Tycho makes it sound like there is no real "game" here beyond the playground, which is what I was afraid of after watching the gameplay videos. That is disappointing because the best part of Katamari was going from ant-sized to sucking up skyscrapers and whole islands in one level. It was the progression and the goal of getting as big as possible that was the hook.

The physics and concept look neat but I'll wait to hear more info about the game behind it.

Isn't it only $5? If I had a PS3 I'd probably get it at that price just to experience how weird it is firsthand.

So I get a "502: Bad Gateway" if I try to hit the main page, but the boards are fine. Anyone else getting that?

EDIT: And now it's fixed after ten minutes as soon as I post about it.

The've had iphones since they were released. It's a weird detail to be realistic about, though.

See, it was funny when Charles was involved because he is supposed to be the Apple hipster... now it seems he is dead and is replaced by cameos of G&T's various apple paraphernalia.

Oh I know they've been there since they've bought them.

It's just that both shots of gabe and tycho really seem to be showing them off, having them really wide open to the face is all.

Yeah but they also did that before they had iPhones. It's just the way Gabe draws.

My parents asked me if I might want a Blackberry or something for my birthday

we got to talking about it and then the conversation moved to the iPhone, and my dad was really skeptical of that, saying "well who really needs to be able to access the internet and check e-mails and shit at any time in any place, unless you're in business or something and would need to access that kind of information quickly"

And I agreed yeah, Dad, I don't need that at this stage in my life, but if you're so scornful of that feature then why the hell did you even bring the Blackberry up in the first place?

Yeah...I mean, I agree that at present I personally am doing OK without it, but if there isn't a theoretical, practical, or ethical reason why it shouldn't exist, then you should have it. Or at least it wouldn't be bad to have it. Put another way, there's no reason that I should have to go to my house to check my email.

    How much do Blackberrys cost?

Because you know, if my parents ever offered to buy me something like that for a birthday I wouldn't exactly snub them like that.

It wasn't a snub, the conversation just kind of petered out after the iPhone thing came up; plus, my mom realized and pointed out that the internet capability is essentially the only thing special about the Blackberry, and if I don't need mobile internet then I can keep my current phone

I probably should have just shut my mouth and said "yes, a Blackberry would be great" but I honestly don't want them to feel they're wasting money on me

God knows I owe them so much as it is

I would and have snubbed cellphone gifts from my parents. Cellphones are awful gifts because I think they require a lot of thought from the giftgiver based on the cellphone type and the service provider. Unless you truely really need one cellphones are such a money sink.
I know tons of people who pay 40-70 dollars monthly for data packages simply to access e-mail and facebook on the fly, and those very same people complain when they have no money to go out. It is a pretty broad generalization but I guarantee most people here know someone who buys a cellphone to keep in contact with people, ends up paying ridiculous fees and ultimately doesn't have any money to hang out with the people they were trying to keep in touch with in the first place.

No I was saying that the way they have been drawn it looks like the iphones have been rotated slightly so that the full face of them is facing the shot.

You're right, but it's how Gabe has always drawn cell phones, even when they were just using nondescript rectangles with buttons, so I don't think it's really them plugging the iPhone.

Plus I do know people who hold the iphone a measure away from their ear so the screen won't get dirty.

I mean there are plenty of opportunities here. What if Charles comes in and shows off like 3 utterly and increasingly pointless apps on an iphone as if he is the dude from the commercials...
