gets to the platform overlooking the room. If you actually wipe on patchwerk you will most likely have to reclear them unless you used some kind of wipe recovery. I haven't seen anything else respawn but we haven't had to butt our heads against a boss so long that stuff would.

Well it's only two pieces of an entire set that would be available, a smaller piece and a bigger piece if they follow the trend from the currently available tokens. The other gear? I don't think it will be so omgwtfbbqm8 awesome that being able to get it from the badges you got from Naxxramas will make it ridiculous.
Its not 2 pieces of tier gear though. Assuming they follow the same model you'd be able to buy the tier 8.5 legs and shoulders and the tier 8 hands and chest, not to mention the cloak, bracers, feet, neck, waist and assorted other items. You could basically have almost a full set of normal/heroic Ulduar gear the moment the patch released just because you stacked emblems and given that you can get 20 emblems a week if they take longer than a couple months pretty much everyone could buy it all.
It does if you don't kill the boss you're clearing toward.
With the exception of the slimes right before Patchwerk's room and the gauntlet between Noth and Loatheb, the only way to get any trash in Naxx to respawn is to empty the instance of players for a half-hour or so. Core Hounds and Lava Surgers (I think) kept respawning up until you killed Magmadar and Garr.

I think the surgers were the rock dudes. Ah Magmadar....he who first taught us not to stand in poo.

I didn't go. I like to sleep in on Saturday mornings. And I had my hammer of Rags and the T2 skirt. And I trained enough Paladins in that place.
I kept going out of habit and because I really wanted Stormrage leggings. I was feral and kept losing them to the endless stream of temporary new "resto" druids who would join our guild or the other guild we were allied with and show up to a few raids then disappear.

I'd probably be blocking too if I didn't fondly remember that those nights also meant we'd do all of BWL (and possibly Ony or a couple bosses in AQ40) in the same night.
I'm more talking about the level of tedium than a direct comparison.
At least the challenge level has been artificially raised (600+ latencies) so that people do occasionally die. mirite?
Pfft...you could raise the difficulty in MC by using the following alternate strat for Baron:
1. Getting the bomb makes you "The Hugger."
2. If you get the bomb, you attempt to kill as many people as possible.
3. Dead people only count as scored points if you do a /hug emote to the victim before they die.
4. The MT isn't worth any points.
5. Two bonus points for surviving the bomb.

Bragging rights only. The record was 13 points. Scored off of 5 kills and surviving being the bomb 4 times.
Every hour stretched into three, every core hound pack resurrected again and again...
I still wake up screaming at night, shouting "Loot the dog!" and I still get kinda freaked out by the color orange.
Riz is blocking. When we were still clearing MC with mains it was down to a 3 hour clear easily, and a 2 hour clear if we put effort into it.
It's not uncommon. Many victims of MC develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

What's more pathetic is a few friends and I went into MC the other day with our 80's and still had problems with the core hounds when someone pulled multiple packs at once and we didn't really have much AE, so it was just endless respawn. >.>

I'm pretty sure that Dante described that as a circle of hell.
Heh last week we did MC with a handful of 80s and they pulled Magmadar and all the packs at the same time. So many puppies!
The best thing about those packs was padding the damage meters as melee by continuing to attack the dying dogs while the RL yelled at people to knock it off and get to the next pack.
Goddamnit. I've been really busy with RL so I missed the previous chat thread almost entirely and decided to "catch up" by ignoring it and leaping headfirst into this one. But I was bored tonight so I read the last ten pages of it anyway, and I missed a girls on the internet discussion! How could this be! So I reply now.
Alot of chicks seem to play healers. Not all, though. Riz doesn't. My guild leader's wife plays a mage, too.
Riz is a holy priest now.
Guilty as charged. I raided as a feral druid for all of vanilla WoW, and a warlock through BC, but by the end of BC I was quite tired of our guild playing musical healers, and I wanted to be able to respec and do something different rather than respec and do worse DPS hitting different hotkeys. I spent a lot of time in BC healing on my druid and then shaman alts and at the last minute decided to stick with the priest.
Healers - The Mother Instinct
Rogues - They like to be lithe and sexy
Mages/Boomkin - They like the flash
Hunters - Like a mage, except they get to have a pet
Warlocks - Sadistic
Women don't like to play:
Tanks - Unless they are built like one, or are a in other ways manly (cursing, prefer women mates, etc)
Shaman - I have yet to meet a female shaman
Feral Druids (cat) - I have yet to meet a female kitty druid
I've been playing for a while. And you should note that my wife loves her dk TANK, and fits into the first part of the tank description. If you tell her I said this, I will haunt you (after she kills me).
Horde females (irl) tend to be blood elves or undead. Undead will almost always be older toons (pre-BC), and blood elves newer toons (post-BC).
And while it sound sexist what I have posted, I found it to be very true in Everquest as well. I started that in 1999 and played till I got into WoW.
It's funny because it's totally false. All of the examples of "women don't like to play" I can find examples of just by looking at my own guild.
...by looking at ME, you mean? Also spent quite some time in BC tanking on my paladin. But yeah other females in the guild break that list too. Old MT was female, several female shamans. I was the only female kitty druid though.
Obviously you're all wrong, and real-life women exclusively play male tauren. Any exceptions aren't really exceptions, they're just men with extremely clever voice modulation applications.
....my druid, my first character to 60 and main for years, was a male tauren.

I'm a gentleman playing a female tauren. Probably the last character I will ever roll (especially with the renaming/lookchange thing... which I more than likely will never use).
I had a thought. These occur on occasion, sometimes with pain.
I don't like the vendor window for buying badge gear. If I don't know the name of the gear I want off the top of my head, I have to mouse over the ones that look like they could be plate maybe, so I can find them.
I'd rather be able to arrange the vendor display by equip location. While they're at it, put the dressing room window in there to, with a comparison to what you're currently wearing. Click something in the list, it shows what it looks like and shows which stats you lose or gain compared to your current item.
I just hate a page with 10 items where the icons mean nothing to me. It's ugly.
At our current speed we typically clear 2½-3 wings in one night. And the speed just keeps going up.
edit: 3-hour raids twice a week; 4 hours on Sundays.
Yeah, we usually get 3 wings of 25man in a 3 hour raid, too. It's pretty fast and I like it that way. We actually got 3½ wings on our 3 hour raid Wednesday.
Also, 10man naxx we clear in 3 hours.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
People on DI, is it more profitable to prospect ore if you have large quantities? Or just throw the ore on the AH?
I have so much saronite, it's ridiculous.

So I'm sure every server has its share of drama
But this one takes it that little bit further
Guy known as Lotusgirl raid leads a pug into Naxx, they get to Heigan, he makes a rule before the fight starts
If you die on the fight, you don't get to roll on loot
So 6 people die but they kill Heigan, Demise drops and a feral Druid who died but is the only person who could use it rolls. Lotusgirl then shards it in front of his face and laughs at him.
Cue epic forums drama; 13 pages and going strong, contains every omfg drama thread cliche known:
Not a thread I can tolerate reading 13 pages of, but that really is a retarded rule, especially with the lag as of late. Even if they didn't have lag, shit happens and even the most attentive people can die on easy bosses. Just the other day I died from a void zone on KT despite never doing so before, and it was right at the start. So I got to sit there dead the whole time feeling like an idiot.
On the other hand, this is the sort of risk you take running with pugs. If he's running it, he has a right to make his own rules, as ridiculous as they might be. Though they really need to be stated at the beginning so people know what they're in for. If that rule had been made clear from the start and they still stayed, there really wouldn't be anyone to blame but themselves. Making up rules halfway through is dumb because by then you've got saved people so they don't have much of a choice.

Just kind of wanted to point out what a dumbfuck this guy is, people actually boycott his raids now thanks to the attention it garnered
