It says he creates avatars, which makes me think the constructs might be able to make more constructs themselves.
Basically I'm saying Orange Lanterns are greedy space vampires
I hope Johns clarifies exactly how the Orange Lanterns work. They're just too different from all the other Corps so far.
Don't get me wrong, though, the Orange Lanterns are awesome. "MINE!"
Seriously. I made a couple of desktops of my avatar for someone who asked via PM and haven't heard so much as a peep since. So fuck it. My good will has run out.
So, anyone think the events of this week's release of Flash: Rebirth #2 will connect to Blackest Night?
It does make Barry's appearance in Blackest Night #0 take on a new meaning.
Can someone explain what happened to me? Scans_daily had the final page, but I didn't really understand why
he became the Black Flash. I was actually under the impression that the Black Flash wasn't even sentient, much less a title you could inherit.
Probably not anywhere near the correct answer but the Black Flash to me seemed to be simply the Speed Force's extension of Death, which was shown off recentlly as the Black Racer in FC. It could be that without said 'New God' being around anymore, not to mention Barry's previous state and his race against Death within the pages of FC have maybe tainted him enough to make him a much more appealing host then whatever the Black Flash was using as a body previously.
You're confused: Black Racer is not the same entity as Black Flash any more than it's the same as Vertigo's Death. They may be aspects of the same meta-entity (though Gaiman denies this), but they're distinct.
However, we saw Black Flash die - we saw its corpse - and so it's not surprising that
someone would have to rise into the position
. I interpret it like the Fables: when a character is killed, it isn't that the character is resurrected but rather that some other character finds themselves guided into becoming that character, filling that void.
When Barry "died" and became one with the Speed Force, he inherited some of its internal properties, such as the power of the Black Flash. In other words, the Speed Force is a semi-sentient entity that must police itself. In the absence of the original Black Flash, the Speed Force transferred the responsibility of the job onto Barry.
The role of Black Flash is much more similar to the way the entity of the Spectre works. It picks a host, whether the host is willing or not.
Stick? Hasn't Secret Origin and the current war of light shown that Johns wants ram as much through as fast as possible? It'll probably be resolved before you hear fireworks in your neighborhood.
So, Firestorm is a Black Lantern now. Isnt he alive? I thought only the professor personality/merged guy died? Fuck if I understand Firestorm's backstory.

Don't feel bad Kirk, I thought Firestorm died back in Identity Crisis.
But between the Superman, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm and Aquaman, the Black Lanterns have a powerful lineup. And they haven't even tapped into all the dead villians yet.
Ronnie got stabbed by Shadow Thief, blew up, disappeared for a while, his mind then briefly merged with Jason Rusch, then apparently disincorporated, and has not been seen since.

I take it that's a different Firestorm than the one in JLA?
Yeah. Ronnie Raymond's the classic, Superfriends Firestorm who merged with Professor Stein to become Firestorm, and Jason Rusch is the new, younger Firestorm who got the powers after Ronnie died.

Well, I've officially read the entire SInestro Corps war storyline. I first decided to read this after reading through Annihilation. I have to admit it was pretty stellar. Great cast, nice epic feel, it was definitely the top story DC has put out in the last few years. Though I kind of feel that the first half was better than the second, which seemed kind of rushed to me, and I think it could have benefited from being stretched out a few more issues. A great memorable story, but I won't rank it above Annihilation where big cosmic brouhaha's of the recent years go.

The second half of Sinestro was a bit rushed because DC really didn't expect people to receive it as well as we did and tried to see what they could do to milk some more money out of it.
There was an extra issue of GLC (the Sodam Yat/Ion origin issue) that was made at the last minute to carry some momentum, which is why there were 5 or six artists on that issue.

there were only two artists on the Sodam Yat / ION origin / Superboy-prime fight issue
the issue of GLC before that one had five or six artists for unknown reasons
I bought all the Sintestro War stuff in issue form, so I'm not really sure what all got included in the TPB. Does it have the 4 origin books included? The Kyle Rayner issue, the Cyborg Superman issue, and the other ones? And what about the "Tales of the Sinestro Corps" back-up stories that ran for 3 or 4 months leading up to the war. Are these "Tales of" stories included with the war? Or is that all stuff that would be reserved for an Absolute Edition if one were to ever be made?

All that stuff is included in the GL: Tales of the Sinestro Corps TPB. I don't really think it's worth buying though.
I don't know, Geoff Johns doesn't seems like the kind of guy to wantonly "Sue-ify" an old character. Why, A white Lantern would probably have to be a perfect warrior, capable of doing anything and everything at a moments notice, unstoppable, and perfect in the eyes of all others as well. I seriously doubt Johns would write Hal Jordan as such a character.

So you're saying Barry Allen will be the white lantern?

I whole heartedly endorese this idea

Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Probably the existing ones, I don't think we got creative teams for any of them yet.

He also had a pretty good book that also died.
He's like Jaime Blue Beetle except less popular.

having them in a separate trade is a real shame
My prediction is Hal becomes the Rainbow lantern.
Your theory is new and exciting!
We have not heard "Rainbow/White Lantern" at all since this was announced last year nope
