[Wii] Boom Blox (2) Bash Party - now with more space
Maybe Boom Blox 2 will make it possible to remove a block in a manner other than turning the camera perpendicular to the block you want to remove, (which makes it *really* hard to see) and pulling to the side. It was frustrating to NOT be able to pull a block back (towards you/the screen), as that is everyone's initial instinct on how to do it.

Well, it was possible, it just wasn't as easy or accurate.
And you don't need to turn the camera completely perpendicular to the block, just askew.
I don't know.. I had very little trouble with the control in the original and would not be disappointed at all if nothing changed in that regard.
there has to be a logical reason why they kept out head tracking again. like some kind of safety thing. like "afraid people waggling their head wil snap their own neck or headbutt a desk corner.
I can't think of why they excluded the feature twice now

It's a totally unintended use of the console. The sensor bar was not meant to be put anywhere but on the TV, it's a long bar that doesn't fit on your head at all. How are you supposed to wear it? Are people supposed to use alternate sources or IR lights such as candles? How can they instruct anyone to strap IR lights to their head in a certain configuration?
It's a neat idea but it's something for the experimental indie crowd. It's like if you figure out how to connect a random bluetooth device to the Wii by tricking it into thinking it's a remote. Software makers can't support those devices even if they are unbelievably cool.

it was a hidden easter egg. but in the sense of your argument, one can relate it to the hot coffee stuff. they can get blamed for it even though it's a hidden easter egg taht's not intended for average users to try out.

If it's just an easter egg then I don't see it as being expansive enough to even be worth it. I'd much rather see it done right, which is going to require a glasses add-on and an official remote holder to go on the TV.
Probably not worth the testing money/time to implement it as a full feature.
edit: and what sporky said, there needs to be an official glasses thing and remote holder (or at least third party)
It was already in the first game then removed. It's the reason why I didn't buy the first game.I'll probably get this one and like I said, just install the program onto a computer with bluetooth.
Boom Blox is as much a multiplayer game as it is a single player game. Head tracking doesn't work with more than 1 person.
Also, do you really need to track your head to see around the tower of blocks, when you could just rotate the camera?
I think headtracking is a neat gimmick just as a general notion but not necessary and almost wouldn't add anything to any game, besides "cockpit" style games (flight sims, car racing games perhaps, stuff like that.. mostly flight sims though).
As do I. I agree that I don't see any practical use for it in the game. I just really wanted that gimmick. Like when people bought that Halo 3 demo and got a free game with it (Crackdown).
So... did anyone else buy this? I did last weekend and dove into it pretty hard. Lots of fun new features, no stupid story mode (that I've encountered yet).

Yep bought it too, and it's totally fantastic. Especially the multiplayer is so much fun. Although all my friends needed a serious kick in the butt before it got fun. I was like, "It's Boom Blox, not rocket science, BLOW SOME STUFF UP!" and hilarity ensued.
I haven't ventured into the sea/space areas yet. Looking forward to it, probably this weekend.
The Paint Ball stuff was interesting (I have no idea how to get gold on Slop Signal), and some of those Bull's Eye puzzles where you have to be precise while throwing BOWLING BALLS were stupid hard.
My wife doesn't like the sequel cause of the music, yep, the whole thing fails because it doesn't have the same annoying wierd occapela thing going on in the background...
So, this is 30 bucks at Best Buy and Amazon this week. Therefore I now own it. Any good user made levels up on the onlines? Or is it not even worth it to deal with that shit?

It's worth it in my opinion. I've found some really creative levels just for the point of looking cool, and others that are really fun multiplayer levels. Found an excellent space battle one that's basically two star destroyers firing volleys at each other. Plus, EA has a bunch of downloadable levels that are pretty high quality (some are levels from the first game remade for Bash Party).
so been playing this and man i have some bad boom blox bicep.
is it me or are some of these levels way harder than anything in the first.
there is that locked section on the carousel that has some really fucking hard stuff in there. i had to buy two levels so far couldn't get close in boom tree and the one 2 after
well to be fair there has been one shooting gallery one and i am on the second screen of them. you can always buy around them and not do them. i personally can't stand them either

Maybe not what EA planned.
I can't wait to injure my arm playing this game like I did playing the first.

Yeah, I stand by my original statement: as long as I don't have to chuck baseballs at 80+ zombies, I'm there.
Heh, my arm hurt so much after finishing those missions. Dear lord were they in pain.
