I'm surprised there's not a thread on this movie already, and I didn't really want to make one until I saw it, which I just did.
It was pretty much the best movie I've seen in a long time. I could lament that it should have gotten a nod for Best Picture at the Oscars, but since I haven't seen most of the ones that did, I'll give that a pass.
Springsteen got fucked, though, that song was rad.
At any rate, I encourage everyone to see this movie. And talk about it. In here.
But you can talk about other things in here too.

When the credits rolled, they stayed so one guy could confirm that the porno the manager was watching was indeed the one he had at home. It was!
The sub-plot with the daughter was particularly touching.

That's one of my favorite movies!
That's what years of drug abuse and alcohol can do.
Yeah, I can see that. I read an interview with Mickey Rourke and he said Aronofsky let him rewrite that little speech himself because Rourke felt that it paralleled his own career in Hollywood.
Also, the best part of the Springsteen song was that he wrote it just from knowing Rourke so well. He knew next to nothing about the movie he was writing it for.
