You will receive Karma if and when I feel like it, maggot! (At the end of each storyline your character will receive a break period to develop themselves. Karma is included with that.)

So if I wanted to make an attack at whatever is behind me, would I have to roll initiative etc etc? The built-in AI should take care of driving at least long enough to fire off a couple of bursts with the Sakura Fubuki.

Pretty much. It's not like you're really going to surprise it. I'd keep it limited to you and whatever 'it' might be.

Frankie, do you have a suitable spirit that already owes you favors or are you summoning a new one?

Summoning a new one, an air spirit. Just finished work, will post rolls and more in about an hour.

Why yes, I do expect you to give Frankie psychedelic drain.

I'd like to try and actively resist whatever is bugging me, but I'm not certain how to go about this. Crow would be experienced enough with weird and magical events to know something abnormal is happening though he wouldn't know particularly what the "attack" consists of (Hallucinogen? Magic? What?).

Could I attempt some sort of active resistance using Logic (or possibly Intuition, though both should be four at this point) and Willpower or something along those lines?

Also, I think our characters need to be communicating a bit more. It's perfectly understandable for Key to not immediately call and tell us something is chasing her while still in the process of being chased, but the team members not actively engaged in something else should probably be telling each other what's going on around them. Mueller sees the cats on the rooftops but aside from Crow, who is right beside her and can see what she's doing, nobody else has been told "Hey, look out for giant cat attacks from above!"

Y'know, teamwork and all that. Plus, the team doesn't have a hive mind. Characters shouldn't be preparing for attacks they shouldn't be aware of; I know nobody has done that yet, but it's just something to watch out for so we don't have to retcon things.

Otherwise, things are moving along nicely. The bad guys are starting to poke their heads out and things are getting tense. Good times so far!

I forget to check in this section often enough. Missed this restarting. I noticed when pbwiki sent me a message that Raven had been updated. Looks like y'all are having fun..! Well, if y'all need Yumi to make a cameo for a mission or something, let me know. She got a mention already, at least. ;)

Yumi used her incredible cyborg strength and shot an arrow around the world and into her own back.

So what's the situation with the game right now? Everybody is more or less at the rendezvous (Key is on her way in), but we're kind of stuck without some direction/information. There are some bad cat things and some magical screwiness Valkun, should we be waiting for you to post something or should we be doing something else to move things along?

I don't want to nag, but I also don't want this game to just up and die.

How tall are these Barrens buildings, anyway? Just 5-6 stories?

Anywhere from 1 to 6 stories I'd say. Typical turn of the century city scape (not including outliers like New York).

Short story: If at any point you have room for Breach, who is my favourite character that has ever been the subject of HR pranks, I would love to play some more.

As for The Juice, I am sure I can reign him into some PbP if he hears about it.

Same here. I've also got a question, can I talk with my steel lynx? I don't know if I can or not and the rulebook seems a little fuzzy on the subject.

I don't have an exact date, but very soon I'm going to be away from the computer for a few months. Obviously, this will make GMing a bit difficult. Even finishing this quick introductory adventure seems doubtful.

Blargh! Well, real life takes precedence. Don't suppose anyone else can do the GM stuff? Maybe one of the old Bishop players who missed the start of this round?

So...are you guys waiting on me or what? Got a lot of people not making any sort of reply.

I should be leaving on April the 2nd. So we're good to go until then. I'll have a talk with Hayasa and see how he wants to take over GMing duties. So let's have some fun before I go for months on end away from civilization.

Sorry to be a pain, but I've been trying to nut out a way to run a Shadowrun combat in PbP without it taking a week per round, and I'm not sure how to do it. Couple this with me not having run a PbP game before, and my confidence is dropping (though the setting is pretty ace).

As such, I'll have to withdraw my offer as I don't want to have to pike out once started, or slow the game down to a crawl.

Personally, I've been waiting to see if things would get cleared up. I didn't know the GM status so I didn't know if there would be any point in playing. You might want to try sending out PMs to the other players, though, because it's possible they read the part about you having to give up the game and then figured there wouldn't be any point in reading the thread any longer.

Hopefully we should be able to finish at least the one run within the next couple weeks if we get everybody back on board quickly enough. If we do manage to resume playing, I think we need to institute a policy of people posting at least once a day. If they don't post, we don't wait for them and just sort of drag them along for whatever we're doing. That way if people miss a day, they can read the thread to catch up on what's going on andwe can keep the game moving.

I'd say the biggest hurdle so far has just been waiting for people's responses to the presented situation. While I could personally post more frequently than I do now, I don't want to because I don't want to overshadow anyone else. When we're waiting a couple days for posts that are only a few lines, it slows everything down enormously.

Pretty much this. Most of my GMing experience is over IRC so I'm used to getting prompt* responses. I think I will go ahead and institute a once per day policy. I'll keep things moving and I'll just make assumptions about what you do if you, the player, do not respond. Now you really are my pawns, muahaha.

*Damn you and your sandwich unnamed unresponsive player.

With reckless abandon, the man is now running towards you. Every once in a while, he stops to pump up the crowd, throwing kisses and high fiving the air. As he gets closer, you can see the bloodshot veins in his eyes and the occassional falter in his step. And the giggling is unmistakable.

About fifty feet away from you, he pulls a plastic bottle out of his jacket and drops a few white specks into his hand. Tilting his head way back, he slams them down his throat. With his free hand, he pulls something else out from his jacket and points it in your direction. "Alright pilgrims, let me show you how to shoot down some of these 'ere cans." The Ruger Super Warhawk that's now oriented towards you certainly looks real.

Update: I will be leaving next Tuesday (31 Mar 2009) morning. Anyone who feels up to GMing is free to take over the game. Although I don't expect anyone to thrust responsibility onto themselves if they do not enjoy telling stories and fabricating universes. Don't do it out of an undeserved love of myself, do it for your own pleasure.
