Cammy is uber hot and it can't be said enough.

she also bleaches her cornhole (you can see it at the begining of the match where she eats an entire apple in one bite). that way when you tap dat azz for combos you dont dirty your dong.

Hell I was supposed to get one for winning the last GS tourney and they didn't even HAVE any to give out, they said they had to special order those bitches and it would take another week. This is torture. :(

I used to manager for gamestop when I got out of college before I could get a real job... Let me tell you, you will never see that fight pad ever. I dont even think they can special order things. Shit my DM wouldnt even let me order the yellow sleeves for used games half the time. They bank on you forgetting about it. Just keep bugging the manager everytime you go in, eventually he will give you his or the one in the back that he was planning to sell on the low. My oldstore has a TE stick sitting in the back right now.

Edit: yes the fight pads are good. almost as if madcatz didnt make them. Also if you dont think the Blanka fight pad is fucking classy you sir are a racist and a bitch ass. :D Also, send me your Blanka fight pad, I wants it!

Thanks, yeah...I will ream them a new one if I don't receive my pad soonish. They can't get out of it either, it's printed all over their tourney crap. I'll start pestering them today for kicks.

You could always call corporate. They are the only people who probably have the power to get you a Pad. Or try calling the Regional Manager. DM's are terrified of that fucker. The DM or RM might be able to find you one and corporate might be able to ship one to you. Assuming they can find one, the RM/Dm route they can try to get one from a store in bumfuck and have them stick it in distro to your local store though.

That's my next step then, I called the manager and she said it's coming and they would call when they got it. Insert eye roll here, but I'll give them a few days for shipments since it's polite.

buns out! - Just something I found while looking... You figure I could find a friggin blank high res template for an SE stick but so far no good.

Even against friendly competition, going 1-13 against someone isn't really that much fun. I'm sure I'm going to give it a shot later on though--maybe there are some people a little closer to my skill level around.

It's true that losing sucks, but the important thing is that you don't get discouraged. After my first day of playing my win-loss ratio was something like 1-65, and that went on for a couple of days until I got a hang of things.

Man, I'd kill to own a sweet [strike]ass[/strike] stick like that.

So, I just learned today that you can throw crouched blockers. Certainly takes the edge off some of these turtles, but the way throwing is set up, I often mess it up and jab instead.

That's because I've got lp and lk mapped to the left shoulder buttons, while hp and hk are on its corresponding face buttons along with ppp and kkk on the right shoulder buttons. I could try mapping it so L1=lp and R1=lk along with L2=PPP and R2=KKK, but that could throw off my ultras as well. The left shoulder buttons are a bit of a weakness for me.

The madcatz fightpads let you map out throws and FAs to extra buttons, right? I'm quite tempted to get one for PS3, but it looks like they're scarce right now, judging by some crazy Amazon prices. Any word on further shipments?

I did quite well with Fei Long today, although once again I had to weed through the usual Kens (and always with mediocre connections). I wouldn't mind so much, but the matches are always too close to comfort for me. That goddamn shoryuken does too much damage.

I got creamed by this cheap Vega player who had 3k BP. He proceeded to use his long reach to just hang back and lunge away. I might have to set up a training mode to find ways to counter that. Ironically, this was how I played Vega back in SSF2 on the SNES. Almost got a perfect every round.

Don't suppose his name was F4MIN with the Vega barcode icon and the "Spanish Ninja" title was it? If so I'm always surprised to see that guy because he seems to gain 300 to 400 BP to his overall score every time I see him and yet I always manage to beat the guy in two rounds netting 70-90 BP for myself

Doesn't show up on my players met list, it was either Fitz182 or Tactical-Turtle. He had the title of "Technical Fighter" or something like that.

Guys, don't give kudos to someone who exploits one or two moves just because it gives him a high rank.

Last thing a DM wants is a complaint reaching the regional manager (that's where complaints go when you call corporate) about a store in his district. RM's will ream the shit outta the DM and the DM will yell at the store manager and the store manager wont give a shit cause his job sucks. but usually to avoid such events they will go out of their way to find you one.

Our 2nd RM was a cool guy and would handle shit like that. Especially if it was something for a tourny. The store manager was a tard for selling the prize (he actually probably kept it himself) cause all that shit used to come in separate boxes or packs labeled Tournament or whatever. I dont think that shit gets added into inventory so it's super easy to steal. Had a few employees stealing the custom faceplates and shit from madden tourneys.

I'm slowly improving with C.Viper. I can get off her super-jumps about a half of the time now if I run my thumb across the pad quickly instead of actually pressing down first. I really have a hard time against some Akumas and Sagats though. I'm thinking of going back to using Rose. They're two of my favorites character-design wise, and I want to improve with them, even though there are a lot of characters I seem to do naturally do a lot better with using.

I tried for 2 hours trying to do C.Viper's hard trial 2, as I'd really like to get her icon. I even re-mapped the controller to try to map the buttons in a sequence which would be more convenient for quickly hitting them. After studying the youtube videos carefully I still can't do it. I do all the moves, but Dan never gets hit by the ultra combo at the end.

I tried ordering a USB saturn controller off ebay, the saturn controller being one of my favorites of all time for fighters, hoping it'll be better than my PS2 fighter pad with adapter (which is a little bulky for my hands). I'm not sure how well it'll work. It is a cheaper option than the official PS3 SFIV controllers at the time, so it's something for other PS3 users to think about that don't want to get hosed by the inflated prices on the official controllers. I'm curious about what the official controller actually feels like though. What's the density like?

Density? Feels solid. Maybe slightly lighter than the base Dualshock 3? Not for sure, but it feels pretty similar to say the least.

Wii's were only hard to get if you didnt have a friend at GS. I think 90% of the Wii's my store had were sold to family members or friends of employees. We always had 1 at any given time int he back room just incase a friend wanted it or we felt like ebaying, or if a sucker was willing to reserve like 4 games and buy 4 wii motes or some shit.

I am so glad I dont work there anymore (I was a carry over from EB Games such a better environment). I do miss all the free shit though. They probably give that away when you buy a 2 year old copy of madden.
I'm so tempted to just get a job at EB and walk away with the TE sticks when they come in. I could totally do it too with all the free time I have now. Living off the GI bill has it's perks, though I don't think I could stand working retail for more than a day.

hit 3 punch buttons instead of 1? (if they are kicks then hit kicks) try mapping a button to the 3P's (or kicks or whatever they are)

Pretty sure those dates on the pads/sticks on buy.com are estimated dates to keep you from canceling an order. many manufactuerers do that. If a date ever is say... 03/01 then you know it's not real.

I'm fairly convinced I just don't have the requisite skill and focus to be decent at this game. I whiff all the damn time, and about halfway through the match (especially if I'm losing) I lose focus, stop applying any strategy I had and whiff even more.

Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow, but right now I'm not really enjoying myself anymore. I'm way past frustration at this point, and games aren't really worth feeling like shit over.

It makes me sad seeing people get so discouraged by not being good at this wonderful game :(

Try playing some people from this board, there's plenty of tags floating around and I nobody I've played on here has been a douchebag. Just remember that everybody learns at different paces and if you're getting too pissed off, just take a break. My philosophy is that when it stops being fun just stop and do something else, you're just going to associate this game with being angry and you're not going to enjoy it anymore. It sounds like a stupid thing to say but it really is just a game. Take your time and enjoy it!

Yeah you need to play with friends.

Whenever I play randoms, it's not long before my mind wanders and my hands just go into auto-pilot while I think about girls and pizza. And then I still managed to get pissed when I lose.

Playing with friends and some casual trash talk helps that.

Last fight was real fun, and it netted me the 10 years too late trophy, a new icon and title, and Akuma's "Ten" shirt for Home. :)

When getting frustrated at the game you also need to remember that if you're playing the computer it's a cheating bastard and it does you no good to play it. Or if you're playing a person who just wallops you theres a good chance he's been playing street fighter for the past 15 years, I don't care what game it is that you're playing but when you're playing someone who has 15 years more experience than you the game will be frustrating.

Your left shoulder buttons should be 3p and 3k, it's hard as hell to just 3p or 3k normally with a controller.
I would recommend remapping the right shoulder buttons to 3p and 3k since you're probably going to be using them a lot.

Go into button config and place HP+MP+LP and HK+MK+LK somewhere on your controller. I've got mine on the right bumpers on the PS3 controller because I want to access them fairly frequently, but don't want them on the face buttons because those need to be for the more frequent regular moves. Don't bother trying to mash 3 buttons at the same time unless you have an arcade style fight stick imo.

Basically, I do the d-pad maneuvers and I press 1p 2p and 3p all at once, and it fails miserably, becoming a super instead of an ultra.

It's 3 punches or kicks at the same time.

It's still not working--but I have managed to memorize all of viper's special attacks in the process.

Edit--I do the d-pad, then I press x, y and rb all at once. I'm on the default control settings.

Your left shoulder buttons should be 3p and 3k, it's hard as hell to just 3p or 3k normally with a controller.
I would recommend remapping the right shoulder buttons to 3p and 3k since you're probably going to be using them a lot.

I don't understand. If your RB is 3p you should just be hitting 1 button.
Try going to training mode and turn on input display, it will show you what you're hitting and you will see where your error is.

    Ahh, I understand it now.

I was attempting to input all three punches manually rather than just using LB.

Anyone else have the Hori EX 2? The thing has no weight to it. I hate it.

yeah, that's like next to impossible on a standard controller.

Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow, but right now I'm not really enjoying myself anymore. I'm way past frustration at this point, and games aren't really worth feeling like shit over.

    Are you playing online?

Yeah, I've been playing people online---I'm staying away from randoms and just playing PA people, but after getting kicked around for a while I just tend to throw my hands up and walk away.

Randoms are much worse obviously since it becomes Sagat/Ken/Ryu/Akuma Fighter, but losing, even to friendly competition, can get old after a while especially when you don't feel like you're making any progress.

I don't know how much room there is on the inside of it but it wouldn't be the first time I used bags of sand to make something heavier.
