The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I maintain that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the funniest thing currently available for regular television viewer consumption.
Granted, I still love the Office and 30 Rock, but IASP is just fucking ridiculous.
An interesting thing I've noticed over the years is that the kind of people who are fucking hilarious in movies (of late, mostly Apatow-related movies) are not stand-up comedians, nor would they make particularly good ones. Also, that most stand-up comedians, when they inevitably try to make movies, don't make very good ones.
Sarah Silverman can be funny, but most of her jokes are "Oh my god did a girl just say that" and its retarded, and her face looks like a monkey and that throws me, she has the monkey face.
Seinfeld is the kind of show I can only watch for like 5 minutes at a time because its just annoying and I can't place my finger exactly what makes it unenjoyable for me.
Recent family guys have also been terrible, like just sparse with comedic moments or anything interesting at all.
Dane Cook
The movie Waiting. It looked awesome I was a former food worker and it was going to be so funny, and then it was just really boring and didn't do restaurant humor funny at all.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I thought I was the only chatter who isn't attracted to her.

Perhaps when she isn't intentionally being as annoying as possible. But yeah, the SSP is annoying and mostly unfunny.

My co-worker talks about Always Sunny all the time. I've never seen it myself, but how he explains it probably does it some justice
The only way to really explain the show is to suggest that it's about 4 (and eventually 5) of the worst human beings on the planet, and that each week somehow manages to feature them doing something new and uniquely terrible to themselves and/or the world around them.
The first season is funny, but was more restrained, and I think it's really gotten even more awesome in the last two seasons.

I'm right there with you. She's just... like he said... "lol did I say that lol" kind of person... Comedians that focus on their own personal "genre", like "i r womanz" and "i r black" and, like Carlos Fucking Mencia (i r mexican)... are NOT funny.
THIS is why I hate Dane Cook.
His "genre" is "i r quirky" with no actual comedy.

So does Helena Bonham Carter, and she's pretty damn hot if you ask me.

I've never understood what was so special about dry British wit? Is it supposed to be drier than other wits from around the world or does the wit have to be delivered with a stuffy English accent that makes it funny?
And I liked the American version of Who's Line Is It Anyways?

I haven't really watched 30 Rock. Any place I can get caught up (legally?)
NBC shows episodes online, not sure how far back though.
I love 30 Rock, but I have trouble watching it with people because some people just don't catch the subtle humor, same with The Office... tnos of subtle jokes that people don't get or see.

Yeah I think it was that road trip we took with Mel Gibson man, he warped us. I mean we learned about ourselves and also learned we hate those slimey kike bastards.

I contend the bulk of British humor is derived simply from "This person is British. Look at them being improper!"

I know people hate Mad TV, because it's not funny... but it is almost always RIGHT.
When I was a little kid, I always pretended I was the hero,' Skip said.
'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
Does Carlos Mencia still have his half hour show on Comedy Central?
He better. Where else could we hear hilarious material detailing how black guys like fat white chicks and how asians are inferior drivers? That's comic gold right there.

I also originally liked Dane Cook, but upon repeat listening became more annoyed by the jokes than amused.

I don't get it...was he originally funny but ran out of material...? Or is his stalking/bouncing/posing supposed to be funny..?

No see those aren't trying to be funny, they are a social experiment so you can tell which of your friends is retarded.

They started as parody and satire and then just evolved into a genre of their own...
Pure Terribad.
So does Helena Bonham Carter, and she's pretty damn hot if you ask me.
I'd hit it.

Spoofs movies are in general universally terrible. I'll make an exception for Spaceballs, but its the only one that comes to mind.
I guess I'm with the general majority here, Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook are joke stealers and totally unfunny.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Seinfeld, Arrested Development, The Office, 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm are my style of comedy.
Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, King of the Hill, and Blue Collar Comedy is the opposite of my style of comedy.
Stuff like The Office? I can't watch that show for more than a couple of minutes. I get emarassed for the characters and it's just painful.
Yeah I think it was that road trip we took with Mel Gibson man, he warped us. I mean we learned about ourselves and also learned we hate those slimey kike bastards.

Falty towers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fawlty_Towers) is awesome.
If the Office makes you uncomfortable, *NEVER* watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Which still works quite well.
