LCD monitor for Xbox 360 use

I'm looking for a 22 inch LCD monitor to use with my Xbox 360. I've had a bit of a look around but I honestly have no idea what I'm getting into with response times, resolutions, viewing angles, necessary cables so the 360 works alright, etc. So some info in pretty much all those monitor-purchasing areas would be excellent.

I'm willing to go as high as $350. I'm in Australia, so providing American links won't really help me out.

Thanks!

I can't speak to a specific model these days, but for a long time I used a Dell 20" widescreen with my 360 and the VGA cables, and was quite pleased with the results.

for 22 inch you can either go with an HDMI input or DVI and get the HDMI -> DVI converter.

    heres an HDMI asus

heres my favorite monitor brand Benq but you need the converter

you're looking for an actual PC monitor? (or a TV w/out a tuner?)

the main difference in my mind would be that PC monitors tend to not have remotes, have very tinny speakers, and much fewer inputs (DVI, VGA mostly, HDMI for better models)... some models also have issues with displaying non-native resolutions (so they'll either stretch the resolution, making your game look like ass), or in the best case add bars to top/bottom of the screen

the other issues, as i see them are as follows...

If you have an HDMI equipped xbox:
    1. make sure the monitor accepts audio over HDMI (some don't... they require an additional 3.5" (or headphone type, plug)
    2. buy an HDMI cable (cheap)
    3. even if it accepts audio over HDMI, you'll likely be disappointed with the audio... due to the tinny speakers
    4. no remote control in most cases

If you have an older, non-HDMI xbox:
    1. buy a VGA cable for the xbox (probably more expensive)
    2. figure out how to connect audio (likely convert an RCA out into 3.5" plug?)
    3. still deal with the crappy speakers
    4. still deal with the lack of remote

so yeah... i recommend a TV instead... no issues with the different xbox resolutions, much easier setup, use the cables that you already have for the 360, better sound, and remote

My Xbox isn't one of the fancy ones with a HDMI jack; it's quite old.

No remote and poor sound doesn't exactly bother me as I've been using a TV without a remote and one mono speaker for years.

The Xbox supports 1680x1050 (is this right? 16:10 anyway) by VGA, so any 22" monitor will do.

Get some proper speakers too, you'll really appreciate it.
