Hard Drive for a MacBook?

I'm just all about Mac questions.

The next step of improving my MacBook entails getting a good, new hard drive for its belly. Something with a lot of room for the naked lady pictures and such. Anybody have any experience buying them? I'm not even totally sure what to look for when shopping around. The Mac in question is a 2.1 MacBook White from Feb. '08.

Any 2.5" SATA laptop hard drive should do the job. This is a good example of what would work.

One thing to consider is the speed of the drive. Slower RPMs (like the one I linked) will be cooler, quieter, and generally drain less battery than a faster (say, 7200rpm) drive, but will obviously be slightly slower.

that one would work, and yeah, you need to decide on the drive speed

when you do decide on one and go to install it, it's incredibly easy, and actually doesn't void your warranty as it will with some laptops. just take out the battery, unscrew the little gate around the RAM, pull out the old one, detach the casing, attach the casing to the new, slide it in, and reassemble. there's a pretty detailed PDF on apple's site, but it's a really simple process.

Yeah, replace the HD on a Macbook is fantastically easy. Much easier than replacing the screen (that was an adventure)

If issues with the screen pop up, I'll be visiting an Apple store.

    Thanks for the helpful advice!
