I thought I remember seeing a link for a website that had posted a bunch of the sales that different stores are having on the day after thanksgiving. Does anyone have that link? I'm looking for stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc..Gamestop as well. Pretty much I'm thinking of buying a 360 and trying to see if there are any good deals happening before I brave the stores in the morning.

Here's one that has a crapload of sales and where:

    http://bfads.net/

They don't list Gamestop though. However I did hear that Gamestop will have more Wii's on friday. We're going try to snag one early (I think they open at 7am or so)

the best 360 deal will be at amazon tomorrow at 11 am PST

    $100 core system.

get it while it's hot (only 1000 units will be at this price).

my only qualm is that it is a core system...

what kind of items will bring it up to "premium"? a hard drive? a wireless lan? a wireless controller?

Core + 1 HDD ($100) + 1 component cables ($30?) = Mostly premium. Otherwise the only difference is the premium has a wireless controller and the core has a wired controller.

so, is the 360 "premium" a wired only network device? would this be needed on both the core and the premium bundles?

is the core system "wifi ready"? I assume no.

Thanks guys, that website actually helped alot. Looks like I might hit up Best Buy and pick up a bunch of stuff.

So in that vein...any advice for someone that's never done the whole black friday thing? Best Buy supposedly opens at five, so at what time should I be there?

You should be there about 4 hours before the store opens.

    Seriously.

And you will still be very far back in the line.

4 years ago I did black friday to get a $300 E-machine computer from best buy. The doors opened at 6 and we got there at 4 and were about 100 people back in line. But the employees came out and handed out vouchers for different big items, so it wasn't a huge rush inside for me.

Now last year, I braved walmart to get a cheap laptop. I got there about 1 hour early and the line for the laptops was long as hell so I just went and found a sewing machine for my mom. Turns out it was the wrong sewing machine, so i left empty handed and tired.

Anyway, the only advice I can give is dress warm. At walmart you get to line up in the store for the specific item you want, but at Best Buy, you have to wait outside. And if you try to cycle people in out of line, be careful because some people will get pissed and try to get you kicked out of line. Ha.

Enjoy the madness; its an experience to say the least.

Did you (or anyone else) try it? Were you also sucked into the lack of bandwidth vortex?

I actually got to the bot-filter before they sold out. Unfortunately, they sold out before I got through it.

I tried with four different machines on four different networks. All just doing the "loading" thing before I got pissed and closed them all out.

I've been on the lookout for a halfway decent camcorder. Has anyone seen deals for good camcorders on the cheap?

Yes, they're both wired only, you can either get the official adapter (which you linked to) or any wireless bridge with an ethernet connection will work.
