I've already gone beyond the pale on my unnecessary-but-awesome purchases for Rock Band, though now that I've done it I consider the RB2 drums very, very necessary. Still, my wife rolled her eyes when I came home with the Fender P-Bass and said, "What, another guitar?"

I was going to describe how the other Gibsons were for the PS2, the Xplorer and old RB1 drum kit were being donated to a friend and how I planned on selling my Donkey Konga setup eventually, but I didn't think that was going to help my case at all.

My wife plays bass in RB. I want the Fender P-Bass more than she does. I think she knows I'd probably take over bass detail if I ever bought it.

Yeah there's a YouTube video somewhere of some guys hooking up something like 4 of them and playing "The Hand That Feeds" I think.

I dont know if it's possible to daisy chain anything but the light, but that would be more than enough. Basically the fog machine (with fog juice!) plugs into the wall, then with one of those old school computer mouse style inputs (pins, I dont know the technical term), you plug the light into the fog machine. Then the light to the XBox.

So I guess you could just keep plugging a light into a light into a light, but since every light acts as a controller (since it uses a USB slot, they let it double as the controller a vocalist would need - it has a d-pad, the buttons and the XBox Live button), I have no idea how the game would see that many lights.

The amount of smoke it makes for playing in your living room is insane. I shut the fog part off after one song (they have 2 switches - fog and lights) partly because I want to save it for this weekend's party, and partly because I couldn't see the TV anymore, haha. It makes a TON, but it looks so so so awesome.

I then dropped the light, and heard a rattle inside, so I was afraid I broke an LED. I started a song, and was immediately blinded, so even if I broke ONE LED, this thing can take a fall and still stay very very cool.

Ill post a more complete review after this weekend, when I play it drunk, in the dark, and with a full band.

The problem there, though, is that the wii releases are the same quantities as the original releases.

They'd have to be releasing multiple weeks of content to catch up, otherwise, they'll always be a year and a half (?) behind.

Is there some kind of limit that Nintendo imposes on the number of DLC allowed? Somebody on the RB Forums correctly predicted the Cars album would be released missing one song. It seems odd...

I don't think HMX is in a good PR position on this.

Oh... Still, they did say that by February they'd be releasing new tracks with the old. The next DLC will be in March. So I still wonder if Nintendo has a limit or something. Or is HMX that backed up with all the old DLC and is the process for conversion to the Wii really that complicated?

Well, in theory the MIDIs would be the same or very similiar. Most of the work would be certifying that the song doesn't break RB2Wii and then Nintendo's cert time on each of the tracks. Plus if the same team that does new tracks does the old, they probably did a bunch of old ones first (since they know how those songs are supposed to work) in their first batch, and the new ones aren't probably going to come until their second batch of work.

Thats very nice of them to donate $50,000 to them but i dont think rock band kits are a good gift to give to them. They need food and water. I dont really think sick kids need to be playing rock band
Well I don't wanna look at it this way, but they are Rock Band 1 kits which they probably have in excess stock and with the shitty equipment probably won't sell.
