I actaully like Doom 3, while actively disliking Half life 2. However, doom 3 is more of a loyalty thing, and Half life 2 was boring as church. However, the episodes where fun.

I uh... I gotta disagree with that. Half-Life 2 was a lot of fun.

I want a rad steampunk rpg with fucking crazy weapons. Like a molecular discombobulation ray or something. There's a website that makes custom steampunk rayguns for like 2500 bucks and they are beautiful.

i just heard a great idea for the nba all-star game
basically make it so it's got 22 players voted in entirely by fans, and the top two vote getters (lebron, kobe) get to pick their teams from the remaining 20, schoolyard style, with winner of coin toss getting first pick.
fuck this east/west bullshit, i want to see grown men cry at being picked last

Oh Gurusloth, you delightul man.
Bioshock is cool. I should play that again. I think I might have traded it in for something...
But I mean some kind of alternate-past steampunk where, like, the South succesfully seceded from the Union and Texas is still a sovereign nation and the Texans and Mexicans border-raid in fucking airships like beautiful wooden boats with gas bladders and coal-fired jet engines strapped to them.

You can disagree all you want, I just couldn't get into it. So far it is the only game to date where I have been chased by a helicopter and later fought a helicopter and the entire time I was bored shitless.
I discovered i could take my time for the most of it and have no ill effects. Also the boat handled like an ass overed in oil with no way to steer. Fuck that boat. I'm sure it's a perfectly fun game, I just couldn't get into it.
I want a game where you have nerf guns and you fight on a train and there's a Swedish masseuse as a miniboss and at one point the train does a gigantic loop and at the very top you jump out of the train and parachute down into the canyon to get to the cave
Steampunk as a purposed Genre is terrible, I have this arguement near weekly. However, there needs to be more alternate history games, it's always fun to look back and say 'what if'.

I think it hit its peak as you escape the city
and then it starts to become more repetitive
honestly by the time I finished HL2 I was happy to be done

I wasn't "happy" to be done
But yes it got more repetitive towards the end
But still, fuuuuuck Ravenholme so hard fuck that place also where's Zephyr to say "I played it wiht the sound off but it's not scary"

I played it only one year ago or so and I'm guessing that has a major effect on how I felt about it
I'd like to see more emergent gameplay rather than heavily scripted sequence after heavily scripted sequence.
An experience that is different every playthrough and all that.
making a game that is fun to play based on procedural algorithms is almost impossible. there is so much work that goes into making a game fun, and they'd have to playtest every permutation or else run into the Spore Effect (boring)

there was this alternate ww2 history game that was coming out that i was really excited for, where they put in technologies and projects the nazis were working on before the war ended. apparently it was awful though.

somehow all the physics ive taken in school is paying off
STEAM!
so many drugs
I am so pumped
that game is going to suck so bad.
because at least that might have raptors with machine guns
Seriously, after playing the first sequel, I have absolutely no hopes for this one
I'm just waiting until they release the High Def mod for the original
So I enjoyed it.
You are a terrible person.
this is not something you should admit to
As far as I remember it was like mass effect, I liked it a lot.
no
no no
you are wrong
and probably also a baby rapist
this game was the Daikatana of sequels

It wasn't as good, obviously, but it still had its moments.
And let you take a flamethrower to penguins, so that's a definite check in the "plus" column.

With deck-mounted steam cannons.

The opening levels of HL2 are some of my favorite ever
they do a great job of creating that sense of urgency and you feel like you're playing the world's best chase scene
Also, No you suck.

Sure why not
Someone call EA

i want to see a game adaptation of Fatherland.
I played it only one year ago or so and I'm guessing that has a major effect on how I felt about it
but HL2 is hardly one of my favorite games

T Orik, Damn I love you some days, next time i see you I'm hugging you.

The opening levels, with Gordon hauling ass through the city, and Ravenholme were the the highlights though
The last few levels were a bit repetitive
aw hell yeah
t wiggin: no it wasn't
Different opinions are cool
