    Congrats about the job Jon!

Here's a button that Lemur designed for me, let me know what you think.

    http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7018/snappybutton1.jpg

    Snappy, I like it!
Mostly because it's a demoman. But with a cat's head. Whatever the reason, I'll be hunting you down for this button...
Oh also snappy, I don't think moe was talking about your photo... it shows up as a link for me.

Hey I have a question: how do people usually carry around these hundreds of buttons? Bags? pin them to something?

Thanks! :D I'll definitely be looking for yours as well!

I'm used to hauling around a messenger bag of sorts because of university anyway, so I'll probably either carry my buttons in that or attach them directly on it to grab attention.

I don't know if this helps, but last year I hauled them around in a giant box that was also filled with cookies... though apparently we have to go a bit more covert this year, so I can't do a Box 2.0. =(

te he =) Yeah, I've got to go more covert this year it sounds like, but I'll still be there with the rest of the cookie brigadiers... so if you see me, buy a cookie! =) (But I digress =) )

I did the back pack thing last year. Also: the lanyard holds quite a few and is visible from the front. This year I'm going to wear a vest.

I've seen em 4 times LOL... GWAR comes in second at 3.
I love the bands they usually travel with. The Expendables are pretty awesome too.

I thought I was probably the only dude on here who'd know these guys. Glad to see I'm wrong ^^. Throw up the Symbol and recite the mantra... which I luckily know better than to post here.

I saw them at this independant music festival we had down here with Polyphonic Spree, MC Chris and a slew of other awesome artists. I got the feeling that they like to be nearly naked on stage.

Hahaha... that would have been an amazing concert. We only get a few cool festivals around these parts... Bumbershoot's hit & miss... Then we get the ones everyone does: Mayhemfest, Endfest, etc... Not that those aren't fun, but an independent music festival would be awesome.

In Seattle they usually come out and tell us all about the gravity bong that they have back stage... it's really freaking hilarious. But, yeah, they're usually shirtless to keep up the surfer feel I think. It doesn't really matter to me though, they're amazing :).

Haha, you should dress up as Chewbacca too! Or at least get a chewie style bandolier....

Nakki, you just reminded me that I'm coming as a TF2 medic so I'll just use my giant white trenchcoat for buttons I guess...
That might make for quite a load to carry around though... I also have the healbox on my back and a large medi-gun made out of a flashlight and PVC pipe. I might have to make a prop bonesaw to carry around alternately or something... At least I'll be easy to spot for button trading!

Yo Jonxp, PM me, I'm quite handy with xhtml, CSS, and I know a bit of PHP and mysql too (taking a program at tech school). That screenshot you provided is kind of vague though... would help if I saw the raw code you've drafted together.
My weekend's coming up (Tuesday Wednesday) so I could work on it then.
But yeah, PM me and we can talk about it.

Heh, I just need a design, with a "CONTENT GOES HERE" bit. You more than likely wouldn't be familiar with the templating engine I'm using. It's a bit specific to the way I'm designing the app, but hey, here's the background code...
    %html
      %head
        %title
          PaxApp!
        = javascript_include_tag :defaults
      %body
        %h1
          PaxApp!
        %h2
          &= controller_name.capitalize + '::' + controller.action_name.capitalize
        #content
          = yield

Let's take the discussion over here: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=81204

Personally I think it needs a little bit of photoshop to brighten it up , since it was lacking sunlight at the time as it was raining, nothing ott though, just some brightness contrast stuff and the image would look alot more attractive, nice dof on it though :)

Well, it's a nice picture, but I think part of the point of the button exchange is exchanging buttons that are distinct to each forum user. No offense, but I would much rather trade a button of your avatar than a button of some flowers with your name on it...

If you were to do the flowers though, I agree with snapty, you should put your name on it somewhere and definitely spiff it up...

If you're not so "artistically inclined" you can always post on here for help... I know maochan likes to help out when he can ;-)

Yeah, a variation of your avatar would be better than something... if you can't fit everything in, maybe just pick a part of your avatar and make that the button? like the skull or the "what?" word...
