First of all, no, this isn't for homework (anymore). I have the answer, I just don't know how I get that answer. The equasion is as follows:
What gives?
-0.9 (3.5 - 5.2)the answer is supposedly 1.53, but I'm getting 2.07 every time. However, if I do
-0.9 (5.2 - 3.5)it comes out as 1.56.
What gives?

For your question... -0.9 (3.5 - 5.2)... the order goes:
Brackets:
3.5 - 5.2 = -1.7
Multiplication:
-0.9 (-1.7) = 1.53
What is (5.2 - 3.5)?
How come I keep getting -2.3, not -1.7? Probably because I'm fucking retarded.

You might need a review of integers.
Though it looks like you're subtracting in a bit of a random way. The only way I could see you getting -2.3 is if you subtracted 2 from 5 in the ones place, and 3 from 5 in the tens.
edit: I'm getting places mixed up because I'm tired.
Actually that's what I did, I went upstairs and fixed it.
God I feel dumb.
