Does anyone fancy a trip to Garth Agarwen? I got 9 quests to the place. If you have done Book 2, I can share 7 of them (2 require Agamaur elite quests, and a bit of jogging around).
My RK is currently 33, which is about right for the instance I venture (The quests are 29-35).
I was hoping to do them tommorow, my evening, (so saturday afternoon for yanks).
exalted with the lossoth guys and I have my shaggy adorable pony. so now I have to continue with moria, no excuses. I can't believe I'm the only one that doesn't like it at all.
So I downloaded the game again last night and restarted my account.. wow I missed it. I haven't REALLY played a lot since the first few months it opened. I had a brief stint last year, but I missed my LRM.
Which brings me to my question, are LRM's in demand?? Has a lot changed for them role wise? It use to be we were crowd control/debuff/Mana battery + whatever the group was missing... DPS/Back up healer/Good looking old man with awesome sword & staff combo.
I played around a bit last night and it seemed like nothing really has changed. However, that was all solo.
Anyways.. 45 LRM Brandywine. Good times
I think LM only has one heal with a long cooldown? I don't think it'd be a very good backup. And DPS is pretty ehh, I think, at least on the LM proper.
I can't speak for other server populations cause all the cool kids are on Landroval.
If properly traited, a LM is definitely capable of performing as a OH, at least in a group setting; not having experienced raids I can't comment on the viability there.
My LRM use to be a pretty effective off-healer.. nothing really impressive, but certainlly capable of saving the healer/tank in a pinch. Also, a great healer in a heavy DPS group that is just grinding mobs... but that was a long time ago.
I guess I just grinding solo for a little bit and then start grouping again. Pick it up from there
The impending war between the Light and the Dark has caused many of the vendors in the world to fear for the stability of their livelihood. In an effort to retain business the vendors have now learned to sell stackable items in quantities other than "one" and "a full stack" in order to better serve you! While you have the vendor UI open you can now buy single items by default, or use…
* SHIFT to purchase a full stack,
* ALT to purchase a quantity that you specify in a pop-up dialog
* TAB to fill all stacks of the selected item type in your backpack.
Thank god!
*e; for those wondering what Iornaith's head was for (human starting area, the spider boss)
# Spider-bane is no longer able to be completed twice. You either get the quest from Atli or kill Iornaith and get the quest from her head.

I've got a bunch of quests to do in there, but I'm not sure of my schedule tomorrow. I'm in Pacific time (GMT -8), so it may not work out. My hunter is 36 or 37 now (maybe 37 by the time I'm done tonight).
Err, I presume you're on Landroval and not the EU servers?
Is there a way to export your UI settings from character to character? Really don't feel like setting everything on the minstrel up when I already had it the way I liked on my burg.
Looks like its coming in Book 8. Just looking at the patch notes for it, and voila:
# The client now has a /ui command that can be used to save the current layout of windows to an xml file and then load this layout.
# To save a ui layout type: /ui layout save <name>
# To load a previously saved layout: /ui layout load <name>
# In both cases the name is optional and if not specified it will just save to a file called Default_ appended with your current game window resolution. (e.q running in 800 x 600 results inDefault_800_600.layout)

Correct, I've grouped with Sander before on Landroval.
Also I'm super psyched to be able to buy things in stacks of 15 for cooking. Makes it so much easier, because probably 90% of stuff you buy is from vendors.
Hooray! I just bought the game for 9.99. (Works out to be 12.80 over here)
And I get some bonus in game items or something?
Yes, every character you make gets a token you can hand in after the intro for some vaguely useful items. Just right click the token to receive its quest and to see where you can hand it in.
So I've been in the mood for a PvE focused MMO for a while (been reminiscing about FFXI, but couldn't bring myself to go back to that game again) and coincidentally just finished reading the first LotR book again. Read through some of this thread and decided to give it a shot.
First impressions are really good. Currently have a level 9 dwarf minstrel and level 8 captain, and I love my minstrel so much. Reminds me of my FFXI bard with more badass. Probably will restart my minstrel if I stick with it, cause I want those "no death" titles and I poorly chose to experiment with fall damage ;P
One of the things I like about the minstrel is that its got a lot of buffs/debuffs to manage (though I'm surprised T2 ballads can be chained rather than having to start from T1 again). I know many of them are self only, but does the minstrel continue to buff in team play, or does healbotting take over? If it does, what is the best party support char otherwise? I don't mind healing as long as its not *all* I'm supposed to do Also he's pretty amazing at taking down mobs at these low levels -- I assume this diminishes later, but to what degree? Should I avoid crafts that require killing?
Speaking of crafting, any suggestions for starting out? Currently a Yeoman but was debating between that and Explorer for a while. Both seemed like easier crafts for players just starting out.

I love Lord of the Rings Online. So much that I refuse to go back to World of Warcraft at the request of my friends. Their inept replacement of a Holy Paladin has failed them time and time again, and they need me back, but I will not buckle under the pressure of their request.
Lord of the Rings Online is what World of Warcraft should have been. The way in which the story is presented in LOTRO is unbeatable, and I will remain by it's side! Just as soon as I stop obsessing over these awesome Star Wars: Legacy, Dark Times, and Knights of the Old Republic comics. I promise. Really, I promise.

What's that ringing? Ting-ting-a-linging in my head~? Oh, you're always there, making me whole. You're always waiting up for me. You're my first kiss, ever so pure, and ever so defiling, once lost, can never be the same. Fuck me. Violate me. Deny me.
So how's the Rune Keeper? I've got a high level Champ, but I want to start a new character since I haven't played in forever and really don't want to re-learn the Champ at such a level.

Decent, but overplayed. Really, I found that relearning my class wasn't such a big deal as long as I practiced on lower mobs. I came back from a year hiatus to a 45 Guardian, which is just a clusterfuck of skills that I had, incidentally, laid out very poorly on my skillbar.
Well, I'm basically just looking for a decent solo class to play whenever I get bored, nothing serious. The healing aspect is fairly attractive to me, and she seems to be doing decent damage, though I'm still pretty low level.
Anyone need to do some Dol Dinen quests? I have a bunch of fellowship required stuff to take care of there. Masters of the Siege, Captains of the Black Tide, etc.

Rune-Keeper isn't really overplayed. If it were, it would apply to all classes in the game, with the exception of Burglar, which isn't played enough.
For me, the levels I've played, Rune-Keeper is a versatile healer and an even greater damage dealer. We have low health, but our damage output is so great that our targets are dead before we reach half-health. You should really give the class a try. You should see some the spells we have at higher levels. I've seen higher-leveled Rune-Keepers employ them, and it's so goddamn awesome. Rune-Keeper is truly the caster of Lord of the Rings Online.
Some would say it cheapens lore, but, that's jealousy for what the class and it's players has at their finger-tips.

RK is pretty cool, yeah. "They" say it is overplayed.. seems like captains are underplayed at level cap, but since RKs can be healers, they'll usualyl have a spot. I hope. Since I can't seem to take minnies seriously.
Nothing weak about Hobbit Burglars. Or do you mean weak in that you couldn't muster the willpower to pick any other class because Hobbit Burglars are so fucking awesome?
Sorry to the guys I've been talking to about GA, I got home way later then expected last night. I got my quests done too, but you were right. The instance is quite harsh, and quite long as well.

Sweet, thanks. I'll give it a shot. If any of you see Elindore online, give me a holler. I'm on Landroval.
Yesterday I was renamed to Norris because I survived a fall from the cliffs of the Trollshawls, somehow I bounced off a bit of rock so I only had the fall debuff for like 2 minutes.
After (very) briefly trying this game when it first came out, I've decided to give it another shot. I had a burg up to lvl 20, who was pretty cool but not entirely my style. So, I've decided to give a heavy armor class a try. Mostly because I think heavy armor in this game looks badass.
So, I'm having some trouble deciding between Champ, Guardian, and Captain. I don't have any particular preference towards a given group role (tanking, dps, buffing). In general, I tend to enjoy classes that:
- Have enough dps to let me solo without wanting to kill myself
- Require enough active participation on my part to keep me from falling asleep during group content. I really, really hate it when a class's role in group content boils down to hitting one combat rotation over and over again with no conscious thought required. Having lots of shiny buttons to press is a definitely a plus.
