Apparently due to issues with Nintendo, the place I pre-ordered at has still not recieved their pre-orders and looks like they may not, period.
Damn?
....that doesn't sound like Nintendo at all. It has to be with the store. I think they are just trying to cover their ass by lying about Nintendo. I guess they think that people will think the company is like Sony or Microsoft with their "Yeah, I'm gonna have to lower how many systems you're getting. Thanks"
I live in a small town and my wal-mart has a shit-ton of classic controlers, wiimotes, and nunchucks. So maybe a drive to an isolated wal-mart will yield rewards.
There seem to be a number of people here sans Wii.
What kind of intrest would there be if I or anyone else found a Wii, paid for it, then offered to sell it to anyone for cost + shipping?

Yea I'm sure thered be very palpable interest
I'm quite sure that people would be interested (I might be). Also, I was wondering about the same thing for controllers. I've seen a few here and there while I've been looking for an actual Wii.
If people were interested, I could help out with that.

If this weekend is a flop for me, I would be interested.
I really wanted one for next week (my wife is leavng town to visit a friend for a week, and I don't think guilt free porn and being able to eat whole frozen pizzas will keep my full attention 24/7)
That said, no offense, but I would have trust issues and would be worried about how to handle payment. Plus I would have to know where you lived for sure so I could follow you around and shoot you repeatedly with a sniper airsoft gun until you mailed it.

No this is true, my store only got 4 Wii's out of a promised 6, and we got zero games and zero controllers, when we were promised everything at launch. We are still waiting for the 2 Wii's and controllers.
I'm guessing there'd be a ton of interest. I'm sure plenty of dudes would probably pay you a bit for your time too.
Depending on how things go this weekend, I may be one of those people..
If I wanted to make money on this, I'd just sell em on ebay and say fuckyall. But I don't like people who do that and why they do it.
That said, clearly there would be some safety measures for a smooth purchase from anyone online, like there always is.
I just wanted to hear some answers before I grab one, if I even can.

Well, I was just saying that paying you for your time wouldn't be a problem for most people. I think most of us haven't hit up eBay by now because the gouging is insane.
Don't forget to add the $90 in shipping some people charge. Thats how they really screw you over if you aren't paying attention.
Anyway, I would also be interested in buying from an Arcadian as long as they aren't so far away that the shipping is crazy expensive (I live in western Canada). Paypal would be the easiest and safest method, methinks.
Apparently the WalMart in my home town is holding Wiis until Dec. 6th, at which point the 6 or so people whose names have been taken can pick them up. The manager couldn't say why, exactly, but I think it has something to do with the weekly ads (WalMart ads are sent out on Wednesdays like grocery stores, I guess).
i dont feel like making an account. What does it say?
It has ads for 12/3 - 12/9

The stuff posted at cheapassgamer is usually quite credible. Stuff like that in particular is usually posted by employees who work at Circuit City or Best Buy or whatever.
In this dirty business of console chasing, I have come to believe there IS no such thing as a credible source. Even store employees are 90% useless. At this point, the only thing I will believe is my eyes, as I look down to see a box in my hands
Well, since this fell off the first page it appears that most people have managed to score a Wii. I just thought I'd post my experience with WalMart.com for those that may not have.
Yesterday the $650 bundle (AKA the 'tard pack) came back in stock. I figure, it's Wal-Mart, how hard can it be to return the bullshit I don't want?
Turns out it was easier than I thought. Items ship individually. So I waited until I had a tracking number for the console, and until that tracking number showed that the Wii had departed the warehouse. Afterwards, I called Wal-Mart customer service and requested to cancel the remainder of the bundle. Just told them I didn't want the rest. Done. They said parts may still ship if they don't cancel in time, but I can simply return any parts to a Wal-Mart store with the included invoice.
And your credit card is only billed as individual portions ship (and while the order comes up as a bundle you are given an itemized receipt by email with individual prices), so the whole $650 never even got charged to me.
It does appear that, as of now, at least one additional game has shipped. Several weren't even close to shipping, though (had estimated arrivals in late December), so I doubt more than one or two more will ship. And I can simply return them for whatever games/accessories I actually want...or for refund.
Seriously, screw the grind. This was hella easy.
Though it won't arrive until sometime next week, probably late next week. But I can't play much until after finals anyway, so fuck it.

I think I'm going to make the drive to Target and Toys R Us tomorrow. Perhaps I'll hit up Best Buy and Gamestop on the way back. I'll do the same thing Friday.

There's a "Bill Me Later" option on there.
So stay with me here. Technically, I could order this, then cancel once I have the console, and return any games that shipped, and none of it would reach my card for 90 days, and even then, only the $250 for the console?
Am I interpreting this right? Because I'm going to start camping this page now if that's true...

More than likely. Except it'll be more like $275...almost all of that $35 shipping is for the console.
But my time is worth $25. My Wii is in Memphis right now, on its way to my doorstep.
As a warning, I have heard stories from a couple others of trouble getting the order (the rest of it, that is) canceled. It seems to depend what CSR you get on the phone. But even if that's an issue, you'd still be able to return them to the service desk at a local Walmart store.
Seriously, they deserve this kind of treatment for putting together a bundle that includes $400 of extra shit, none of which is a second goddamned controller.
I don't know if this has been brought up, but in regards to Nintendo World, it's imperative you line up at 5:00 AM to get one of their 100 wiis they get in daily.
i showed up at 5:30 and I was at number 80. The line went past 100 people before it hit 6 AM. Store opens at 8 AM.
I've been waking up early everyday this week calling every store in my area with absolutely no results. The best I've gotten so far was today a lackey at a local EBstop told me that he "heard a rumor that Nintendo would be shipping them more at the end of this week."

...Awesome...
I had some ditz at the EBgames near me tell me to call back in two weeks, that they might get some then. Considering target of all places seems to be getting new units every few days, I damn near called her a liar and started checking back every 25 minutes.

On Nintendo's website it lists AV composite and component cables. The components are back-ordered. But S-video isn't even listed. I cried.

Because Wal-Mart circular ads come out on Wednesdays, like grocery stores, instead of Sundays.
