DS game won't work (Hotel Dusk)

So I bought Hotel Dusk new yesterday for my DS Lite and it's not working anymore. It worked just fine the first time I started it up, but now im lucky to even get my save to load. The game will jam in the randomest of spot very quickly within starting it. I tried some other games to make sure the problem wasn't my DS, and they're working just fine.

Is they're anything I can do to make it work besides exchanging it at the store?

Have you looked at the physical condition of the card? Check the contacts, maybe give 'em a good blow (ah, the good ol' days) and try again. Check to see if anything is cracked or something.

If it seems to be in order, go back to the store and get a new one. Shame to hear about it, but it could've been worse: you could've been a week into the game as opposed to only a day.

Isn't it a great game, though? You're gonna love it.

Though you guys might be joking, I can't believe blowing is still passed around as good advice. It was never good advice back in the NES days either, it gets moisture inside that can corrode things. The best thing is a cloth + rubbing alcohol.

It's semi-related, but I've been having some trouble with my DS lite lately. It just randomly will not detect the game card that's in it. One the one hand it can't be dust, because I can have a game that's been in there for weeks. If I eject it, but don't pull it out, then put it back in, it doesn't read it. There's no way anything got in the slot. Yet, pulling it out and blowing on the card and slot work every time.

It's nothing serious, and it's never lost its connection in the middle of a game. But it is rather annoying that I have to keep blowing into the slot to get my games working now. And I'm pretty sure it's the DS at fault here. Maybe it's just been used so many times the spring eject thing it has is starting to get a little screwy?

Well anyways, I solved the problem by exchanging it for another card. The cashier didn't asked much questions. Works just fine now, so I guess the mods can lock this topic :)
