I have over a 300 movies, probably closer to 400 now

there's no way I'm going to attempt to watch them back to back right now

but I do like the idea of picking out all the ones that I never watch

Why, thank you :) A huge amount of those films were recommended by forumers here; we have a lot of people with good taste on these boards.

Being John Malkovich was the film that really got me into films, and Adaptation is really good too; however, my parents haaaaated them so much. I have to be careful what I show them!

Fortunately Mori's parents have pretty good taste in movies and Sunday night is movie night at their house; so far they've liked everything I've shown them, which is cool, but also means I have a reputation to uphold now. D:

I don't own that many movies precisely because there are only a small number of films that I actually want to watch often enough to justify owning them, and even then there are some purchases I would undo if I could.

    My relatively short list:
Family Guy seasons 1&2 (gift from a friend, haven't watched it in a couple of years)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    The Meaning of Life
    Life of Brian
The Abyss special edition (it's a pretty crappy special edition but still a movie I really like)
    X2
    The Iron Giant
Blade Runner Director's Cut which was made superfluous by my recent purchase of:
Blade Runner: The Final Cut (ohgodsogood)
    Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Dr. Strangelove 40th Anniversary Special Edition
    Team America
    The Complete Jeeves & Wooster
    Monty Python Live!
The World at War (an excellent WWII documentary series released in the UK in '73)

I know! I think I said $4000 on the customs label when shipping. >.>

But to be fair, the vast majority of those films were bought at $5-10. I love play.com and Tesco. DVDs are perhaps the one thing that tend to be cheaper overall in the UK.

A better thing is all the Bond movies, one sitting, no breaks. And you have to wear a tux.

It got 10 million viewers, that pretty much guarantees a new series or at least a few more specials.

Not yet! It is waiting to be watched along with a bazillion other things.

EDIT: This is why Geek's idea is actually quite a good one. It'll take some time, but at least Mori and I would finally get around to watching everything!

My mother is a huge Bond fan and also a Trekkie

Her childhood was so strict that seeing a Bond film for the first time aged 15 was really daring and adult

And Star Trek was the only TV program her mother permitted her to watch

Seriously, You Only Live Twice is the best Bond ever. Sean Connery at the height of his powers, a volcano base assaulted by ninjas, mother fucking Blofeld. And the best theme of the whole lot.

I don't know if I have the time for this!
I have over 200 DVDs and I work full time. If I average one movie a night that's over six months!

Also man, I'd like to see my brother try to do this, he's got like 5 or 6 hundred.

Oh there's no doubt it's going to take us quite a long time to get through all our stuff, but we're doing it anyway. We're not even doing one every night. Just whenever we want to watch something that isn't on the DVR or don't feel like playing a game, we'll go to the next DVD on the list.

Just because you have a lot of stuff doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Hell, it's all the more reason to do it. If you've got so many movies, it's more likely that you have ones you haven't seen in a long damn time, so you should definitely go through them.

LO THERE DO I SEE THE LINE OF MY PEOPLE BACK TO THE BEGINNING

Mysst has just completed: The 13th Warrior, starring Antonio Banderas and a lotta white people.

If you've not seen it before, all you need to know is that it's Michael Crichton retelling Beowulf and throwing an Arab in the mix. I consider it one of my favorite 'die-by-the-sword' movies, because when you know you're going to Valhalla, dying is just something that happens so you might as well laugh about it.
When you die, can I give that to me daughter?
