Yeah....I may be wrong..Only half checked the thread until I was getting mods and such like. El Extremo's 'meh' covers what most people said.
Except Ninja P who thinks it sucks ass.
Hmmm Ninja P is good people indeed so I am going to have to skip it.
Bwahaha, red for lies.
In all seriousness, though, I am heavily prejudiced against OA because I absolutely hated everything about the one other simulator sequence in FO3. Bethesda is clearly abusing the fact that 360 users don't have the option of modding in any number of actually useful and interesting weapons and armors. Plus, OA clashes pretty obviously with basically everything in the entire game (gameplay, decision making, looting, etc.). And I'm also pissed at Bethesda for not only making the addition of ten extra levels and removing the crappy main ending part of a DLC pack, but making it part of the third content pack as well.
Look, Bethesda in general has just made some crappy, crappy decisions regarding FO3 and I have plenty of pettiness to hold it against them. If I had my way, the first DLC pack would've cratered and forced Bethesda to think up some content that's actually worth ten bucks. The Pitt has some serious potential, but I'm not holding my breath.

I wouldn't actually wear the armor reward, though. Bethesda's artists fucked up and made the stuff way too small. The helmet is ridiculously oversized, and the whole thing is just plain goofy.
You get some outcast armor afterwards, which looks ok.
Here's the correct size comparison.
Powered armor in Fallout 3 is the same size as an unarmored man, resulting in a goofy HUGE helmet and weak looking armor suit.
Fallout 3:
I'm not sure what the huge difference here is.
I mean, the shoulders are slightly broader and apparently the old suit comes with Frankenstein boots but we're talking six inch difference here as far as I can tell.
So, I got around to finishing the game last night, and I have to say: I don't get all the hate for the ending. It was quite in line with the endings of the previous two (though I would have to admit that it would've been nice to see a little more detail on eventual outcomes of some of my decisions throughout the game).
Overall, I'm pleased. Sure, the ending was a bit abrupt, and the "story" missions didn't really take all that much time. But I spent so much time wandering around and doing side quests that the game took up close to a month and a half of my free time, so I really can't complain.
One interesting observation: Upon finishing Mass Effect (each time I finished it, really) I immediately started up another play through. Upon finishing Fallout 3, I'm considering picking it back up for a bad karma play-through sometime over the next couple weeks - but for now I'm somewhat relieved that I can take a break.
The one thing that was a bit jarring though:
Sure, for the ending you should've been able to send in Fawkes or Charon, since radiation wouldn't have been a problem for either of them. But there just wasn't THAT much radiation to begin with! Rad-x, one of the radiation suits, and some rad-away should've been more than enough to keep you alive. I mean, I get the whole "sacrifice" idea - but it could've been pulled off more convincingly. Maybe force you to go for a swim in one of the pools in the basement of the building, and make it so the pool overflowed and you had no way back out from wherever you swam to... Something like that. But to croak to something you've been dealing with for the entire game? Kind of a weak point, that.

Exactly my thoughts except for the really stupid idea of not doing each locations end like in the first games and the
"Oh no there is too much radiation whoever goes in will not be able to make it."
*Look at Fawkes standing right next to me*
Come on you have done exactly the same thing what, 2 hours ago?!?!
:x
*Go in anyway*
the ending isn´t as bad as everyone makes it seem.
I played as good, so it seemed fitting and kind of heady that here I was, right where my dad died, about to do the same to help a bunch of people in a blasted hellscape that probably would have rather shot me than looked at me. It seemed appropriately heroic.
Still, the "flooded chamber" was lame. The idea stratslinger had would have been so much better - made you go past some point of no return where it actually seemed like you would die. Although watching Sarah Lyons and Dogmeat through the glass was kind of sad, too.
I just hope this new scheme in Broken Steel we have that allows that Vault Dweller to live doesn't mean we just send in Sentinel Lyons, she's one of my favorite characters in the game.

I noticed something similar. I haven't even finished the game yet, but I'm kind of tired of it even though I still enjoy it. I'd also like to do the bad karma thing, but I think I'll wait a bit. The game is just sooo long.
But yeah after Dead Space and Resistance 2 campaigns I immediately restarted them on higher difficulties.
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
I liked Fallout 3, but I'm pretty sure I didn't tap into its full potential. I never even got to "big town" or whatever the place was called, yet I kept hearing it referenced. I also failed to get any sidekicks at all. Once I had all the guns/armor and was level 18-ish or so, and finished the main quest, I got kind of bored with the game and never played it again.
Yes, yes you did. Not at big town really, but by god did you miss some neat quests. Finishing the main quest at anything less than 20 means you missed some cool stuff out there in the wasteland.

The fallout 1 & 2 power armor has molded butt-cheeks while the fallout 3 power armor has a slightly curved piece of armor over the butt. I feel that is an improvement.

Its subtle. The Fallout 3 suit looks really, really stupid in action. The fact that its too short and that the shoulders aren't broad enough contribute to that fact significantly.
My character is an invisible freddy kreuger, so it doesn't affect me. But I would never, ever use the T-51b suit in Fallout 3. Looks too lame.

Well big town didn't have an amazing storyline or anything, but the rewards for that quest were pretty decent.
ie.) The lucky 8 ball (+1 luck while its in your inventory), a bunch of medical skill books, a fatman, and a doc contact who will heal you for free.
The Pitt downloadable content, due out in March for the Xbox 360 and PC, takes place in Pittsburgh's industrial district. A "stunning dystopia that's unlike any other area in Fallout 3's world", The Pitt consists of an expansive dungeon area and a settlement split into two factions - masters and slaves.
Players will find themselves interacting with the Raiders they spent so much time killing during the main game, with quests allowing players to support either side of the settlement, allowing for a fair bit more replayability than the rather linear Operation: Anchorage pack released late last month.

That sounds cool, and a lot more interesting than Anchorage.
I looked forward to completely slaughtering all the slavers. I hope I get the same satisfaction as I did when annihilating Paradise Falls.
For anyone considering Operation: Anchorage, I personally think it's amazing. It's a nice change of pace to the horror of the Wasteland, and the rewards are very sweet indeed.
I like especially how General Chase screwed with the realism so much during the creation of the simulation. It's so very Fallout to have a corrupt egomaniac screw something up, and the simulation was no different.
Can someone help me find my way back to the Broken Bow? I swam there the first time, and unlocked the door, but now I can't seem to find it again...
It's just the front bow of the boat. it's pointed towards the jefferson. Just leave rivet city, turn left and folow the edge of the water, there is a big metal walk way that leads back to the boat. = door

How do you do the 'peaceful' resolution to the Tenpenny - Roy quest? It's the only one I havent done because I can never convince lots of the guys to leave.

If you can't convince the racists to leave there are alternatives.
For those running the shops
if you rob from their stores without them catching you they'll complain about lack of security and leave the tower.
For the married couple and Susan Lancaster
You can find a love letter from the husband to Susan in the tower, show the wife, and she'll go on a murder spree before leaving or being killed.
However, if you didn't know the 'peaceful' solution
is not so peaceful as Roy ends up killing all the humans anyway.

That really pissed me off. Not the outcome itself, since that was unexpected, but really cool.
But
I hate getting lied to. Roy told there were some disagreement with the new management, that smug fucker. Even though I was playing a complete saint up to that point, I played a little ghoul eradication. None of those assholes was left alive when I was done. I don't care if you're a ghoul, a mutant, or a human, lying to me is not a good idea.

I did that quest thinking I was being all nice and everyone would be happy. Later, someone tells me to kill Tenpenny, and I say OK. Then I talk to him again, and I have the options of: "[Lie] I killed Tenpenny" and "Tenpenny is dead". What? Since when? And how do I know this?
Especially when, just 5 seconds ago, he said that he'd know when Tenpenny was dead. So why'd he still ask me to kill him?
