Plugging in Ipod causes BSOD

So I realize there was a thread on this a while ago, hence why I came upon these forums. This is a direct repost from another forum, as I'm TRYING to get this issue solved as quickly as possible.

Ok, I'll try to give you guys as much info as I can. Whenever I plug in my Ipod to sync it with Itunes, I get a BSOD within seconds. Now, this happened about a month ago, and it was remedied by doing a system restore to when I last reinstalled my OS. I kept my info, but had to reinstall all my programs, which as you all know is a huge pain. I'd like to avoid doing that this time.

The BSOD error is IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL.
The error codes are 0x1000000a (0x000000b0, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804ef13c).

Things I've tried so far:
Uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes.
Uninstalling and reinstalling USB port drivers.
Updating USB port drivers.
Removing sticks of RAM to make sure RAM wasn't faulty.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Ipod drivers in safe mode.
Using Dell Driver Reset Tool to make sure drivers aren't faulty.
Unplugging all other USB devices and then attempting to plug in Ipod.
Connecting Ipod through externally powered USB hub.

All of these things have not fixed the BSOD error, so now I come to you guys, to see what else I've missed. As I said, I'd really prefer not to do a system restore again, but if that ends up being my only option, it will be my last.

I should also point out that it is NOT just the Ipod that causes the BSOD. A friend's external hard drive causes it, both of my flash drives cause it. However, another friend's external hard drive doesn't cause it, my digital camera doesn't cause it, and both external hard drives I have don't cause it.

Specs:
Windows XP Pro
2GB RAM
2.0 GHz Processor
320GB Hard Drive
ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 256MB

I have 6 USB 2.0 ports. Anyways, I managed to figure it out using the verify tool. Turns out a program I was using called "Folder Guard" was the one giving me problems. All that trouble and time, when a simple uninstall was the fix. Just posting this for anyone else who would ever happen to run across this problem.
