advice on posting ad looking for residential shipping receiving & storage service

So I'm always looking for this. I've had it for years from one person. Since I lost that person, I've been having trouble. (I think I'm still over-using my current main person that I'm relying on for this. I met someone at TFcon who said he could help me with importing but in well over 6 months he's only had room for two medium sized packages which is insufficient for my needs.)
So I'd like to put in a serious effort to find a reliable service where I won't feel like such a burden, where I'd be free to do a lot more, and just deal with whatever actions I do, rather than being trapped by only being able to pick up once a year at conventions. (by finding a closer location, I'd be free to pick up stuff if it was piling up faster than normal)

Here's what I've written so far.
title: wanted: residential shipping receiving and storage

I am looking for a residential address to ship items to, and have them stored.

Looking to pay significantly less than professional storage services, despite the addition of shipping receiving services.

References necessary. (eBay would be a good source. anything that proves you can be trusted with anything of value.)
Ideal person would be working out of their home so as not to require time traveling to post office to pick up deliveries.
I would like to avoid a smoking household, (strong perfumes a lesser problem) or storage that is not temperature controlled to some extent in the winter and summer.

The purpose of this is primarily non-commercial. (I don't run a business. Reselling is something I rarely do. This is overwhelmingly for personal use.) I do not always have the option to ship to Canada, or sellers refuse to offer the cheaper shipping services. Paying taxes do have a factor as well, but importing of good for personal use is legally allowed based on the length of the visit into the USA, (above which taxes must be paid) so there is no problem there. The items are legal as well. (usually toys)

Frequency of shipping would be at least once a month, average one a week, and up to but rarely a few times per week.
Since shipping frequency is high, storage would be constant.
Size of storage would likely be a car load. Possibly a recliner's width and depth, and twice that height.
Pickup would be at least once a year, I suspect twice a year would be easy considering the location. I could pick up as necessary when storage capacity is near full.

When I'm paying, I can afford to voice preferences.
I'm wondering how much storage normally costs though. Most of the places never actually quote their prices and require you to come in or phone each one individually. (I don't see the purpose in that. if they have a website, why is the info not there?)
If storage of that size is not that expensive compared to the savings in shipping/taxes (I would think that I'd like to save at least 50% of the costs after gas and paying them), I'll feel like an ass for wanting to pay less, but I have a feeling it's not cheap, at least based on the cost of post office PO boxes, which are insane, whether they're only large enough for paper or for larger packages. They're not suitable for anyone but businesses.

What's the best place to post this?
I figure I can relatively easily take a trip once a year on my way to Toronto for TFcon, which would give me access to any cities from tiny Ogdensburg, NY; through Watertown, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo, but I think even Syracuse might be too far to take an individual trip just to pick stuff up when I'm not going to the convention. I'm not sure how much time and gas money it will cost for the extra round trip distance between Watertown and Syracuse. Yahoo maps says it's 70 miles and 1.25 hours one way.
craigslist seems to have a listing for Watertown, NY, which is close to me, but no listing for Ogdensburg which is closer. (because it's a really small town)
kijiji ... damn. they have nothing that I could visit more than once a year on my way to conventions, so storage would have to be plentiful. they have only Rochester and Buffalo.
Is there any way I could get access to the major newspaper of Ogdensburg?

I don't suppose I'm any more likely to get a response now than a month ago, but bump.
I'd at least like some opinion on what kind of price I could ask to pay.
