Who wants thread rights? :P I could try, but I think a game like that could use a special touch.
Makes me feel kinda guilty for buying some VC games, but I doubt Nintendo will ever make an SNES collection as awesome as this.
Oh, and FEAR 2. Though I'll probably wait until I'm done replaying the first game.
No kidding. Can you imagine how awesome an HD remake of SNES games would be? (though I guess it wouldn't technically be a HD remake on the Wii, but you get the idea)
What's Flower all about anyway?

Retro Game Challenge is one of the few DS games I really want to try.

Oh, er...
Hm...
Basically, you're a flower petal that flies around in a series of levels. Your goal is to touch flowers, which makes you bigger, and your goal is to cleanse the land. So, I guess, Fl0w meets Okami?
And it's controlled entirely by sixaxis - very well, apparently. It's supposed to be a very relaxing, "artsy" game, though with more actual content than Fl0w.

I might grab Patapon too. My PSP hasn't gotten any love in months.
Though neither has my DS. Le sigh.

I know, but I'd prefer to have a UMD.

woah, woah, woah, why was I not informed of this
you play as a motherfuckin scorpion are you serious
Patapon 2 is meant to come out this week too, so I might up that and Flower off the PSN. If the Mirror's Edge DLC comes out this week then I'll pick that up as well.
Nice change from the usual scenario, isn't it? Is for me anyway. :P We got LocoRoco 2 last year as well, so I guess SCEA are just being really slow.
Is, uh...is it super-expensive where you are or something? o_O
It's only $30 here in the US, half the price of most new games.
Yes and you beat the heck out of dudes (and by dudes I mean bugs and lizards and rodents and snakes) with your claws and you sting the crap out of them all the time and all over the place including in the back of their throat.
You can also be a spider and climb all over walls and jump on things and web them up and all kinds of spidery stuff.
And it also stars Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper as these humans you run across/avoid while you're out in the desert.
Yeah, it's NZ$80 over here, while most new games are NZ$100-120. If I didn't already have the PSP Collection, I'd probably buy it but since I do, I'll just wait a few months. I've been burned a fair bit over the last few months, with Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia dropping price just a couple of weeks after I bought them. I'm just going to play it safe, while picking up the games that I doubt will drop anytime soon (RE5, Killzone 2 and Empire Total War).
Does anyone know what's on that second disc of Mass Effect? Is it just the DLC?

What's surprising about that?
Deadly Creatures is a pretty well-budgetted, high quality "hardcore" game, with voicework from Dennis Hopper and Billy Bob Thornton. If any other excellent action game for a console can be $50, why not this one?
HOTD is retailing for $50, but it's not just a typical lightgun shooter. It's far longer than an arcade shooter and it's designed for home console play, with lots of content, and plenty of replay incentives; plus these games are blast in 2-p. It's an extremely high quality game whose replay value revolves around the player and his tastes; not unsurprisingly, if you're looking to buy a lightgun shooter, you're probably going to be a person who enjoys the type of game in which replay is based on perfecting the levels/minimizing credit usage. It's just that there's also a ton of content, length, and high production values, compared to most games in this genre. If it were anything close to, say, Ghost Squad, I wouldn't want to pay $50 either. But there's far more here than something like that.

I know nothing of Deadly Creatures so...
The people who wouldn't pay $50 for a lightgun game that's this good with this much content probably aren't the type that "get into" this type of game in the first place.
Also, many people have poured well over the average hours they may have spent on some typical action game into other lightgun shooters (like.. HOTD2 for example).
I anticipate playing through the 3 hour campaign at least 3 times by myself minimum (once for the first time and story, at least once more to get better/reduce credit usage, and at least a third time in Dual Wield Mode), and at least another time with a friend in 2-p. That's 3x4 = 12 hours, and that's the absolute minimum I will put into this game. I'll probably end up putting in more time on harder difficulties, trying to minimize credit usage, and exploring other paths, and unlocking stuff. Plus I'll definitely do several runthroughs in 2-p mode with a friend, which is glorious. I could see myself easily spending over 30 hours with this game.
Whereas a lot of straightforward single player action games, I'll be glad to have put in 10 or 15 hours.
edit: as a side note I should mention that iirc I put in over 20 or 25 hours into REUC, a mere lightgun game, and I never even played that in 2-p mode.
Do you like God of War? Do you want something akin to that with a very interesting premise and setting? Deadly Creatures.

Also, do want Flower, and possibly Sonic collection, if I can convince someone else to buy it as well for online Streets of Rage multi.
I haven't watched it but I'm hoping this explains something:

From what I've heard, it's alike GOW in terms of the Scorpion in that you have basic moves that you combo together and then you have a QTE kind of Finishing move.
The presentation is also somewhat like GOW in that you gain a great sense of scope as an arachnid/scorion amidst a huge world, and you even see the towering lumbering humans in the background at times (like seeing the Gods in the background in a GOW game).
The spider is more stealth than God of War though, but it looks just as fun.
I haven't watched that vid but hopefully it explains somethign.
I'll brb
