Is it possible to create a folder full of images, where the following can occur?

• Images in the folder can be publicly posted on other sites (forums mostly)
• The folder's contents are not browse-able to the public.
• *I* am allowed to browse through the folder if I want to, through a browser.

Initially I figured this could involve some kind of password protection, but I'm not sure how I'd be able to set that up to allow the above.

Any ideas?

If this is confusing at all, I can clarify a bit. Thanks! :)

Photobucket does exactly that if you turn off guest passes. Unless you're storing loads of porno.

I may be slightly wrong here, but I believe this is also doable with Unix permissions if you have experience with that. You would give the world execute permissions but not read permissions on the folder, read permissions on the images, and give yourself full permissions on the folder and images.

Well, it turns out that somebody in the AC is helping me out and writing me up some PHP that looks like it'll do just what I need.

    Thanks, though! :)
