Which destruction classes are well balanced?

I really enjoy PvP and I rolled a squig herder when release came and I just didn't click with the game I guess.
I'm going to give it another go, and want to choose something I can have fun with, meaning, something strong, or at least middle of the road.

Well balanced is a dayto day thing depending on who whines the msot. Now strong.....that we can help with.

Disciple of Khaine that a Sacrifice spec heal the group a decent and make you a one man killing machine that can take on Champions and such a few levels higher solo. http://discipleofkhaine.wikispaces.com/

Squig herders don't suck anymore. There's the big banf of 1 Seocnd Plink spec or Quick shooting. The melee path still needs some tweaking, but it will never be as versatile as an Assault Shadow Warrior. http://www.squigherd.com/
    http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231301

Tanks I don't knwo much about. Blackguards are pretty meh though, they got overnerfed in beta.

If you don't want to heal at all with a DoK and have good damage, Choppas or Marauders are the way to go. Witch Elves are good, but you need a healer or the patience in knowing you will die all the time. On the other end, if you don't want to heal in the thick of things, go Zealot for now. I had a Shaman and got him to 40, he was a pain to level when I was solo, and the heals were very underwhelming and didn't get much of any bonus from stats. It was smarter to go the damage path or Da Green for utility.

    NERD RAGE.

Just got done with the worst Pheonix Gate ever. Less than five minutes in, both teams have captured eachothers flag, and Order expoits ours up into their spawn. Neat! So we farm the shit out of them outside their spawn until around seven minutes left and I end up with the flag. Three minutes left, we abruptly go from farming them to packing our shit and running, but no one remembered to heal the flag carrier. So they kill me and win.

    Fuck that noise.

Just got my Bright Wizard to 10 on the Trial and I have my Ironbreaker at 6. This game is a hell of alot of fun, but, I don't think I'm gonna subscribe. I had a horrible framerate during the Beta and this was progressed to only semi-decent, all this on the Fastest Framerate setting.

I think it's time to upgrade the ole' rig but I just don't have the money and probably won't for awhile. Ugh. I am really tempted to buy the game anyways though, even with the problems I'm having it is still excellent.

My favorite memories of Phoenix Gate have been as a white lion, on the repeater ballista that is accessible from the spawn point. Just run over to it, summon my kitty, sic my kitty on a shaman or something, and then mount the repeater and just pew pew pew. Get off the gun every now and again to respawn my kitty, and keep it on defensive so it'll start attacking something that I've hit if its current target dies or whatnot.

Just about guaranteed top damage every time, and a great way to disrupt casters, hold up fleeing opponents, and generally just throw a wrench into an otherwise threatening charge. I really wish there were more siege weapons in higher tier scenarios.

Yeah, you can unlock the classes via the event so that you can play them next week (starting the tenth, I believe), while those who do not unlock the classes through the event will have to wait until the week after (the 17th, I believe).

No clue about whether a level 9 can manage the unlock, but if it's like the Heavy Metal live event (that allowed people to unlock the Knights of the Blazing Sun and Black Guard classes early), then yeah, you should be able to manage it. You'll just need to log in each day and complete that day's event objective. In Heavy Metal, it was stuff like doing something specific in the event's scenario, or complete all three stages of a public quest.

Alright, I've got a 9600GT, 2Gb of ram and a 5000+ Dual Core cpu. I was running at 1024x768 on medium settings and I used to get 20-30 fps in just regular old running around the T1 zones. RvR was.. rather difficult.
Which is kinda why I didn't bother with it after the first month.
If I decide to resubscribe does anyone have any clue how to make it run better? Or will I have to get more ram or a new video card?

Are you sure you're not having your video card settings force a massive amount of AA or something? I ran high at 8800gt, 1.8 gig dual core athalon, xp, 2gb ram, and a pretty shitty HDD no problem.

Really? 8800GT, 1.8 C2D, 2GB RAM with a Raptor drive and I pretty much turn the thing to Best Framerate for RVR, because otherwise it drops into "ah fucking hell I can't even click-select mobile targets any more gngngngngn". I have to agree on the leveling at through PvE. At no point should I have have to hop into one of the other pairings. Not once. Ever. If you're going to tell a story through all these quests and PQ's, don't make me hit the pause button and pick it up days later becasue you still ahven't got the scaling of the XP right. I'm on my 4th guy now and I am sick to death of having to hop back and forth over and over.

From the first moment to the last quest in Ch 22, I should have gained somewhere between 35-38 levels in that single pairing, leaving the rest to RvR. Now I only say this since puggers are usually terribad and at least right now we have no TSM guilds running on either server, otherwise we can add in more XP from RvR.

(Plus there's the fact that elfland by and large sucks for quest placement, and because it's elfland. So that means 2 pairings back and forth over and over)

You actually don't need to switch pairings. You need to switch pairings only if you're doing nothing but the quest grind.

However if you mix in maxing the occasional kill collector, PQs (admittedly hard to do without a dedicated group), actually working on maxing out various chapter influence bars for gear, the odd tome unlock hunt, exploring various locales beyond just snagging quest mobs/items etc. it's actually fairly easy to level in just one pairing.

I'll agree it's annoying to have to swap for pure quest grinding but then that's why I stopped doing pure quest grinding after doing it to level my first 40 :P

Yeah, but maxing out PQ chapters is a pain in the ass if there's no-one around. I really don't want to do the same PQ more than once, but unless you have a full group steamrolling the place you pretty much have to. And I haven't seen people just spontaneously doing PQs since early T2.
Also, making an alt and doing a T1 PQ? Good god, compared to late T3 the influence is just rolling in. I solo'd stage one of a Hard, then solo'd the full Easy one and bam, epic.

The above is why I said the below. ;-)

"PQs (admittedly hard to do without a dedicated group)"

But yeah the difference in inf gain is huge as you get up there in level. I remember when I was still pretty new to the game I solo'd a normal PQ on my chosen and was all "cool, it takes a long time but you can solo them if you can't find a group!" Then I got out of T1 :P

Really though I tend to farm my Devastator while still in low T3 and then Annihilator while in low T4 so I usually avoid inf farming outside of if we have a guild group running PQs or something.

I wish they'd stick more blue bags into keep takes. "Oh, you had 40 people? Well, 3 will get golden bags, 6 will get green bags and the rest can go cry home to mommy." Or at least, stick all the possible lower rewards into the higher ones, so getting a gold bag twice is actually worthwhile.

Rizzi, don't run on medium. Turn the settings to "fastest framerate" as you won't see a huge difference really, turn off grass, water, and the specular lighting stuff (both options) and set your spell effects to "all." You should get a fairly decent framerate without losing too much on the game. Now, this was before 1.2, so expect that it should run even better after you patch.

This is especially infuriating to me, since I pretty much only do keep raids, and to date, since release, i've only gotten one fucking bag despite taking out about eight keeps a day. And it was a green, too.

It's gotten so bad that i'm starting to think that there's something up with their number gen, since half the time I barely get above a natural 100 on my roll. Hell, last time I was in a raid that took a keep I got a fucking five on my natural roll. That one actually caused me to quit doing keep raids, since aside from the comparably small exp/reknown bonuses, I wasn't getting anything out of it.

Considering how frustrating keep raids can be what with all the exploiting and glitch abuse, I could spend my time better by doing scenario's and leveling up to the max tier where people who regularly do shit like that can at least be blacklisted, and can't just reroll and re-level to the tier as easily to avoid being labeled as a bug abuser.

Nevermind the wonky bonus system that seems to randomly award people by how much they stand around with their thumb up their ass, while everyone else tanks/beats on the keep lord, or beats on the door. A couple times now i've seen people who stand in the back doing nothing (And a couple times, trying to play armchair commander, while the group leader is trying to get people to listen to him.) who have gotten a +500 bonus.

There seems to be an extremely large coincidental connection from doing less and getting more.

I encountered it very often as well.
Sometimes I would come into a PQ at the tail end, beat on the boss a bit, and get the best bag. Happened a few times.

More often, I would be there from the beginning, and get the best contribution score, and get absolutely shit all.

I'm pretty sure that the human tendency to remember those more noteworthy times you either felt you didn't earn the bag you got or didn't get the bag you felt you earned are skewing everyone's perception of keep bag rolls. I'm not saying the system isn't broken, it does seem to be pretty random how contribution for keeps is derived. However beyond that I don't believe the rolls are skewed off what one would expect from a truly random result. The simple reality is that most people are utterly terrible at estimating the probability of an event, or even worse, the probability of a series of events. Because of how most people think about probability, it's pretty much inevitable that any random loot roll system is going to piss people off and the contribution system makes it worse because it leads people to erroneously feel like they earned something they didn't get or got something they didn't earn.

The problem with that is that i've been keeping track. About the fifth time I rolled a >hundred in a row I began getting a bit ticked off and started paying attention to my rolls.

To date i've only gotten above five hundred on my natural roll five times, despite doing plenty of keep raids and regularly tanking the keep lord until he's dead (Which is another issue entirely, since I never really seem to get a significant amount of bonus.). Only one of those was a win, which was the previously mentioned green bag above. Either I have the worst fucking luck of anyone on the game, or something has got to be up.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
