Additional note: Deacon, update the OP.

    Also, point them over to:

    instead of

I'm moving it to a new folder. The old xml feed will stick around for a while to redirect people to the new one...

I was definitely surprised at the fact that Half Life 2 got the number one spot. Felt like it was going to get overlooked because it's a PC game.

Although I haven't finished it yet, I know it deserves the number 1 spot.

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.

It's a PA poll. Not too surprising.

I'm no pro at understanding speech (especially when I can't see the speaker), but I find it really hard to understand the podcasts.

It seems like there's always >= 2 people talking at any given time.

I've PMed lightreaper asking to be a guest. I think I can bring lots and lost of cool stuff to the table. PSP angst, PSX, PS2, and and Final Fantasy Internals. (I'm the guy making the new FF7 engine) PSX history and Japanese culture. I was also part of that whole sony/connectix thing and I have stories I can share.

It's not so much gaming, but the insides. I think it'll be entertaining.

Not so quick. Seems like my knowledge of iTunes is lacking. The current one you are looking, under "Platformers Podcast", will probably be moved to a new one called "The Platformers", under the Games & Hobbies/Video Games section. I had to do a whole remove/submit process, so this might take a while for everything to work itself out.

I'm so, so tired of the Halo bashing. Other than that I'm really enjoying the podcast. The part about people's view of gaming was great.

It was an alright podcast there guys. I probably didn't enjoy it as much as previous episodes simply because a large portion was dedicated to old stuff like the GOTG (which was ok, probably would have liked some more discussion of the top five or something but whatever...) or the Halo bashi- erm... Xbox segment. (well to be fair you bashed Fable too :P)

Come to mention it the xbox segment was a little odd really. I'm unsure why it was there. I mean, if you guys wanted to do a retrospective of a console get a special guest in and dedicate an entire podcast to it. Or do an extra podcast on it or something. Just seemed a little small and tacked on to me.

And then there was Devil's advocate...

I'm going to be honest here. That segment I really disliked. It seemed like it was a segment devoted to a clusterfuck of stupid arguments. It was like every dumb argument you've heard a thousand times decided to make a cameo appearance and then they just went around in circles ad nasuem. Why even have a segment dedicated to such a stupid topic anyway? Debating something like that seems like such a waste of time.

Wow, I seem overly negative here (that's a change ), I can't help but give my honest opinions though, because I like the podcast (no really!) and I want to see it only get better (which it has been the last couple of weeks)

Anyway, keep up the good work. And you guys are doing a good job, don't get me wrong here.
    devil's advocate sucked though

The Halo bashing was kind of interesting since it didn't come from anyone I expected. Deacon and Sanius were pretty quiet about it, I called Halo the most important game for the system and the last few years in the industry, and really Lightreaper is annoyed by it. But Lightreaper cut his teeth on PC FPSes, so it stands to reason he wouldn't like most console FPSes.

Works perfectly for me. Just search for 'Platformers' in the iTunes music store.

edit: Gino - we don't just cover Platformers.
I think the point was that 3 out of the 4 can be considered platform games. and the name of the group is platformers. so metal gear seems out of place.

    on the nose.

    Anyways, good podcast guys.

also, there was insufficient hyperbolic praise of half-life 2

i mean you basically made up a bunch of reasons about how it pushed boundaries and how imran is silly for not playing it but sort of glossed over the fact that it is one of the most fun videogames to play ever
