I'm a bit concerned about the Insane achievement. I know it's supposed to be, well, insane to get it, but from my reading it's far easier to get exalted with ravenholdt as a rogue than it is for any other class, as you need 2000 heavy junkboxes which can only be pick-pocketed.
Better start leveling one up or make good friends?
I'm considering doing the grind as well so I know what you mean. I already bought like 8 librams off the AH >.>
Well I hate that they hit mana regen, but don't change fights that seem to really be mana intensive. It's like they tuned the game assuming the players will play it a particular way and then tune it away from that when they don't. Like playing a table top with a super controlling gm.
It also annoys me in a gearing sense. At first I focused on regen, then I realized that with the raid gearing up quickly, I couldn't spend all the mana I had, so now I've been getting crit/haste instead everywhere. Then the patch drops and I'm going to have to go back to my old gear? Awkward. I wonder if they're going to mess around with mp5 vs. spirit at all.

Yeah I have no idea. And it does raise a point about gear. I remember when there was talk of changing life tap for warlocks so having a lot of stam wasn't as much of a benefit, and it was retarded because ALL of the warlock gear had high stam, and yet they weren't changing that.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I'm actually considering doing just that. I think I might wait until I've done all the other ones first though, in case it does get nerfed.
you mean I get to farm 1000g to make it slightly easier to farm gold thereafter? no thanks
At the rate I respec to raid (at least once a week between tanking and melee dps), it will pay for itself in at most 5 months. This past week, I specced bear to tank sartharion 25, back to cat for Malygos 25, back to bear for 10 man Sartharion attempts, back to cat for 25 man Naxx, back to bear again to finish 10 man Sarth, back to cat again for an 8-man Naxx 10 run, and back to bear yet again for 10-man Malygos.
The sad thing, though, is that since there's only two specs to choose from, they'll both be spent on PvE feral specs. Hell, if they don't do something about how way over-bloated the Feral tree is, depending on how often I'll need to tank post-3.1 they may both be PvE Feral Cat specs and I'll still be shoveling 100g down a rat hole every time I have to tank something non-trivial.

Not to mention the fact that you won't have to deal with the pain in the ass of swapping glyphs in and out.
As someone who enjoys both tanking and DPSing, I have zero problem paying a one time fee of 1k to be able to swap back and forth easily.
Dual specs help the heal/dps and tank/dps classes a lot more than anyone else. Every class has an ideal raid spec and an ideal solo spec, but no one has it as bad as healers or tanks.
considering getting back into this terrible terrible game
anyone want to do the recruit a friend thing with me? 3x experience would be nice. you actually have to play though. if you have some level 20ish/30ish i guess i could catch up
if I was a druid, I -MIGHT- consider it worth it to switch between tree and boomkin at will. but then I'd still be annoyed that I couldn't switch to tank if needed.
but I'm a priest who hates shadowform. at best I'd be switching from full healing holy to lolsmite disc for easier quests/pvp. as it is, I'll probably just take 2 points from one of the regen talents they nerfed and add spirit tap to my raiding build.

For the tanks at least, this became much less of an issue with 3.0 / WotLK, but yeah I think you're right. Soloing as prot isn't that bad, but having to sit there and Devastate spam bosses as an Off-Tank on bosses that don't require an Off-Tank is the worst.
.... I need new pants. As an alt-aholic (whether it be alt characters or alt specs), I'll gladly throw money into this sink. Leveling my druid? Sure, I'll heal your AN run, give me 5 seconds and I'll be overly capable. Want me to tank? Give me 5 seconds and I'll be more than capable.
And I hope when we cast it, our character sits down crosslegged and meditate, like a ninja master preparing to do something awesome.
"What are you doing?"
"I am preparing to learn new spells and talents"
"Dammit, I forgot the spells I was just using, let me meditate again to learn...fuck, I just forgot the spells I just learned"
I'm so glad about the level change. Dual specs go from being largely useless to me, to immensely useful. I really want to be able to heal instances on my druid or shaman without levelling like a slow son of a bitch.
I certainly wish it wasn't quite so expensive though. Maybe 500-600g. At lower levels, 1000 is a ton, and I'll only be able to do it on my shaman, if I transfer him to my DK's server, and wipe out all the funds I have there.

If you need to be healing specced to heal an instance while leveling, someone is doing something wrong.
Druid, paladin and priest all healed with no points in their healing trees. Not super-easy, but not that hard either.
Let's just say that I wouldn't blow 1000g on an alt unless I knew they were hitting 80 for sure.
That leaves terribly little room for the inevitable error of the players.
In fact, I'll go ahead and say that the cost should be stairstepped, like every ten levels if you want to still be able to swap, you have to pay the cost of the next bracket. The cost can still be the same 1000g in total, you're just not forcing it all up front.
Shitty gear is your fault. Unless you go enchanting on every single fucking character and just refuse to hang onto a couple pieces of healing gear from quests. Or you're a RAF addict.
You must have terrible luck to encounter so many shitty pugs that you deem it necessary to spend 1,000g. That's 25 respecs, give or take. You really need to respec that much while leveling?

Necessary? No. More fun? Yes. To each his own, but there's a reason I've level capped a druid, shaman, and paladin in my time playing WoW. Some people enjoy healing, I specifically enjoy healing really well, using the fun tools provided in my chosen spec.

Oh, I just can't tolerate more than a few bad pugs, such that I'll stop instancing entirely on the character.
This shaman was levelled up in mid 2005 and had awfully itemized gear, and no money, and I only finally bought an epic mount at lvl 65(he's now 67). The AH inflates good levelling greens, and the quest rewards are few and far between, especially when trying to build two sets(and I wasted some earlier choices one elemental gear).
I'm also pretty sure that if I were to spend $25 of my real world cash on a transfer, I'd get him the eventual 13 more levels to 80.
WHAT THE FUCK BLIZZARD. WHAT THE FUCK. I CAN'T GET "A SIMPLE REQUEST" DONE BECAUSE OF YOU! GOD! I just can't get this fucking achievement done, ever. I've been playing since achievements came out, I'm exalted with all the major factions in WOTLK and I went back to do Netherwing and I was at 4/5 days and BECAUSE OF FUCKING SERVER DOWN TIME TODAY.
Someone apparently data-mined an item called "Wind-up Train Wrecker." It's unique and BoP and has a 30-minute cooldown.
If it makes it live, I wonder if it will outright destroy the toy train set, or just disable it for a while?
Saw that on WotLK Wiki. Not only should it destroy the train set, but it should delete the owner's gear, revert them to level one, fuck their mother and spit in their Cheerios.

FUCK YOU BLIZZARD! FUCK YOU!
I've been at 3/5 or 4/5 several times now.. and for some reason the next day I'm at 0/5 even though it wasn't even a patch day.
I stopped caring about why a long time ago, if I get someday great, if not, no big loss.

I'm on hellscream and herb prices have dropped to about 60% of what they were two weeks ago according to the mod I use to track such things. o_O

I don't mind it being hard as shit, I'd just prefer it was similarly hard for everyone.

About the same time I get bored with my train set.
I wonder what they'll call the spell.
And I hope when we cast it, our character sits down crosslegged and meditate, like a ninja master preparing to do something awesome.

My lock, nahh. I don't play her much anymore.
My DK, yes, if I start leveling him again. That or my paladin.
