you have level 21's running around in t1, ganking newbies
You had level 60s running around ganking level 30s in World of Warcraft, just because they could. That's how PVP servers work. It added to the fun.
See, but getting ganked doesn't add to the fun for a lot of people. In fact for a lot of people it detracts from it pretty severely ;-)
Well I guess that's why the industry caters to that cowardice play style.
I think for a lot of people though, the danger involved adds another level to game play. If a higher level came and killed you while you are questing, are you going to go elsewhere (if he is sticking around) or rally some people and take him out?
Servers also usually settle in and you have defenders. These are higher level folks who enjoy running around their own realms and killing gankers.
I've never understood some peoples aversion to dying in ORVR. I once had an Ironbreaker spend 5 minutes swimming all the way to the back of the lake in DragonWake then snare&knockback and run away again to shore. Fuck, I would have just suicided rather than spend that long running away.
I'm probably going to resub this Sunday so I was wondering a couple things. Mostly, I used to be in T6M, is that guild still going, maybe a low level alt guild (think my witch elf was 18ish)? Also, how are WE these days? Still painfully crappy in keep sieges?
Witch Elves are naked hos. Make a witch hunter on badlands. Bros b4 hos!
I had considered this but back when I played, there was endless bitching abut how WE were superior to WH in about every way.
Well, the bitching is still there and it's still true.
Witch hunters are actually getting nerfed in the next patch. Not that hard, but they're still getting nerfed. For some stupid non-sensical reason. If there's two classes that don't need nerfs, it's witch hunters and squig herders and they're nerfing at least one of them.
Witch Elves are getting every single nerf that Witch Hunters are getting, plus a giant extra scoop of Nerf Flakes, so at least all the Order-side whimpering has had some effect. At least now Ironbreakers can be taken out by...er...something.
Plus, at least one WH Execution is getting a damage buff, and rootbreak powers will no longer remove the WH version of Enfeebling Strike, so if anyone has a reason to complain about the 1.2 patch changes, it sure as fuck isn't Witch Hunters.
And most importantly, the fix to Pick Lock means that both classes have the post-patch potential to be roughly a fuck-ton more effective in keep sieges than before.

Because it's fun to annoy the people trying to gank you.
I've actually gotten to enjoy it when 1-2 people try and take out my T1 Zealot in ORvR or scenarios, since then I get to play That Annoying Bastard That Just Won't Fucking Die.
Detaunt, stack HoT's, damage shield, big heal while the damage shield is up, insta-heal morale, play the Benny Hill theme while I run around with some doofus on my tail trying so very hard to kill me that they don't notice everyone else ganging up on them. Then I /laugh at their corpse, or /wave at them as they flee back to safety.
What makes it even more fun is when their single-minded quest to Kill The Healer fucks them up even more spectacularly. Yes, level 21 Witch Hunter looking for cheap thrills in the T1 OvC ORvR lake, let me introduce you to the Destro warcamp guards who can instagib you. Nice hat! Hey, Ironbreaker and Shadow Warrior tag team who chased me across half of Khaine's Embrace to finally kill me, and then get squished by Khaine's Wrath in the middle of gloating over my corpse since I'd distracted them from guarding the Order-side flag. Bwah-hah-hah!
I'm sure this feeling of semi-vincibility won't last past T1, but it's sure fun now.
Well, until WHs get the anti-healing bullets, at least.
Anti-self-healing.
Man, I *wish* those bullets affected all heals that the target got.
It'll be nice that the bugs where Sever Blessing was removing the Confession debuff got fixed, and how Repel Blasphemy won't blow all our Accusations when we use it...
Anyone who thinks that WH's needed nerfs are crazy in the mind-worms.

which goes back to what I've said before, it's a matter of perspective
if you're that concerned about getting ganked, you probably want to stick with a core server
it's like trying to explain to a guy that prefers brunettes why you prefer redheads
you can explain your rationale, but as someone that doesn't share that preference they're not really gonna get it
so when a higher level char ganks me, I just roll with it most of the time and to me that possibility makes it more fun
but you'll never really get that because that same occurrence bothers you much more
it's cool, we just have diff perspectives on it
but I do find it funny that so many people assume that someone's ganking because he sucks at pvp or wants to feel like a big man, then I see them do the same thing because hey there's a group of lowbie order doing a pq that a smaller group of lowbie destro want to do so you bring in your level 20 and try to drive them off so your side can do the PQ

anti self healing bullets? that is some bullshit
I can guarantee you that on my dok, an equal level WH that gets the drop on me has the advantage and he can already snare me if I try to disengage
I realize they're supposed to be strong against a squishy like me, and I'm ok with that
but keeping me from healing myself is just fucking ridiculous unless there are some significant restrictions on that ability
edit: I should add that I've never played a WE so if they already have a similar ability then that's a different kettle of fish

Witch Elves and Witch Hunters both get roughly the same 2 anti-healer abilities.
An ability that reduces self-heals by 50% (Kiss of Death / Blessed Bullets Of Confession) and if they spec for it an ability that reduces all heals (self or incoming) by 50% (Black Lotus Blade / Punish The False).
I'm not sure if the DoK/WP melee heals are impacted by these debuffs, though.
He can basically gimp your healing output by 50%. What did you maybe expect? A WH is supposed to be scissors to your paper. When he says "anti-self-healing", he means that this particular skill can reduce your healing output, but it has no effect on your teammates' ability to heal you. To do that, he has to spend points on a mastery ability. And for the record, Witch Elves get a nearly identicalcombo. If anything, I'd say the Witch Elf version is significantly better because it doesn't require them to use their combo points every 5 second in order to keep the healing output debuff up. If you think the Witch Hunter combo needs a nerf, then the Witch Elf combo needs a double helping of the nerf stick because it's significantly more versatile.
but if they get an ability that completely stops any self healing that would be bs
Oh ok, I see what you're saying. Rest easy, there's nothing in the game that I know of that reduces self-healing by 100%. Two debuffs of the same type don't stack, so it's not like two -50% incoming healing debuffs will nullify all incoming healing. You can combine a 50% outgoing healing debuff and a 50% incoming healing debuff on a healer to make their self-healing effectively 25% of normal, though. I think that's the worst-case scenario, though.
You know, its kind of funny. On my Magus...I never once worried about a WP fighting me. I could dot them up and anytime they tried that heal with the burst/hot I could interrupt it. It basically lead me to easily solo them and I never worried about them trying to fight me.
On my squig herder, though. Damn. If I don't start a good kite session, I am toast in like three seconds.
I'm not sure if the DoK/WP melee heals are impacted by these debuffs, though.
They are not. Basically they aren't affected by any of the things that affect normal, cast heals. That includes things that modify healing crit percentages and the like, as well as heal cuts.

indeed, they are purely based on their damage output, which in-turn is based on strength/weapon skill.
I believe DoKs and RPs used to get 5 second 100% heal reduction tactics, but those got nerfed down to 50%. The only 100% heal reduction I know of now is the WH level 4 morale Excommunicate--there may be others, but I don't pay real close attention to all the level 4 morales.

but disables stop them.
Or interrupts in the case of the channeled lifetaps. Having played a melee-spec DoK, when fighting one on my Knob or IB I'm always looking for Rend Soul's distinctive channeling animation, because that's the time to throw an interrupt. Having been on both sides of that fight, I know that a lot of a melee DoK's effectiveness is going to depend on how many interrupts and casting setbacks they suffer on their Rend Soul over the course of the fight.

Well Phantom worked like a charm, but I couldn't find a mod to clean up the action bars that didn't also fuck with the cooldown timer art.. which I find OK and don't WANT to be competely black while on cooldown so I can't see the skills.. stupid mod.
I'd also like one to get rid of the little arrows on the action bars that switch between them... cause I never utilize that function.
I didn't see any responses to this so sorry for the post resurrection. Try NAMBLA to clean up the action bars. It does reduce the white-out that occurs on cooldown, but it's still quite noticeable, especially with the countdown timer it adds. It also removes the bar-swap buttons, as well.

Our Kisses are getting nerfed this patch.
From unmitigatable morale damage to a damage type. Same with WHs. Same with all procs for every class and every weapon.

Yeah, I'd be whining about the damage type changes for my BW as well, but we're all in the same boat for once.
Let's just hope that the new resist changes are enough.
Man, I love having one other person around who doesnt just want to fuck around in phoenix gate. This PuG WElf and I won a PG in like 10 minutes. The order team never sent anyone to guard the flag, so one of us would grab the flag while the other snared/distracted/rooted the people who tried to follow.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I actually realized Vertigo does exactly what I want and I'm already using it.
(/vertigo pager 1 hide in case anyone was wondering. Replace 1 with the number of the hotbar you want to modify)
I've got my UI almost exactly as I want it for now, save for a few little things. I want to get rid of Meta Hud, and have my hp, friendly hp, and target hp as horizontal bars along the top of my action bars.
Every mod I've tried has one problem or another. The closest is Pure, but I hate that the bars are so damn bright and you can't change the text/colours much.
I wish Squared worked on those frames, but it doesn't seem to.
Here's my UI so far. Things I'm most proud of/loving: mounting my morales along the side of the minimap, having the tactics out of the way, and finally getting the combat log window to be totally unobtrusive.
The blue ugly bar at the very bottom center is Twisted...

Actually, it seems that Witch Hunters might be getting a better deal out of that change than Witch Elves.
WE Kiss damage is being changed to Corporeal damage, which is the same type as most Sorcerer attacks. I'm pretty sure most Order folks are already stacking Corporeal resists.
WH Bullet damage is being changed to Spirit damage, which is done primarily by Swordmasters and Archmages. I'm pretty sure almost nobody Destro side intentionally stacks Spirit resists, since Order's RDPS classes do Elemental and Corporeal damage.

So I've somehow moved my "Your Status" UI element off the confines of the screen and it is now unclickable. Any idea how to get this back without reverting all windows to default? As you can see there is a shit ton of custom shit on my UI and I don't want to spend an hour getting it back to the way it is..
Is there a config file I can edit to move that window into view so I can do shit with it?

I like it. I would personally prefer to have my Morales closer to my avatar, but generally that's a real nice clean UI.
So all you are using for that is Vertigo?

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Oh god no. All Vertigo is doing there is keeping my actionbars at 9 buttons each and removing the little page turning arrows. I've got a lot of addons combined.
It was never actually meant to be functional. I was just playing with textures since my normal UI doesn't make use of them

I've settled on Pure, but the maker needs to add more functionality with sizing (longer widths without absurd heights) and font changes (colour, size, etc)
so I climbed the hill in stonetroll too quickly and I got chickened. I survived however long the chicken thing lasts and I was following our flag carrier. well I turned into my normal cute little git self, but I still had only 1hp from being a chicken. Right at that moment the trolls threw a boulder at the ground. The ones that knock you up and do like 300 damage? Instagibbed.
Also, ding 17. What are we doing about the guild situation?

Ok, Point of Contact in Undead Lords to get tagged are:
Xers, Gitma, Terrox. They're probably anonymous so just try sending them a tell during the evening. I'm gonna get my guy tagged up to tag people as well so I can just idle and holler at me when you need one.
When contacting them, please reference yourself as T6M and a friend of Thero/Zophar.
None of those 3 are on at the moment, so the waiting game begins. Also I'm bummed that the Test Server isn't ready to go until next week.

On my squig herder, though. Damn. If I don't start a good kite session, I am toast in like three seconds.
They are not. Basically they aren't affected by any of the things that affect normal, cast heals. That includes things that modify healing crit percentages and the like, as well as heal cuts.
but disables stop them.
indeed, they are purely based on their damage output, which in-turn is based on strength/weapon skill.

(see image for what i'm referring to)
I like it. I would personally prefer to have my Morales closer to my avatar, but generally that's a real nice clean UI.
So all you are using for that is Vertigo?
Oh god no. All Vertigo is doing there is keeping my actionbars at 9 buttons each and removing the little page turning arrows. I've got a lot of addons combined.
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
Also, ding 17. What are we doing about the guild situation?
None of those 3 are on at the moment, so the waiting game begins. Also I'm bummed that the Test Server isn't ready to go until next week.
