Drawing Tactics
While we can secure further sources of food and fuel, certain biological... limitations provide us from bolstering our numbers quite so readily as our wayward creations. We will do what we can to rescue any survivors. Choosing A.
President Gaius Baltar (Maddoc) must choose: A) -1 Fuel, -1 Food, +1 Population. OR -1 Morale.
Before making the jump to escape the Cylon attackers, Gaius Baltar orders a mission to rescue survivors of the attack on Caprica. The mission is a success, though it requires an adjustment of the rationing of supplies available to the fleet.
After Crisis: Activate Raiders, Advance Jump Preparation
The three fore Raiders attack Apollo!
Galactica: Hangar Deck and Armory damaged, no boarding parties.
Nuke Tokens: 1 remains.
Quorum Cards: 1 in hand.
Ship Reserves: 8 Vipers and 4 Raptors available.
Characters: Admiral William Adama (Rend) - Weapons Control, 2 cards in hand.
Lee "Apollo" Adama (Darian) - Hangar Deck, 4 cards in hand.
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace (abotkin) - Hangar Deck, 2 cards in hand. President Gaius Baltar (Maddoc) - President's Office, 6 cards in hand.
Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic) - Administration, 8 cards in hand.
Space:
All Clear.
Special Rule - Accept Prophecy
Keep this card in play. When a player activates "Administration" or chooses the President with the "Admiral's Quarters" location, increase the difficulty by 2, then discard this card.
Should it come down to it, Representative Zarek can make "creative" use of the survivors.
Now he wants me to ask of these brave souls to work as slaves to produce the fuel to move his government supplied frak house?
No.
Representative Zarek would do more for the fleet as President Zarek.
Activate Administration, choosing myself.
Friends in Low Places activate to lower the difficulty by 2
Gaius, I sincerely suggest you spend some time as a maintenance technician if you'd like to avoid seeing your title reduced to Prisoner Baltar. You're one of the two people who has any ability to do so and you're far more likely to pull a repair card than Starbuck with your two draws a turn. Nevermind that Starbuck has the important job of defending the fleet instead of attempting to secure further power. Further, it keeps you the frak away from the resources where you've made some horrible choices so far. If I were you I would work hard to convince us that your poor choices were simply mistakes rather than malevolence.
I really suppose I should develop my case more coherently but I think I'm just going to assume anybody paying attention is seeing the same things I've seen.

Well, I see little reason to overextend myself in any heated election struggle.
Furthermore I have no reason, for the time being, to believe that the good Representative Zarek has anything but the noblest intentions for these actions.
Admiral Adama glares at Zarek with narrowed eyes. "Get him on the secure line."
"Yes sir..."
Moments pass. "Is there a problem?"
"Admiral, it seems he's refusing the secure line. He says... he says it's for the good of the people."
Adama sighs inwardly, looking up sternly. "Put him on."
"Commander Adama, greetings. I hope you'll support me in my run for President in the upcoming election."
"Mr. Zarek, I'm sure you will make a fine president... but it is the policy of this military not to officially support any candidate over another. I'm sure you can understand the... delicacy of the situation."
(I'm definitely down with the sickness, as they say, but I don't have anything to offer you in your cause, unfortunately. I won't be putting cards down for that check.)
I only have a fifty percent chance of getting a positive card from the Destiny Deck, I'm pretty certain I can't get more than one. I'm unwilling to waste multiple turns on this, one is bad enough.
Absolutely agreed. However much I support you, Admiral Adama looks at Tom Zarek with a cautious skeptism.

I believe that this check came at an ideal time. If all goes well, it will fish out two cards from the destiny deck that we didn't neccesarily want coming up during a more severe crisis.
Presidential Election
Skill Check: [5 + 2 - 2 = 5] Politics + Leadership Pass: The President title passes to Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic).
Fail: No effect.
Skill Cards and Result Politics 1 Politics 2 Politics 4 Leadership 2 Leadership 2
Tactics 2 Engineering 5
11 - 7 = 4, Fail - DevoutlyApathetic plays Leadership 3 to Declare an Emergency, changing the Fail to a Pass: The President title passes to Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic).
Crisis Step: Terrorist Investigations
Skill Check [12] Politics + Leadership
Pass: Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic) looks at 1 random Loyalty Card belonging to any player.
6+: No effect.
Fail: -1 Morale.
After Crisis: Activate Heavy Raiders, Advance Jump Preparation
Dr. Baltar, I noticed in your news you didn't say anything about how much you would be helping with this crisis. I can help a little, if we want to try for it. Do you and President Zarek think we should go for it, or save our strength for later challenges?

While I think that we ought to be reasonably safe from any loss of Morale, doing any better than damage control in this situation seems exceedingly unlikely.
Skill Check [12] Politics + Leadership
Pass: Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic) looks at 1 random Loyalty Card belonging to any player. 6+: No effect.
Fail: -1 Morale.
Skill Cards and Result Politics 1 Leadership 1 Leadership 1 Leadership 3 Leadership 4
Piloting 3
10 - 3 = 7, 6+: No effect.
Investigations into terrorist activity is conducted amongst the fleet, but does not turn up anything in particular.
After Crisis: Activate Heavy Raiders, Advance Jump Preparation
No Basestars or Heavy Raiders.
Jump Preparation advances to Level 2 - no Jump Available, but no danger yet either... Turn 11: Admiral William Adama (Rend)
The Destiny Deck is replenished and the Leadership deck is reshuffled.
Receive Skills Step: Rend draws 3 Leadership and 2 Tactics cards.
Galactica: Hangar Deck and Armory damaged, no boarding parties.
Nuke Tokens: 1 remains.
Quorum Cards: 1 in hand.
Ship Reserves: 8 Vipers and 4 Raptors available.
Characters: Admiral William Adama (Rend) - Weapons Control, 7 cards in hand.
Lee "Apollo" Adama (Darian) - Hangar Deck, 2 cards in hand.
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace (abotkin) - Hangar Deck, 2 cards in hand.
Gaius Baltar (Maddoc) - President's Office, 4 cards in hand. President Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic) - Administration, 2 cards in hand.
Waiting on my skill draw to do anything this turn. Meanwhile, anyone capable of repairing something? If so I might have an order with your name on it. Possibly.
Seeing as people with engineering are right up the way, I'm going to Stay put at weapons control, and play Tactics 1to launch a scout, looking at the crisis deck.
I've got nothing; you could let President Zarek or Doctor Baltar make a press conference, or you could head over to research and pick up some tips from the engineers there.
I think Starbuck threw away most of her hand, but she might still have a repair or two.
edit: Or you could do that, while I'm typing out my advice. That works too.
Admiral adama puts his towel on the rack in his quarters, talking idly to Colonel Tigh. "What do you think's coming up on this one?" the Colonel asked offhandedly.
"Honestly? I don't know. Hopefully something good for a change. It's been awhile since we've gotten rid of those cylons back there, and I'm glad we've had this chance to rest..."
"But?"
Adama gets up, putting his uniform on and exiting the quarters. "Well..."
"...Lets just hope something good is down the pipe."
Movement Step: Remain in Weapons Control. Action Step: Play Tactics 1 to Launch a Scout.
Scouting: 1 < 3, A Raptor is Destroyed.
The Admiral orders the launch of a Raptor for scouting, but it does not return...
Crisis Step: Cylon Swarm
1) Activate Basestars
2) Combat Setup
Fore (9 o'clock): 1 Basestar, 5 Raiders
Starboard-Bow (11 o'clock): 1 Heavy Raider
Aft (3 o'clock): 1 Civilian Ship
Port-Quarter (5 o'clock): 1 Viper, 1 Civilian Ship
Port-Bow (7 o'clock): 1 Viper, 1 Civilian Ship
3) Special Rule – Massive Deployment
Keep this card in play until the fleet jumps. Each time a Basestar launches raiders of heavy raiders, it launches 1 additional ship of the same type.
Darian, use of Alert Viper Pilot? abotkin, use of Secret Destiny?
This might be a bit early, but that seems like a rather nasty crisis to get so soon after a jump. I'm definitely considering using my Secret Destiny. Any thoughts from anyone else?
May as well, I guess. I too hate to use it early, but I always have to balance out my thoughts with the realization that I'm the sort of person that never used frag grenades in fallout 3 because "omg what if I need them ALL later?!"
Also, I'm biased because it's my dumb frakkin' luck that we didn't just now avoid this crisis. For free. So I am bitter about it!
To take it objectively, we have 2 jump prep before we get to move. Next two turns are the two pilots, right? 3 civilian ships on the board, none in immediate danger. 5 raiders is a pain but if apollo jumps into the 7 o'clock one then on his turn (this turn coming up, actually) he can move in and firepower them to death with a lucky draw. Otherwise, he sits there and hopefully takes total raider count to 4. Then, if raiders activate, we have a pretty good chance he'll get frakked and 2-3 will move to the civvie ship at 7.
Starbuck's turn is next. More likely to have massive firepower, but the hangar deck is broken, so she'll either have to use command or repair the deck and get XO'd by baltar (if he even can right now) in order to put up much of a defense. In the downtime, our civilian ship has a decent chance to be destroyed, and then 1-2 raiders keep moving to threaten number 2 and our 2nd (or 3rd) viper.
The hangar deck being broke puts us at serious risk immediately, and the civilian ships really hurt to lose, especially if it's the one with fuel. however, there are only 5 raiders. An alternative course would be to XO me to shoot two down per turn, next turn and the turn after, which would almost guarantee minimal to no losses on our part.
Or apollo could jump in the viper at 7 and XO me to shoot, aiding in the defense in one turn if it comes down to it.
I think we can pull it off, it's your choice really, but I think that's the gist of what we're dealing with.
