Man, Guitar Hero is gong to get The Touch... the only way for Harmonix to out-do this is to do a Transformers Movie track pack, with The Touch and Dare by Stan Bush, Instruments of Destruction by N.R.G., and The Transformers (Theme) by Lion. If they can't actually do the Transfomers theme/call it the Transformer Movie pack, then call it something rather suggestive and substitute either Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way by Spectre General or Dare to be Stupid by Weird Al.
You forgot Stan Bush's new song he wrote for the Bayformers movie -"Till All Are One." It's even more adorably cheesy than The Touch, though I think the latter is going to be more fun in a video game setting.
Isn't Stan Bush remaking The Touch for Trans2?
He already remade The Touch for trans 1, so I doubt it. It's the b-side of the till all are one single.
Yes, I'm kind of ashamed to know this.
Only when you confess where you got this will your shame be complete then you may move on to forgiveness.
PM me that info please?

It was free to download off his site back when the first movie came out.
Pop artists suffer from dumbing down their songs, so much so that most of them get caught out for lip synching or having a pre-recording backup track.
Some bands find a way around it and their fans don't really mind, like Queen with "Bohemian Rhapsody." Other bands find a different way to play a song that would be impossible to play live, like Radiohead's "Like Spinning Plates" (vocals recorded backwards, played forwards, over the sped up reverse track of another song, "I Will"), which is played on piano live.
In regards to Muse, stuff like the keyboard track and guitar solos are actually played live where someone (like me) would expect for them to come up with something simpler to play but they end up doing it the way it was done on the track.
Ok, I see what's going on here.
Lowered expectations. I'm not saying this as a criticism of Muse at all, they are certainly stand up for not compromising with their live music. It's more of an indictment of these shitty bands that "dumb it down" as it were.
Are you getting on the case of all bands (or producers) that simply went for a more full sound (say a large chorus or orchestra backing) for a studio version and then have to make changes and allowances for live performances?
Yeah, I know this doesn't apply for everybody but I do like a good show. I went to Coachella a few years ago and the best act all the way was Nine Inch Nails. Coldplay were dull and Chris Martin as trying to be funny in between songs and it was just fail. Sad to say but aside from hearing some new songs from Make Believe, Weezer was very dull (aside from their bassist). A lot of the other bands were just there to play a 45min set and leave the hot swealtering sun.
I did get to see some new bands back then that made me fans for how energetic they were on stage, bands like the Kills and Radio 4 were just awesome live although I was a bit let down hearing their albums when I got home.
With NIN, it wasn't the whole Trent + a few guys that usually gets seen. The whole band was into the set with Trent hopping around between keyboards and guitar. It was a hot and humid night and everyone was just bouncing and singing along. That was good times and well worth the trip.
Woo hi5 for great taste. NIN is my favorite band and it is absolutely amazing how well most of their songs translate live. Trent is just an animal and perfectionist at the same time. I have seen them at least 2 dozen times and just nabbed pit passes for the may 16th show with Janes Addiction in San Diego 10 minutes ago. Total bill for two tix was 225$, ouch. I also get to see them at sasquatch festival a week or so later.
NIN
Though I really don't enjoy playing their songs in Rock Band.

Are you getting on the case of all bands (or producers) that simply went for a more full sound (say a large chorus or orchestra backing) for a studio version and then have to make changes and allowances for live performances?
Not really. Frankly I'm still trying to figure out exactly what these other bands do that dumb it down, besides like, lip syncing or having prerecorded stuff play instead of actually playing live like Arikado said. Mainly just having a live show be played half assed is what would piss me off.
If a band has a studio sound and wants to use an orchestra, or electronic effects or what not, then that's fine, and they don't even have to have those things when they play a live show, if when they play the song they can still arrange it to have it sound good with just the band playing it. nothing wrong with that at all.
As an example of a live show that features...aspects of what has been discussed, I've point to Zappa Plays Zappa, where they will actually play footage of Frank Zappa playing guitar from a particular song from a particular show, and they band will play the song along with him, which is actually pretty cool in person. Of course then they go and play G-Spot Tornado live and it's like holy shit, that wasn't even meant to be played be people.
What? Man, society sucks. It's true that there are just a handful of bands that put awesome live shows (as in sound just as good or even better than in studio) but that's just silly. Hell, I love anything RHCP live. They ALWAYS sound better live than in studio. Metallica usually puts some awesome live shows. By the way, ACDC Track Pack? Kick ass. All the way.
Now MCR? Regardless of what you think about their music (I admit that I like a few of their songs) they're REAL shitty live. 30 Seconds to Mars? Ear rape.
Doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how bad or good a band or artist is live. Generally speaking, the backlash against live performances (especially in games like Rock Band) will be due to preference to the version of the song that the listener has heard more frequently. This is usually going to be an album version or potentially a radio edit. This way of thinking also will extend toward cover versions.
For example, if say RHCP or Metallica were to cover a song and it were to end up in a rhythm game (as a master recording from the band), nobody would bat an eye. But a cover version of the original (or even of the RHCP or Metallica version) will cause people to lose their shit. And even then, it's only because the singer doesn't sound exactly the same.
Now we have a case of an actual master recording getting treated like it's a cover. I don't know if I'd call it irony, but whatever it is, it's delicious. A small part of me wants to buy the POS song just to spite those who are offended by its release...
If people don't like the new mix, they certainly have a right to bitch about it (especially since it means there's a good chance we'll never get the radio mix).

Who says I am? I'm merely pointing out the main motivations for why people don't like covers, and by extension, the Papa Roach song. But hey, if it means that much to you, bitch away.

Why do you always do this? Sure, the RB forums are bitching to a ridiculous degree, but they aren't wrong. Preferring that HMX would've used the version you liked isn't wrong. Preferring a master over a cover isn't wrong. But you act like anyone who thinks that way gets off by strangling dogs or something.
While I agree Santa takes devil's advocate to the extreme at times, the point he's making is still valid.
I was going to get "Last Resort", but after hearing the vocals, I'm not. Because he isn't in tune in the intro, and I don't want to have to intentionally sing out of tune, when I'm used to hearing it in tune.
But, the blaming of HMX is just stupid. They didn't steal the master from the lead singers stash - they used what was given to them. All the songs in the game are there because the band's (or labels) sent them to HMX. If you're really pissed that's the version in the game, contact Papa Roach.

Hell yeah, I went to ABC.com to check up something on a previous Lost episode, when I saw a link to their store. Checked it out and they are selling Geronimo Jackson t-shirts now, and they're all on backorder.
Seeing as I was the first to get this name for my band and get it online in Rock Band 2, my band's name will be popping up everywhere. 8-)
Oh man. I played bass last night in the funk DLC challenge, and my neck got an awesome workout from bobbing my head and strutting to those phat beats. The Fender P-Bass totally justified itself on Shining Star; the bassline is pretty weak on Pick Up the Pieces, but Sex Machine is a ton of fun even though it's the same three notes over and over again.
We need more grooves like this! More funk or hip-hop laced with rock would be awesome. I haven't even sat down at the drum kit to try these, which I imagine will be the best instrument to play.
Ug soo wanted to nab the funk pack and get my drum on last night but my wrist has just been killing me lately when I play drums. Shit is depressing me, might be time to go see a doctor. 9 out of the last 10 times I have played my right wrist is just fucked.
On a happier note I just checked out a seating chart for the NIN/Janes Addiction show. Holy shit I got lucky on the Pit Passes. The pit is tiny.

Just a heads up...
there's going to be a Geronimo Jackson single in iTunes VERY shortly. They're preparing a huge marketing blitz following a certain episode airing.
We can only hope a Rock Band tie-in is something in the works.
EDIT: Holy shit they're selling a DHARMA jumpsuit for $90. Oh my god I need to find out if ABC affiliates get any sort of discounts because I can not resist. I hate myself, but I'm going to love zipping that up.

I wouldn't count on a Rock Band tie-in (since we still don't have You All Everybody), but...a marketing blitz that involves Geronimo Jackson? Are they going to tie into the Lost mythos as more than an obscure band or something? o_O
Where is that gonna be at? Usually they'll expand the pit to add the orchestra sections.
It is at cricket amphitheater in chula vista. Yeah could be that they will expand it to the orchestra.
You're lucky there's even going to be a pit at your show. The Shoreline here has no pit (unless you count the grass way up top) so its going to be the first NIN show that I stand at seats for. None the less, it should be an awesome show cause Trent is one of the best people to see live, Jane's Addiction is an awesome live experiance as well and we get to see Tom Morello's new band. Not too shabby!

I have yet to see Janes but I have seen NIN well over two dozen times all over the country. I get to see them a little over a week later at Sasquatch. I am pretty happy about the pit situation though. I haven't had GA tickets since the club tour they did a few years back. Tenth row at red rocks last year was pretty sweet though.
Fuck yes!!! Pearl Jam - Ten coming on March 24th. Kickass!
I really want to get some people together to play through the entire album when it comes out...but I don't know if I can get enough PS3 players to do so...but still WOOHOO TEN!!
Edit: I wonder if they'll add Brother to the album since it's being released with the re-issue of Ten

Talk about a blast from the past. Did they do a song about sleeping on your arms? I've been trying to find that blasted thing for ages.
That was The Vacant Lot.
The Papa Roach thing is kind of disappointing. Not sure if I'll get it now. After hearing a song a bunch of times, those small differences bug me. Maybe I'll just save my points for Pearl Jam - Black.

I remember there was a Best Buy promotion for the re-issued Ten where if you pre-ordered it, you would receive codes for three songs. I believe they were a live version of Alive, State of Love and Trust, and Brother. If those are anything like the same Disturbed promotion back in June, they'll be available on Xbox Live, probably separate from the album.
They will also probably screw up their promotion like they did with the Disturbed tracks and not actually send out those codes.

Gonna be my pump up vocals song.
I mean, it's fun and all, but it's incredibly repetitive.
I Got You would be so much better.
AC/DC Live is indeed available in Australia for all consoles I believe.
I would love an Arrogant Worms pack.
I'll have to look that up. I never heard of the blokes/girls.
I was thinking more something like I Mother Earth in the Edwin years.
Hell, I'd even go for some Our Lady Peace, Tea Party, Moist, The Watchmen, The Hip...
What was mainstream in the 90s.
