I'm headed to Calgary for a week and I'm wondering if there are any interesting things I might want to see/partake in while I'm there. I'm headed out with two other friends, both the same age as I at 18, and we're meeting a friend's brother who is 24 or so. We're all rather geekish, but not adverse to social settings or alcohol. If there are any interesting events happening between Nov. 25th and Dec. 2nd, those are the days we're going to be in town. Now beguile me with interesting places to see and people to do, and ye shall be rewarded!
Where are you staying as in which part of town?
You might want to try hitting up the Backwoods pub, its a local bar in the South East thats very friendly. Its a small bar with a small bar atmosphere of everyone knows your name deal. Could be that I just returned from there but a good place non the less. Kilt & Caber is a bigger bar and really nice bar with great service. Any pub in Calgary can offer a good time/experience .
Try hitting up some clubs, I personally don't goto them but know people that swear by them for a good time and to pick up some tail. Also most of them have drink specials before 11pm like 25cent highballs and the like.
Hitting up a casino can be a good time or a bad time but try to hit up one. There huge places and can be loads of fun.
Calgary zoo is somewhere you could hit up if your into going to the zoo.
I'm not sure but Canada olympic park maybe open for some snow boarding this time of the year.
Eau Claire Market has an arcade you could hit up but its nothing special in my opinion but my friends enjoy it.
If you feel like lan partying it up, you may want to try switch box. I think they have 2 locations in the city and charge around $2.50 an hour.
Theres a place in the south called ruckers that has token tuesdays where all the games are 1 token a piece. Although their game selection is limited outside of DDR and Time Crisis but if you got nothing better to do it can be enjoyable.
Hopefully someone with more experience around the town can offer more things to do.
