Nocturne question: How much luck does the main need? I've heard things about needing 20 Luck to do something somewhere later in the game. Is this true?
In the Amala Labyrinth, there's a series of doors that can only be opened if your stats are sufficiently high. Luck is one of them, yes.
Don't worry about screwing yourself, though, because the level cap is like 255 in this game.
Gaea Rage isn't bad, but its problem is that it costs a shit ton of HP. It's the one I have now, but I'd like to replace it with something with a lower cost and high crit rate.
There's a lightsaber skill that deals less damage, but has a high crit rate, and costs way less HP.
Any tips for White Rider? I've got Daisoujou with all skills, Uzume for Mazan, and Matador for Mazan/party dispel and he still wipes the floor with me. I kinda messed up and dropped lunge, but I'm not able to last long enough for that to really matter.

Petrify the two Virtues. God Arrow doesn't work on anyone immune to Expel, so make sure your main has an Expel nulling Magatama equipped. Have at least one demon in your party immune to fire attacks. Valkyrie (evolved from Dis) is awesome for this fight, as she both nulls fire and has a petrifying attack).
He really isn't all that hard though (I beat him without using any of these strategies except the null fire one). It's Red Rider you have to watch out for, that guy is murder (fuse him as soon as possible after you beat him and give him Focus during the fusion).
If you're still having trouble beating him, you can always fight him later when you're at a higher level (although you'll have to pass by him every time you're at a save point, which can quickly get extremely annoying).

Also, you can fuse Daisoujou and Hell Biker, whom has force-based all-enemies attacks; in this form you can win more extra turns because the virtues are weak to force.
Argh, Hell Biker. What was his draw, anyway? Matador hit like a truck and also had the delightful turnabout of using Andalucia for you instead of against you, Daisoujou is a glittery skeletal god of war, White and Red Rider excel in destroying enemies by sighing at them while Pale Rider has stats halfway to the moon, the Harlot is nigh-unkillable and the Trumpeter is an even more glittery skeletal god of war.
Hell Biker...can hit a lot of guys all at once for normal damage and has an okay unique Force attack. He's definitely the black sheep of the Fiends, along with, aptly, Black Rider. Ooh look at me I know Mabufudyne and can half an enemy's HP with one really costly skill ooooohh

mmm, to be honest, I only used hell biker in the fight against white rider; my boss / fiends fighting team has been daisoujou and white rider; I fuse hell biker into other demon as soon he learned Atack All and I haven´t miss him since.
Hell Biker's draw was that he was Ghost Rider. That's it.
Was he even a particularly good Expy of Ghost Rider? I can't remember.
Anyway, I have a question for you fine folks. (That is, if it hasn't already been answered and my lazy ass just wasn't paying attention.)
Medium to large spoilers following, dependent upon how far you've gotten into Persona 3 and/or 4:
I know that in Persona 3 FES, you get a very special prize for maxing out all the Social Links in one playthrough: an item that lets you fuse a Persona that's perfect for dealing with the secret boss. However, I have heard no such thing in relation to maxing out all S-Links in a single playthrough in Persona 4. Is there a reward, or would attempting to do this just result in naught but disappointment?

Not really a big spoiler there, to be honest.
To answer your question, you get a bit of armor that increases the EXP you gain after battles, but there's a katana you can trade for by the fishing spot near the end of the game that does the same thing. Not a great prize, but it's much, much easier to max all the Links in P4. You could conceivably do it on your first playthrough without a guide, and you're damn near guaranteed to pull it off on the second.

Regarding your request, in as spoiler free context as possible:
Yes.

A good dungeon would throw a few cursory quotes from the first game in the series at you (I remember these sorts of odd things).
A great dungeon would do that and then have a few quotes from Dragon Quest.
An awesome Dungeon not only does both of those, but renders the Dragon Quest Speak in the same Thee-Thou speak as the Dragon Warrior translations.

Okay, guys, I can't find Kanji anywhere (it's summer break)
I didn't start Kanji's S-Link when school was in session and now I can't find Kanji anywhere
It's Saturday and Sunny, so he should be in School District North
Am I fucked until school is back in session y/n

To initiate Emperor, first talk to the girl on the corridor of 1/F at the school (she is right on top of the staircase). She'd talk about Kanji peeking into the tailoring club. Go to the sub-builing and look for Kanji, talk to him to initiate the link. Afterward, you can do this link by talking to him on non-rainy Wed, Thu, and Sun. He is outside the school's tailoring room if it's a school day; and in front of the dye shop if it's a weekend or holiday.
If you can't talk to that girl, then I imagine you can't initiate the link.

It's one of the final dungeons.
The place incorporates optical illusions all over the place. Nothing too difficult if you use the auto-map, but I've never seen another dungeon quite like it.

Aesthetically, it was cool, but gameplay wise, it was nothing special. The floor that constantly shifted your perspective was annoying, so I think after the subtle Zelda nod, it breaks even.
The thing with me is, I only tend to remember dungeons as particularly good if the rest of the dungeons suck. Things like Habiki (very similar to VQ) in Contact or the Barheim Passage in FFXII.
Of course, there are some exceptions. I loved Mt. Ordeals in FFIV.
To get this back on SMT, my favorite dungeon in P4 was
I will either buy Devil Survivor or ignore it depending on how much S there is compared to RPG.
Edit: what? you don't like the girl with he bowling ball sized flower on her head?
That is a flower right?
I don't like TitsMcGee, the cat ears, the super anime eyes, the pocky, the androgyny, the cliche design, the flower thing on whatever hell gender that one person is on the boxart, the Gin from Bleach lookalike, the overall anime of it all, none of that. I hate it all. At least the demon design is good. This main artist though needs to get out of SMT. Give us back Kazuma Kaneko goddammit! Raidou's hat shows more originality than any of those characters!

Someone's got to keep the masses happy while Soejima and Kaneko are working double time on all the brand new demon and character concepts for Shin Megami Tensei IV, so they brought in the second-stringers.

Is there any actual news on the possibility of a real SMT4 or is this just wishful thinking?

If your computer is good enough Nocturne will run well on an emulator.
Yep, but the strafing feature is neat.
I already have Nocturne.

It's nifty to look around in (the dungeons in Nocturne really are outstandingly made), but hard to really explore in.
Devil Survivor's art style looks pretty generic, the soundtrack sounds great though. Looking somewhat forward to it.
Character design..... so shitty..... must resist urge..... to complain about it again.....

And on that note, I am getting the new SRT just because Reiji and Xiaomu are in it(NxC's protagonists).
