I'm looking to start building a portfolio geared towards photojournalism, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding out about protests and rallies to cover. Does anyone have any idea how one would go about doing this?
Some headline stories might have some events you could cover. Also, maybe try going to large populated areas of NYC, like Times Square, Rockefeller etc and see whats going on right in front of you.they might be small boring events, but great opportunities to capture great shots. Even the small news papers with local news needs good photographers, even for the most small, or just boring stories.
