Graphic card woes

Hello,
Maybe someone who is familiar with ATI catalyst can help... Im having problems with The Witcher Enhanced Edition with black horizontal stripes in game. Googling the problem suggested disabling some anti-aliasing features but that didnt help. I dont really have much clue what anti aliasing is or what the the magical sliders do, does anybody have any ideas what might be causing it? The problem seems to occur after talking with NPCs, so Im thinking it might be a glitch in the game rather than the graphics settings. All drivers up to date. Its a shame because it's spoiling an otherwise awesome game.

Thanks for any help.

I found this on the wikipedia site for The Witcher:

"The Witcher Enhanced Edition also introduced some problems, most notably the "Cutscenes causing blurred graphics" bug which was not present in earlier versions of the game. The bug manifests in a way that all textures become blurred immediately after the player exits any cutscene or dialog, and remain blurred until the game is reloaded. On December 23, 2008 CDProjekt released a hotfix that addresses the issue, as well as fixing problems with EAX technology.[31]

The patch has been proven to work in some cases, but not always. After applying the hotfix above many users reported that ingame FMV scenes have only sound and black screen instead of video. For some people the blur still remains after the patch. Inability to start the game also appears to be fairly common."

Did you happen to install that patch they mention?

Thanks for this, the patch seems to have worked! I wasnt previously aware of this fix, I guess I assumed all fixes would be included when I updated....

    Thanks again!
