Yeah, we've gotten Metroid, 3? 4? times over by now?
Semi related note, what's the Select button for the GC controller? Anyone know? I'm playing the game with it, but I have to navigate the start and character screens with the Wiimote, because I can't figure out which button on the GC controller does it.
Try the Z button? I was having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to open the menu with the Gamecube controller in Metal Slug Anthology, and it turned out to be Z. Why they didn't map that to "start" I have no idea, since "start" doesn't do anything else in that game anyhow.
Yeah, we've gotten Metroid, 3? 4? times over by now?
How can I play thee? Let me count the ways:
Metroid on NES
Metroid on GBA
- unlocked in Metroid Zero Mission
- classic collection version
Metroid on DS (both GBA methods)
Metroid on GC
- unlock in Metroid Prime by linking with Fusion
- play the MZM one with GBA Player
- play the classic collection one with GBA Player
Metroid on Wii (through GC Metroid Prime)
And that's not even all the ways you could play it. Damn, do we really need this on the VC?

Was Mario Bros. ever released in any form for the GameCube? I actually bought Mario Bros. on the VC, because my wife likes to play it with me two-player every now and again.
What I'd really like is a more faithful port than the NES version...or perhaps a port of the GBA version from the Super Mario Advance. The NES version is just a little...lacking.
EDIT: Nevermind on the GameCube...Wiki tells me that it can be unlocked in Animal Crossing, but I don't feel the need and it's just the NES version again anyway.

what is this linking you speak of? keep in mind I'm ignorant of all things Nintendo post-SNES. is Fusion an add-on to Prime? so if I get prime and fusion...wham, I instantly get original metroid too?
my plan is, now that im back into the nintendo fold, is to eventually take a trip down nostalgia lane with Metroid (and later Zelda) so i'd like to play them all in order of release if at all possible.
How unlikely is it we'll ever see Super Mario All-Stars in its entirety on the Virtual Console?
On an unrelated note, I'm really hoping for a better Monday than we had this week.
Since they'd probably rather sell us all three Mario games (four, counting Mario Bros.), I'd say the chances of them releasing SM: All-Stars is between zero and not-a-fucking-chance.
Which pisses me off, because I'd willingly pay whatever they're charging for the rest combined just to have the improved graphics.

I would guess not very likely, at least till after all the SMB games are released in their original glory. That way everybody buys the originals, and all-stars. I'm just tryin to think like Nintendo here.

Fusion is metroid 4 on GBA. Complete it and use the gba link cable to connect it to a cube and prime and viola. I mean, voila. Shit, now that looks wrong both ways.
An easier way Metroid Zero mission on GBA. In case you don't know, its an enhanced remake of the original (like resident evil on cube), and completing that unlocks metroid for gba play without a need for any more hardware/software.
And as said earlier, you can get it as part of the NES classics range on gba.
Available on DS eh? I'm assuming thats through Hunters, yeah?

I think you know the answer.
All Stars would be a cool like, Christmas present or something from Nintendo, or a special bonus to those that own Mario 1-3 on the VC.
I'm sorry if this has been brought up (I don't want to invest the time to read the last 93 pages)
I REALLY want Secret of Mana to be on VC!
(Also likely brought up before) Is there consensus that there is next to no chance that a third party game that only appeared on Playstation (i.e. FF7)?
If by some miracle Sony pisses away square and this happens, I will have officially died and gone to the Playboy Mansion.

Shrug. Castlevania: SotN is going to be on the 360, so I guess it's possible, depending on Squeenix and the publishing agreement.

I don't have a DS or GBA though. Maybe i'm understanding it incorrectly but all of those methods involve a DS or GBA. Not that i'm opposed to getting a DS, I just don't wish to get one at this time.

Meh, you could get Metroid Prime and borrow fusion + GBA + cable off someone, then it would have it unlocked on you GC.
Where is the wiki or help website for connecting your Wii to a router? I got a Linksys Wireless G (WRT45G or whatever the that most popular one is).
Don't know, but always try changing the router to channel 1 or channel 11. Then try connecting the Wii to the internet. If you haven't tried those channels already.

Um...I have that same router. I didn't have to do anything but use the menu to set it up. Entered SSID, WEP password, and I was good to go.
Though you'll want to change it to channel 11. Mine was also in mixed mode because I use my DS with it.
Oh, I haven't tried connecting it ywt, I was asking for it because it seemed like a bitch for most people so I wnted th e list of questions people asked and how they were solved, but since you guys said it's cake... nevermind.
EDIt -where do i got to change the channel? I can't remember what tab it's under
NM, found it
EDIT 2 - done and done. Ah, this shit is gonna make me buy a billion Wii points
Unless I'm mistaken, somewhere in Nintendo's site it will tell you (to some extent) what the error code you're getting means. I seem to remember it helping when I got my DS.
Try changing your channel on the router to 11 or 1. For Linksys WRT54G routers enter the ip address of the router (default is 192.168.1.1) enter password and user name (default is admin/admin) then click wireless tab, now select a different wireless channel from the drop down box. Fix is not guaranteed to work for all consoles.
I was having a big problem with those two errors, when I realized that the WEP encryption has to be set on Key 1 in order for the Wii to recognize it. It\'s the same with the DS. (via email, thanks Joseph)
I found a solution to this. I was able to pass the connection test, but I would fail during update with code 32002. The solution turned out to be to enter manually the ip address of DNS that my wireless router used. (via email, thanks jamh)
I would like to add to the information you have posted that on top of what you have posted, I had to change the MTU value from 0 (Default) to 1500 witch it was in the router for the Wii to finally connect and download the updates. (via email, thanks Jose

Does anyone know whats coming this Friday in Australia?
I remember i gave up on the actual real NES because i kept getting battered by those red/blue Wizrobes.
Then i found out that there are red/blue rings in the game that cut your damage intake by making you take just a fourth of the damage.
I felt stupid after that, but i still beat Zelda!
I am also interested. Please let it be Beetle Adventure Racing!

I don't think anyone knows for sure.
I'm guessing it'll be Mario Kart 64, since that's the "featured" N64 game for January in Japan.
I'm going to be really pissed if they keep up only 1 N64 game a month for much longer.
