Also that Gabeart is pretty awesome and reminds me of Evangelion

Which leads me to realize that Evangelion wouldn't have been such a terrible show if it had Gabe as the lead character

A lot of the problems people have with Dollhouse are things that were also evident in every single other show he's created.

Dushku just has really unappealing mannerisms and is a poor actor to boot. But I like the show enough to look over that.

Clearly the point of this comic is that Joss Whedon's penis looks like John Stamos.

I wonder if he had an operation for that.

Not really. Dushku is an okay actor without any range; she's fine as a party girl and not much else. Which makes her absolutely awful casting for somebody who is supposed to have a different personality every week.

The whole personality thing is one of the main problems with the show; Echo literally doesn't have a personality, so the viewers have no way to identify or empathize with her. She's not a character, but she's the protagonist. It doesn't work.

Then there's that it seems to be trying to be a J.J. Abrams show, which doesn't work with Whedon's stylized dialogue.

And outside of the poor acting, the writing has been pretty awful as well. Usually Whedon's a decent writer, but when he misses, he misses terribly.

There's a whole mess of things wrong with Dollhouse. And I don't buy that it's all the studio's fault. Whenever Whedon does something that doesn't work, it's always somebody else's fault. I have never seen the man say, "I made some mistakes" or "I could've done this better."

Joss Whedon's shows have always felt like well packaged pulp entertainment in my mind. That's why I watched Firefly and why I'm sure a lot of people watched Buffy. I caught the first two episodes of Dollhouse on Hulu and it seems to have a similar vibe. I'll continue to watch it to see where some of the more sinister undertones of the series go.

Most celebrity ads are decent, when they're deliberately overacting, or at least not taking themselves seriously.

And Baldwin is usually hilarious when he wants to be.

I saw the first Dollhouse and I thought

Oh dear, they don't vet these personalities for critical issues like years and years of abuse before they stick them in someone? Oh my this is quite the slipshod evil(?) secret...corporate/government/cultish...thing...

And I haven't seen one since but it comes on right before BSG so it is true that I might watch another episode, has it since dressed to impress?

the first episode was pretty bad, honestly.

seeing as I am never home during this show's timeslot I don't mind catching it on hulu when I have time.

Every first episode is bad in a way. It's a first episode in a Sci-Fi series which has to get the viewer to agree to things they normally wouldn't in order to watch. Watch the episodes on hulu.com at your own leisure if you have no time to follow tv's schedule.

To be honest the first episode started off weird but then ended really strong. I enjoyed the second episode as well, there is already a supervillian mentioned "Alpha". Things are looking to get good. This show is no cheesier than Fringe or any other Sci Fi show. My god if you think this show is cheesier than Stargate Atlantis or Andromedia or Cleopatra 2525 or Hercules or Enterprise, then you might as well swallow some cyanide now. There are far worst shows on the air right now that millions of viewers flock to.

This show is good and is looks to be about on par with anything Whedon has previously done. This comic makes me wonder if people out there were actually fans of Whedon when he did Buffy and Angel or only when Firefly appeared. If that is the case then you don't know the style in which Whedon writes.
