I found this laptop in one of the closets in the house, tried to turn it on, the HDD spins for 3 seconds and it just stops. Nothing comes up on the screen at all, I thought the screen might be broken but I hooked it up to a CRT and still nothing. Unfortunately there's only one stick of RAM so I don't know if it's working. Any other ideas why it's doing this?
