Oh, hello, Molly. I thought you were asleep. What's that? You want to know why Daddy is opening your piggy bank? Well, you know that Daddy lost his job last fall and couldn't make the house payments. Yes, that's why we've been living in Daddy's car for the past couple of weeks. The point is, Daddy spent his last bit of cash on food for you kids last night, so now he needs to borrow some from you. You see, God has finally answered Daddy's prayers. The sequel to Hydro Thunder will be here soon, and Daddy needs quarters. So you just go back to sleep. Good night.

Edit: Here's the info Gabe linked.

I've wasted many a bundle of quarters on this game. Let's hope for the best.

This is one of the oddest first posts I think I've ever seen that wasn't some sort of bot.

Side note: Pictures / Actual Info would be nice!

This thread is disappointingly not about The House of the Dead: Overkill.

    This game looks positively bootsy.

I mean, you know, in a great way.

It's the original team, or at least parts of it, so I'm hoping it can deliver the same sort of pure FUN that Hydro Thunder did.

As long as they don't ruin it like they did with the Rush series...

    Tee hee.

    Watersports.

Yeah, but I agree that it would be sweet to have a console port of this.

It was my understanding that this was intended for arcade release.

And hey, SFIV was released in arcades before it was out on consoles.

In Japan yes. SFIV didn't get an official US arcade release because their stance on the matter is basically LOL US ARCADE R DED.

There were definitely cabinets in the US - I remember a story on GiantBomb where the dudes were considering driving to another city to play one of the few cabs in the area.

It's okay, a lot of people think it. When you flip the region switch on the Japanese machines you get English menus, dialogue, and American names for characters (Gouki -> Akuma, and the old boss name snafu) so many just figure that they're US machines.

It's funny, because a friend of mine was just saying he hopes Midway puts an arcade perfect port of Hydro Thunder on XBLA/PSN. This may be even better.

    I hope.

And seriously, great op or greatest op?

This was my reasoning - I knew they had English menus and character names and assumed they were US machines.
