That really shouldn't happen. I know there is a zune app cache file somewhere that you can delete out (or uninstall out) that ought to help you log back in if something got stuck for some reason or another.
I had one for my Zune 80 from Incipio, black leather, and was very pleased with it (I treated that thing kind of rough).
I'm looking at their feather case, since it looks like it'd be minimally obstructive. It'll cover up inscription, but I didn't really buy my HD to show it off.

Heh! That's pretty funny and clever. Not as touching as the "For our Princess" that the HD has, but that's very clever. Good to see that the Zune department has a sense of humor.

I had the can't install version using Win 7 64 bit RC... what you need to do is download the exe from the microsoft site and run it in Vista compatibility mode. I think the first run it unpacks the files, so you might need to run the installer in compatibility mode after that step.

There is no update patch - so the zune software itself. Microsoft didn't test this update very well. Download the 4.2 zune software and just reinstall it in compatibility mode.

I do have to say, that people bitching about the advertising for games are overplaying it to a RIDICULOUS degree. I mean, 5 secs (10 TOPS) of an advert for a free game? Give me a f.kin break, guys.
What I dont get is these were in the zune 30, why is there complaints now about it?
Id prefer to see more dynamic adds, ones that update when you sync, or at least know that you already have a zune pass so they dont show you an advert for it.
Personally, Id just like the ability for other people to start adding their XNA apps to the marketplace for the zune so we can get some program diversity.

Just wanted to mention that I've seen reports that the new Zune update requires an Update that wasn't released for the Win 7 RC, hence the issues running it outside compatibility mode.

That explains a couple things.
I just snagged a copy of 7 Professional, 64-bit, for the cheap (well, not that cheap, but $100 cheaper) because of the "Student Steal" event.
So I guess I'm clear whenever my new HDD comes in. That sucks for people with the RC though.
$190 for 16gig, $250 for 32gig. Anyone on the fence now might want to jump at this because it isn't known how long these prices will last.

My 120 is starting to crap out, and that means it's time for a replacement! Yay, an excuse to get an HD! Too bad that Amazon and the Zune store both refuse to ship to my (APO) address. Newegg is having the same deal, so if they can't do it, off to eBay I go.

Its actually pretty easy to manage it. Get the zunepass. Download whatever the hell you want, and sync what you want. You can cut a lot of room in your device by not syncing every single song from every single album. OTOH, the SmartDJ stuff coming in spring will alleviate this further as it will start pulling songs out from wifi as needed to maek playlist.

They haven't released the specifics. That being said, it works right now on my PC with my own collection just fine.
SmartDJ on the Zune I assume will ask you to enable wifi if it isn't already under settings, and then attempt to connect to the information super highway to better populate your playlist but it probably won't be necessary.
Pretty much: "Oh, hey. You want a playlist for Dark Punk. Sure. You got wifi going? No? That's okay, here you are- enjoy!"

First, the facebook app is coming in February. No surprise that it was pushed back again.
Next up, seems like the Zune isn't the only device that could be connected to the Zune Software. MS's Pink phones will be able to as well it seems.
Also, when other parts of the world get their hands on a Zune- it might just be a phone too.
