Currently I just have my ps3 online my wireless router. Signal strength is usually 85 to 95%. Get disconnects once in awhile but some of those could be the other guy too. Here is my problem. I went out and got the ps3 Bluetooth headset so I could chat with you fine pa folk while sumo headbutting you to oblivion. Headset works fine as match is loading or in lobby. Then connection drops. If I turn off headset everything is good again. Am I screwed ? I don't want to move the ps3 next to the router and use a cable cause that's the little tv. And no couch! Any suggestions?
So much easier to get better at this game if you can chat while practicing.
Nah I aint that good and I live too far away now, I used to work at the gamestop near PZ though the royal oaks one and at the highway 6 one. My buddy Kenny who is a bad ass tekken player started to go up there after a buncha PZ guys came into the store and challeneged him to tekken. Think he met up with them at someone's house and played Crow and got beat-up.
It's an hour drive for me, but the comp is worth it. All the best players chill there.
Yea, I live out in cypress/katy area between 10 and 290. It's quite a drive but I work here in Stafford... almost bout time for that 1 hour and a half drive home. I am so average I would be ashamed to take my weak ass blanka game there. Trying to get my friend on some street fighter but he rolls with all those PZ tekken guys so if his ps3 is turned on it's dark resurrection online for him.
Did you go to any of the GS tournys Jubeh? I'm sure my old store hosted one since we were the biggest volume store other than the galleria.
Shiz how many people on this thread are from Houston? I live next to the Galleria. I guess I should stop by PZ more.
Anybody got some ideas for Abel? From what I've gleaned so far a large part of his setups depend on his crouching fierce, using the wheel kick or roll to close distance.. should I just practice rolling and then chaining right into the fierce or what? What other options do I have as this guy?
I like the character and his move set but I get tooled every time I play as him since his normals just don't seem to be that great.. big startup times on lots of them. I don't know how to cope with guys playing footsie with him.
Hey, whoever I was just playing, sorry for bailing. My projector is acting weird right now---it turned off in the middle of that last round so I let it play out and then attempted to turn off the system. I think it just quit the game though.
Also, I'm terrible at charge characters. I think of all the years I've been playing fighting names, the amount of times I've managed to do a flash kick is probably barely in the double digits.
I have been doing some experimentation with switching around the buttons on my controller, but it seems to be a process that tends to go one step forward and two steps back. I would love making it easier to get to my 3k/3p button, but if I switch it with my hard punch/kick, those become harder to use---and at least with C. Viper they're both pretty important. I did switch around my face buttons so I could do the two button press easier (buttons diagonal from each other) but in doing so I made my charge attack harder to get to (square/triangle).
I almost feel like I have to decide which one I want to use more, because either way something is going to suffer.
Wow. A couple of matches with BonesNYC and my internal clock resets. I come back and clear Sakura's last two hard challenges in just under five minutes. After about an hour stuck on Challenge #4.
Damn.
Now clear:
Chun-Li
E.Honda
Blanka
Zangief
Guile
Dhalsim
Balrog
Vega
Sagat
M.Bison
Sakura
Akuma
Also cleared a couple more from Abel's and El Fuerte's lists. Next up: Dan.

Hey, I need to play your honda some more, it was great practice though i was all groggy and couldn't do my moves reliably :P
If I were you I'd just run a super long cable to your PS3. I have a 50 foot cable going through 2 rooms, of course it's just me and my bro living here so there are no women to nag us about it.

Oh and your sig gif is awesome.
A possibility for late night playing I guess. But no way my kid wouldn't wreak havoc with it mid day. Hopefully 50 foot cords aren't expensive. Going broke buying stuff just for this game.
As for a rematch I'll be on around 9 pacific tonight. If yer around we shall dance the dance of death.
Hah. I just beat that DarkSydePhil guy everyone was complaining about the other day. That felt pretty good.
oh god, i hope he posts a video of it... if he was recording he will though, I dont think he's one to not post something just because he lost, even if its due to some factor that actually exist.

Charge characters aren't that hard though.
Chances are you aren't holding for long enough and you're not pressing the button at the same time you press forward.

Awesome fights, Maraxus. I'm declaring you my rival. Let's meet in the tournament and see who's truly IN DEE STRUCTABLE!
I'm gonna cut that shammy in half.
Indeed, great fights! We need to do it again sometime, hopefully in the tourny. The Sham-wow can hold up to 15 times it's own weight in sharp objects, it cannot be cut in half! Now I gotta be a family man and let the family watch some videos through Miro streaming, I'm pretty sure that was what was causing the slowdown towards the end there.

Well, I can do across charge pretty well, but up charge I can't really do. Nor have I ever been able to do charge type moves without telegraphing it.
So how long do you guys typically wait after sending out an invite? On one hand, I don't want to wait forever if it turns out someone is just too busy to respond to a challenge, but I don't want to block them out because I got impatient and sent out 50 invites to others, either.
Okay, it's absolutely impossible for a Guile to throw you right in the middle of a low HK from Cammy, right? Please tell me that's some kind of exploit. This asshole's got like 3k BP and just spammed those throws no matter what I did.
Also, I have yet to come across an Akuma player that knows how to use him.
So, I decided to hold my own Street Fighter tournament. Not of players, but of characters. Went to Vs. Mode, CPU vs. CPU, set the difficulty to Hardest, best 2 of 3 rounds, single elimination:
I think CPU Zangief's SPD cheats. It usually bounces the opponent further away, but instead it acts like CPU Seth's SPD and drops the opponent right where they got piledriven. If Zangief has his back to the corner, they're right in front of him as they get up.

As much as this thread loves to hate on him, I got to give props for at least posting videos of him losing online.
Personally, I don't find his complaining all that out of line. I've probably said my share of retarded things in the heat of the moment. I'm sure he'd take back a few of the things he said after watching his own videos but meh. He makes himself pretty easy to hate so whatever.
(EDIT) btw, I usually wait ~5 minutes and I send invites out in pairs cause dashboard lag is LAME. So no sweat if you don't join my game, usually someone else will And if I don't join your game is likely because I'm already in game with a friend or PA'er.

Wow, Dan made it pretty far.
He knew just exactly when to Koryuken and landed a whole lot of kicks. He won the match against Guile with an on-reaction Koryuken to Guile's Ultra.

No, that's just the boss fight. Seth gets a bye right to the end to face the tournament winner. And still lost.
Also, the CPU doesn't really know to jump out of Akuma's ultra. Almost every round he landed it.
Ok...I'm pretty new to the SF4 game, but I grew up playing SF2 for the SNES. Anyways, I cannot, for the life of me, get through level 4 of the Trial mode with anyone. I have a lot of trouble pulling off supers/ultras, I never seem to be able to land those combos, and Fei-Long's Triple Rekkaken is pretty much impossible for me. Any tips/suggestions? I'm using a Dualshock 3, if that means anything.
So I just got this from GameFly, briefly checked the OP and couldn't find it so I wanted to know: how do I toggle the "Interrupt my attempts to unlock characters in arcade mode by joining me for a fight" option?
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, but I'm trying to get my characters (I'm looking at you Fei Long!) and not one much goes by without an interruption.
If you take the update when you first log in, it doesnt work anymore. Still, it's ridiculously easy to beat on Easiest. Jump in, high kick to sweep. Sweep kick when they stand up until dead. If you mess up, back up and start the jump in high kick again.

From the main menu hit the right bumper and you'll see the option in that menu.
Also if you want to unlock characters as fast as possible be sure you set the game to the easiest difficulty mode, which is "Easiest," not Easy, and not Very Easy.

Tonight is the first time I've thrown my controller in frustration.
