Even if Taskmaster won this one, it'd require an even crazier argument for him to beat Loki and then Ultron or Doom. :(

    But man, I hate Nimrod.

All my most pleasant memories are connected to bargain meats and childhood obesity. Ah, the sweet sight of a Clearasiled cashier as he handed me a greasy bag and I shuffled by chunky, sweaty thighs towards the play area to devour my meal on the slide and defecate it into the ball pit.

I once saw a Japanese-made transformers that transformed into a dildo when I was visiting Japan as a kid.

Ive never located one like it again.

If there ever is another tournament, a good rule may be "Nobody who can beat Superman, hold their own against him for several hours, or who needs to be thrown into space to be stopped."

So, no powerful psychics, no magicians, no gods, nobody invincible or functionally invincible, nobody who can intangible or otherwise "wait it out", and nobody whose intellect allows them to create a device for absolutely any occasion.

I agree with Robos, but maybe a bit more open. If Superman is the only one who can hope to survive their attacks consistently, or even dent them, then a fight has to have at least two of these types and they are not allowed to team up(i.e Martian Manhunter can't be in a fight with Wonder Woman, but Thor would be Ok. Likewise, Thor cannot be in a fight with Doctor Strange, but Doctor Fate would be cool)

And a time limit. So Shadowcat and anyone else intangible cannot "wait it out".

Although a street level tourney would be fun. And even allow guys like Cyclops under stipulations such as "No optic blasts" to even the playing field.

Man... the more i read on his past the more he seems like a 3rd-stringer. Who the hell looses to a tied-up Deadpool? Or a parapalegic hero? Or a butler? Or even Antman?

If people could just put better arguements than Taskmaster watsches a lot of sci-fi films and somehow can outsmarts a robot who knows what the future is like! maybe I could even vote for tasky, but damn, what ifs not based on canon dont count, no matter if its a comic forum, a stra wars vs sta trek discussion or a comic-con arguement.

I honestly don't know how to react to people like you.

And yeah, I guess anybody who can't hurt Superman is boring, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Animal Man, The Question, Madrox, all the X-Men, all the Avengers except Thor... blah blah blah.

It's not as though there couldn't be another contest, as was suggested, with only Superman level characters in it (though whether or not Emma Frost can make you braindead before Scarlet Witch can turn you into a flower is a stupid debate, and likely to be repeated again and again with super-fast contestants and magicians and psychics and the like).

Basically, I'm just tired of lop-sided fights where one person is vastly more powerful on paper and (sorry to bring this up), even when the weaker person potentially has a way to win, debates are largely limited to referencing how powerful one person is and how weak the other person is ad nauseum.

    A tied-up Deadpool.

Emphasis on tied-up. Im with the opinion that Deadpool is the best mercenary in the MU (sorry Elektra and Bullseye), and he actually when pissed-off did bring punch Cable up (before Cable post-Stryfe became uber-powerfull).

Deadpool rocks, but loosing to a tied-up antihero is humiliating. And thats what Taskmaster did. Lost to a tied-up antihero. :?

If not for his healing factor, Deadpool would've died within the first few moments of the fight after getting stabbed in the heart. Taskmaster didn't have any of the equipment necessary to stop Deadpool on his person.

Good point, but if you take away Deapool´s ability to heal, we´d also take away taskmaster´s ability to remember every move. :|

Taskmaster can't predict Deadpool's moves, this has been brought up before.

Fight would've ended same way - sword through the chest.

But would Taskmaster have Silver Samurai´s sword skills without his ability to remember? A human CANNOT remember over 100 fighting styles and moves you know.

Take aways Taskmaster´s moves, Deadpool beats him. And take away Taskmaster´s super-memory, and you take away his moves, right? or is there some canon reason that of all the things Taskamster would loose without his ability to remember, the swordskill would stay?

i was thinking about this last night and i wanted to mention it even though it is at this point apropos of nothing-

taskmaster's ability is like this- he could watch someone play a song on, say, a trumpet. he could then replicate all the fingerings for that and, assuming he knew how to make the trumpet make noise, he could play the notes to that song. that doesn't mean he can read music or compose a new song

There is no special skill that says "sword goes into heart."

Plus, without his healing factor, Deadpool would be too busy DYING OF CANCER to be much of a fighter.

That is an unbelievably lopsided argument... "take away the healing factor of contestant A (but leave all of his martial arts training), and take away the photographic reflexes of contestant B (when those reflexes are what kept contestant B from having to train extensively), and contestant A will win." Well, duh.

Taskmaster's power is, when you boil it down, that he doesn't have to train himself extensively and learn new disciplines. He just has to stay in good enough physical shape to perform the actions he's witnessed. Of course he would lose if you took away that power.

I'm not 100% sure what Deadpool's stunt was supposed to prove in that recent issue... yes, we all know that a rapidly healing martial artist assassin is extremely hard to kill, especially in close range combat.

So canon-wise, Taskmaster, without his powers, still manages to keep all the 100+ techniques he memorized? Thanks for clearing that question up.

And yeah, if there was no healing factor, there would be no Deadpool to pierce anyway, shortest fight ever.

If you took away his photographic memory and photographic reflexes he'd lose all his techniques, but that's kind of like saying that taking away Wolverine's legs would make him lose his ability to walk.

Anyway, he wouldn't lose his ability to stab somebody with a sword. It's safe to say that he has techniques all his own based on the fact that he's often shown shooting at people and hitting people in ways that aren't clearly taken from other characters

As a physically fit man he could still swing a sword, and I don't think he's copying anybody when he shoots a gun because you can't duplicate aim and the mere act of holding isn't really copying.

One idea for the next tourny could be to set the fights up by theme. So we could have a Rock'em Sock'em Robots round (buncha bots on Warworld or something, last bot standing wins), an Evil Despot round (each despot gets their country and one year to plan for a conventional war), a Superman knock-off round, and so on.
