Well, we have a bunch more options, which is why I cut this update short. We can..
!Go to Daggerfall Proper... !Go to Wayrest... !Go to Sentinel... or !Say "SCREW ALL Y'ALL" and do more stealing.
I vote: !Go to Wayrest... Then say "SCREW ALL Y'ALL" and do more stealing.
-or-
!Go to Wayrest... and attempt to unravel the "MYSTERY OF THE WAYREST KID" ... and do more stealing ... maybe try some lockpicking along the walls, just because.
Well, okay. I don't think I'm gonna be travelling too far. I have... err... work to do. Yes. work.
Okay, hobnobbing with nobility, while awesome, isn't really condusive to my profession. Speaking of, I need a new place to start robbing from.
This looks pretty good. Off I go!
Oh hey, night time. That means the gates are closed. I'm gonna climb over the walls!
Huh. This wall is starting to feel strange. There's also some strange chanting going on from inside the ci-- AAAAAAAAAAAH!!
*THUD*
What the fuck. I'm inside the wall? They're hollow?! And they're keeping me inside? HELP ME DAMN IT! GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Zaba could see the city just beyond her reach. She would occasionally shout and scream, calling for someone to disassemble the wall. Unfortunately, no one answered her calls. She died a slow death of starvation within the hollow walls.
((OOC Explanation: I fell through the wall mesh. If I did this in the dungeon, I'd be in the void right now. But since the wall is a two sided mesh, I'm stuck in there for eternity. Since I'm not IN THE VOID, and I can walk on the ground, Alt-F11 (the cheat to get you the hell out of the void by returning you to the last place you were standing) is useless.))

Oh hey, night time. That means the gates are closed. I'm gonna climb over the walls!
...I seem to be having a feeling of deja-vu.
Well, no ladders, and I don't have any rope (I feel like at one point I was supposed to) so I'm gonna have to jump down. I'm gonna get right up to the guardrail and jump from there.
Little to her knowledge, the Mages' Guild was testing methods of flight that didn't involve levitation. And so, there were two sticks with magical "rockets" attached to them, sitting right where she was going to jump from. They were designed to go off as someone attempted to jump off them.
*JUMP* *FOOSH*
AAH WHAT THE FUCK WHY AM I JUMPING SO HIGH WAAAAAAAAGH
*SPLAT*
farewell cruel world
((I can't find a death cinematic Youtube, otherwise I'd put it in here. And as for what the fuck just happened: If you jump up against an angled object, you jump at that angle, with your speed added to the jump.))

Oh hey, night time. That means the gates are closed. I'm gonna climb over the walls!
...I seem to be having a feeling of deja-vu.
...Again.
I feel like I should climb up to the top of that overhang thing.
That's a bit of a fall, but I should survive.
*THUD*
OW. At least I didn't break anything. So where the hell am I?
Ooh, shop right next to me.
Although how the hell did I get these maps, anyway? Ah well. Time to break in!
Ooh, a jewlery shop.
DAMNIT. Also my lootbag sense is tingling.
DIE FETCHER.
Not much loot, though. Ah well. MOVING ON.
Damnit! ...What time is it anyway?
Ah well. I feel like pickpocketing because I'm failing at this. But it needs to be daytime. Luckily there are no loitering laws in the Illiac Bay!
Now to find an easy mark.
Damnit she caught me!
HALT HALT HALT
YOU'RE NOT TAKING ME ALIVE! ...could you just stand still while I look at my map quick?
HALT.
Thanks. Now let's see...
Okay, I can lose him and get out of the city.
Ahahaha! FREEDOM. Now to rest awhile so they forget about me...
Zzzzzzzz-snort LOOTBAG SENSE TINGLING.
Damn. Just a bear.
*SPLAT*
Now they should have forgotten about me by now. Let's head back.
I wonder how good I am at thieving anyway...
Not good. I feel a training montage coming on...
Goddamn guards. Can't train my thieving in a town. I learned precisely nothing about either picking locks or picking pockets. Well, I'm not liked here, so I might as well head to a different town.
Well, it's a smaller town. Maybe I'll have better luck here... Or should I just go do what Lady Magnessen wanted me to do?
END OF UPDATE 9
Okay, so I just illustrated some bugs in the game. But what should I do?
!Daggerfall Proper? !Wayrest? !Sentinel? !Train more (perhaps with a bit of external assistance, just to speed things up a bit)?
...or should I
!Say "Fuck You" Thieves' Guild and start killing random people to join the Dark Brotherhood?
Or even
!Something Else (describe in your post)
I only add the Dark Brotherhood option because elliotw2 suggested it.
And sorry about the update, but I uh... kinda forgot about it until recently.

3am, fifteen feet from where my grandfather had just died a few weeks before. I'm sneaky-playing because I was 15 and should've been in bed hours ago. I thought the speakers were off. I leave the Oddblades. It is night in the city of Daggerfall...
So, I sauntered in here thanks to the Xeen LP, and I must say, good work MechMantis! I downloaded this game when it went free and I find it to be...a bit daunting. This thread has encouraged me to give it another go.

I hope I did it right this time.
Update is being worked on.
EDIT: Umph. Update is 59 images of Zaba failing at theft. I might cut it down a bit.

As for my vote, !Wayrest?
Although, I hear Daggerfall City at night is a great place to train thievery.
Yes. But you have to turn up your volume to hear the audio cues... it helps keep you safe while you're picking locks on storefronts.
Also, turn out your lights.
Oh come on I went through that scare when I was 8. I'm no novice to the ways of Daggerfall. :P

Much better than watching one. I was doing guest commentary for a friend who was streaming it. Goddamn those dungeons are boring.
