[Note: This is the in-game thread for the Glossolalia 4++ adventure, The Scatomancer of Starfish Cove. Fair warning: This is shit is gonna get nerdy as fuck.]
Jenooiry 24th, Year of Our Tube 876 PO
Dawn on the Kaeshigitae plains.
A roughly paved road winds across rolling fields of golden grass. To the east, tall gray mountains rise into the lightening sky, their tips barren and snowless even this early in the year; to the west the waters of the Great Sea stretch out to the horizon, calm and shimmering aqua-marine in the orange sunlight; to the south looms the great black walls of Shigitae city, a monument to the tyrant king of Glossolalia, and to the north lies nothing but the vast expanse of water known as the Vast Expanse of Water to the North.
On the road, a train of carriages rolls along, heading north toward the Vast Expanse and the small port town of Starfish Cove, its considerable weight pulled easily onward by a team of seven cowdogs. Each of the carriages is finely made, with a body of sturdy lumber from the Mourningwood forest, and a flexible suspension to ensure a comfortable ride across even the toughest terrain. Within, the carriages are decorated in silk sheets and soft cushions, with all manner of chilled beverages available, and fresh food ready to be served to you by the carriageman's lovely daughters.
Several miles
behind the carriages, a small group of adventurers stands on the side of the road, having just been kicked
off of the carriagetrain for hitting on the carriageman's lovely daughters.
One of whom turned out to be the carriageman's
son, though lovely he was.
Things are off to a grand start.

In the distance, the carriage train jerks violently, then disappears below the horizon.
Also: The carriage probably shouldn't have disappeared like that - judging by its speed and distance, it'd should've taken it at least another fifteen or twenty minutes before it went over the horizon.]
I guess I should check the other thread. Where am I?

"Shut up, Gary. Why don't you at least give us some decent traveling music?" Erick replies.
"Also, keep an eye out for any unusual growths in the grass. I need to gather some mushrooms, herbs, or perhaps some particularly ill-tempered, maladjusted flowers. I'm out of poison and need to start making some more."
/B]Yeah, I was just making sure everyone knew what was going on.[B
The bickering continues, only Matt seems to notice the strange trembling of the earth and the abrupt disappearance of the carriages.
A hunched old Hedgehogkin in blue robes wanders by, mumbling to himself about strings or something. He is clearly senile.
"Was that a quake or what?"
is there a limit to how high I can fly?
if not I would like to fly up and see if I can view the carriage

"god damnit I'M NOT FUCKING FAT FUCK SHIT PISS"
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Flying up to see what happened to the carriage, Gary can clearly see a massive pit where the road once was - it looks as if the ground has just given way. The pit is clearly rather deep, though, because of the direction of the sun, it's too dark to see exactly how deep.

QUIT TALKIN' BOUT MY DICK LIKE YOU KNOW IT OR SOMETHIN'
p.s. the wook, I...
I think I'm falling for you, too.

I report what I see to the rest of the group, and then call after Erick;
"Oh no shit? You say we should go check out the crater? The crater that is on the f'uckin'g way to where we are going? Great idea! I'm glad I picked you."
Gary begins flying towards the crater, mumbling under his breath how it is times like this he is glad flatmen disappear after a few years

As he walked along with the others, his attention was caught by a small cluster of odd looking plant matter on the side of the road. Still looking for materials to begin brewing a poison, he went in for a closer look.
So, can I do that? Find something? Or is that up to you DE?AD?

Roll Intellectuance + Craft (Alchemancery) or Wiseness + Loresmanship (Wilderness Lore).
But I think that the world environment is supposed to be controlled by the GM. I'm not sure if I can just find something like that, or if he has to specifically state that it's there.
edit: then tell me what to roll mr. fancy-pants GM!
(Gary is secretly horrified that he could have made such a mistake, but he won't ever admit it)
Gary notices the flatman looking curiously towards the side of the road.
"Oh good, no, that's fine, go ahead and look for your little plants. We've got all the time in the world. Meanwhile there's some people in a carriage probably being eaten alive. It's good. We can wait. Please, take your time."
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I did. Intellectuance + Craft (Alchemancery) or Wiseness + Loresmanship (Wilderness Lore). So there.
Let it be noted that he is making the buzz noise with his mouth.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
{Rolling Intellectuance + alchemistry + 1 = 0+1+1 = 2d20}
2d20 → [12,6] = (18)
CRAP
Scooting along the ground, the flatman manages to find a single, neon-green Whapatuhulululi Bud, used in mind-slowing poisons. Unfortunately, there isn't nearly enough of it to actually make anything.
I continue walking with my fellow party members.
