I realize this is a longshot as the PS3 is not actually mine nor is it in my home so details will be sketchy to say the least. Ok so a little while ago, maybe a month, my cousin finished the Call of Duty: World at War solo campaign and as a reward, the Nazi Zombie level was unlocked. He's played it many, many times since unlocking it. 2 days ago, he was showing the level to me and a few other cousins and we spent much of the night playing it. The next day, I was over at his house again and turned the PS3 on but suddenly the level was locked again. In fact, it looks like the entire solo campaign is displayed as being unplayed, despite the fact that my cousin finished it.
Added to this, it seems like the PS3 now does not autosave. We figured this out after having played through 5 of the levels in co-op mode and then upon quitting and going back into the co-op mode, only the first level was playable with the others being greyed out. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Is it permanent?
p.s. we've also had trouble with saving in Rock Band. We'd play the world tour mode, finish a few venues but then when we restarted the system (after having exited properly out to the main menu before turning the PS3 off), none of the new information was saved.
Yeah, depending on how the game saves are programmed, and in a lot of FPS games they're tied to the online profile in such a manner that a server hiccup resets everything. I don't have any direct experience with World at War, but CoD4 did it and so does Resistance 2, among others.
