Hey did you guys know that Heath Ledger probably based the mannerisms of his Joker interpretation on Tom Waits?
Did you guys know he was in Ben Stiller's greatest movie?
In addition to making the best music
and being an awesome performer
he is pretty much the best dude
I am pretty new in my Tom Waits love affair. Show me more awesome things about him.

I think he might be the only artist that has more covers of him than his own music (on youtube at least).
Bonus points!

Almost saw him last year but missed the ticket window. Then I saw scalpers on ebay selling them for up to $900 dollars. Motherfuckers.
I almost slapped someone for saying "Hey, that's a copy of that Rod Stewart song"
That's what I thought too. Like, it was tied to the credit card you used to buy the tickets online. I just assumed that it was some scam or maybe some special tickets. Either way, not worth it. Would love to see him sometime though.
The rumor is further substantiated by the fact the Ledger was working with Waits in the movie "The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus," which was in production at the time of Ledger's death.
Maybe it's not a rumor. I just said it was to be on the safe side. I don't even know!
Cheap whiskey and Tom Waits, its been a while since I've had that kinda evening
Because I'm willing to do it.
Fuck.
Fuck these lungs and their... capacities.
Fuck em.
Could I atleast achieve a modicum of Michael Wincott maybe if I started right now?
I mean how much do heavy smokers smoke in a day?
my girlfriend and i said the exact same thing when we saw TDK.
we saw him in Ohio in June (or july?) and it was the best show I've ever seen. Anyone know if he's planning to do a tour/album this year?
If I want a night at the bar I'll listen to some later stuff: Innocent When You Dream, Jockey Full of Burboun, Anywhere I Hang My Head
And If I want to drink until I don't feel feelings I'lll listen to the the new stuff: Goin' Out West, Make it Rain, Don't Go Into That Barn
Basically you can gauge my alcohol intake by what era of Tom Waits I'm listening to.
Disc three is my favorite on Orphans, so many good covers and the Kerouac songs awesome
I suspect it might be the best thing
especially if he performs a song or two
Damn you Orik, that was the show I would have gone to had circumstances allowed. I hope you had a blast, because I hate you now.
Blue Valentine's good, but for me it goes Rain Dogs > Swordfishtrombones > Alice > Heart of Saturday Night > the rest. And yes, booze is required for listen.
A quote I like about his voice, from his entry in Wikipedia
he seems like an incredibly interesting person, though

Don't like his songs, or don't like his voice? If it's the latter, you can give Wicked Grin by John Hammond a shot. That's how I tricked my wife to go from hating Tom Waits mostly for his voice to begrudgingly appreciating his music. "Hey this is pretty good." "AHA! It's Tom Waits." "God I hate you so much."
I already love his voice
Wait, that's not Dodgeball.
I am confused.
Start by inserting a burning iron into each ear.
What are you retarded
I guess I just missed the joke, because Dodgeball is civilization.
