I'm embarrassed by my nose!
'Tis crooked, you see.

I hate the vanity of it, but I'd like to have it straightened. Advice?

I understand it's a costly (several thousand!) and nasty (~week recovery) operation, but should be a permanent fix.

My father has suggested I go to an ears, nose, and throat doc', thinking it'd be possible to wangle insurance money to cover the correction of a deviated septum--unlikely, I think.

Eh, it's worth a shot on the ENT. It won't be much compared to the savings if you can get it paid for.

Is it like, Owen Wilson bad or something? Or worse? Is there a chance of girls digging your nose or no?

Comparing him to a highly paid movie actor doesn't really support the case to change it.

No, I'm afraid it can't be considered charmingly unusual.

It's not that bad, but it's enough that I'm queried about it sometimes.

My brother got his nose fixed, and had the cost covered by insurance because of the deviated septum. It can't hurt to at least try (and in my brother's case, fixing the deviated septum while straightening his nose actually did help beyond aesthetics, although I wouldn't say the surgery was strictly necessary in the medical sense).

My mom had a nose job. The recovery is harsh, but worth it. Go for it!
