iPhone SIM card question

If you pull the SIM card out of one iPhone and pop it into another iPhone, is the second iPhone good to go, or is there additional activation required?

Should have been a rock star.

    It should be good to go. When I had to replace my first two all the employee did was pop the SIM into the new phone and turn it on.
