TV input for Ubuntu

My father is looking to watch TV on his computer, we have him running Ubuntu and he doesn't have much problems doing basic internet and word processing, beyond that he's hopeless.

I have a TV tuner card kicking around that'll work, but I need software.

I'm looking for something for TV tuning, simple is better. Linux flavour, that will run well in Ubuntu.

Any help is appreciated.

What's the manufacturer and model number for the TV tuner card? MythTV.org has an overview of TV devices that have Linux drivers, look under Video Capture Devices. Regardless of which app you use, you'll need drivers, so that's a fairly good place to start. MythTV itself would probably work for viewing, but it might be overkill if he's not looking to record and play back shows. I've heard TVTime is a good lightweight TV app for Linux. It has a Debian package in the current Stable tree, and since Ubuntu is based on Debian it shouldn't be too hard to get working under that distro.
