Think I'm gonna start this. Seems like an interesting game.
I've read a bunch of the stuff, gonna go Firefighter and grab hand to hand and free running right off, obviously. Are there certain skills you guys need at the moment, once I'm done with that? And whats a good way to level? I saw something about smacking/healing fellow humans, is this accepted as okay? Don't want to piss off a random person.
Smacking other humans is not only frowned upon, but also isn't nearly as good as smacking zombies. Each hit you get an xp amount that equals how much damage you do. In PvP situations (human-human, zombie-zombie) that xp is divided in half and then rounded down. So right now with your axe if you attack a zombie you get 3 xp per hit. If you attacked a human you'd get 1.
I meant smacking them and then healing the damage, getting xp for doing both so you don't do actual harm. Although I guess a smack followed by a heal would get you 6 xp, same as smacking a zombie twice. So besides the action points used to find the first aid kit and using a perfectly good first aid kit... you're not hurting the zombies anyway. So nevermind.

My point with the maths is that you get better xp smacking zombies and enough of us get injured to where FAK's can always be used.

Hey guys, just joined this game and it looks llike a lot of fun. I'm currently tring to get over to the WANG hq, but it might take me a bit. I started in roachtown, so it's gonna be a while.
So, second day in the game... hacked down my second zombie with my trusted axe, was able to pick up the free running skill and have started making my way towards Scarletwood (it's much nicer being able to hop from building to building!). I'm currently in some random (hopefully secure) bulding in Kinch Heights. I imagine I should be able to make it to everyone else within the next day or two (barring any unforeseen zombie problems).
Are St. Telesphorous or St. Spyridon open to those without free running (Very Strongly Barricaded or lower)? I don't want to waste my AP again running down to find out, if someone already knows. Last I checked, Spyridon was inaccessible and Telesphorous had 6 zombies in front of it.

They were both EHB (as in you'd need Free Running) about 8 hours ago.

I wonder how pissed the current occupants will be if we lower them back down to VSB?

Who cares, we follow the barricade plan here in scarlet. Anyone violating it has 24 hours notice.
edit: only exception being Zed attacks.
edit2: PK'ers as well as terrorzeds (zed groups who get revives on purpose to overbarricade resource buildings and kill generators) like to overbarricade to harass the tenants of said building.
edit3: posted this in the DF thread by mistake earlier 8-) When does the IP Hit counter reset anyhow? I managed to hit it earlier today by showing two friends Urban Dead.. and now I can't search for more shells for my newly found shotgun

Just use an IP Proxy, that's what I did when I hit the limit.
Construction and all the NecroTech skills are awesome to have.
You basically described my current skills situation. I have been building up the non-combatant skills, not because I don't like fighting... mainly because they are the most useful and increase your survivability twofold.

I just revived someone at Ledward, not sure who it was but they seemed fresh. I don't particularly care if they were WANG, exp is exp. I figured I would let you all know in case it was someone here.

We sprang into being, settled in Scarletwood, started the WANG Radio Network featuring Too Dong (or something like that), and have opened up diplomatic relations with our neighbor, Garniss Border Patrol.
I think it's time for me to finally head to Scarletwood. I started off way north in Rhodenbank and figured I would level up till at least Free Running and Hand to Hand training, but there seems to be a lot of chaotic fighting going on here amongst the survivors. It doesn't feel particularly safe anymore.
I just did a quick NecroNet scan and there are only 3* zombies in the 9x9 area around 78-84(Thompson Building NT)
76-85(Ledward) I just revived this one.
81-81(Remigius General Hospital)
82-81(Club Barling)
*Only recently(24hrs) scanned zombies will show up.

* A zombie brought down the last of the barricades. (3 minutes ago)
* You heard a loud groaning from very close by. (2 minutes ago)
This is St Telesphorus by the way.
My AP should be fairly high. I'll go down there and do what I can to heal anybody getting injured, but I'll have to search for some medpacks first.
(edit) Inside Telesphorus with 13 AP and 6 medpacks. No one's critically injured according to Diagnosis, so speak up here with your name if you need healing for an infection.
There is one zombie inside the structure itself; if anyone's awake with some AP, might be a good idea to kill it and dump it outside, along with rebarricading the building.
(edit edit) apparently the Telesphorus generator is running low on fuel, if anybody's got some of that and can skitter over here.

Oh shit.
I'm in Randallbank right now, and I just passed out outside a police station that was for some reason EBH.

One of the survivors (USSR FOREVER) inside St. Telesphorus was killed by the zombie. xaosvitae lost 31 hp, but I've healed him back to 29 and cured his infection. None of the people inside are grouped as WANG, so I don't know if any of you are in here, but Telesphorus is back to "Heavily Barricaded" -- only problem is, the zombie's still in here.
Yeah, I was just killed, so if someone could come to the Rookey Arms in Randallbank [60, 37] and help me out sometime soon, that would be super.
I hate to break it to you, but you're nowhere near us. We're down in Scarletwood -- about 6 city districts away.
As a means for comparison, it takes about a full day's worth of AP to move 2-3 city districts.
You're better off standing up and looking for something to chow brains on, as you mosey your way down here. It'll get you some XP, at least.
Damn, I was hoping that there was someone in my general area.
I mean, I can't speak for everyone in this thread; there might, on an off chance, be someone. But I wouldn't count on it.
Try being a zombie for a while; have some fun with it. Maybe someone will resurrect you. Hmm... let me look at the maps. I might be able to find a revive point for you.
There's a map of the entire district down at the bottom of this page. The city blocks marked with "RP" are Revive Points -- places generally understood to be where zombies can go to get revived. No guarantee of anybody's availability, but maybe you'll get a samaritan wandering by. The only two RPs I see in Randallbank are up in the central north section. It'll take you out of your way, so it's up to you whether you want to shamble on further down or go up there and hope for a rez.
You might be better off looking at other maps and seeing if there's a RP more conveniently in your path towards Scarletwood, in another city district.
Ahh, they call them 'Suburbs', not city districts. Here's a map of all the suburbs. You're up sorta northeast, while we're in the southeast.
Note that each Suburb is 10x10 in terms of individual city blocks, so it would take you a minimum of 60 moves to get to Scarletwood. I think basic ol' zombies need 2 ap per move, so you might want to look at the suburbs on your path to Scarletwood and see if you can find a convenient revive point.
(edit edit) Ah, yeah, there's an RP almost directly in your path, in the northwest corner of Pimbank, which is the suburb south of Randallbank. It's "a junkyard", on this map:

If you get the Toolbar linked in the OP you can make a DEM Revive request from anywhere in game. Got a revive within 3 hours using it just 2 nights ago, in the middle of the night EST. So its worth a try if you dont want to zed out for a bit.
if you DO decide to zed out, get ankle grasp, 1ap to stand up (6ap if headshotted) super useful for everyone to have.
Just a question for your convenience... As ive got brain rot, can you see that and know not to try to bring me back? Like, when i camp here am i diluting the rescueable zeds and making you possibly waste syringes? I can always shamble elsewhere.
(I do want to join you guys if i can get my level 43 dude revived. Ive been out scouting and entertaining myself as a zed, but i came back to your revive point for a bit, as i got me face shotgunned again and im bleeding profusely.)
Also, i could have sworn i got res'd once outside of an Ntech while having brain rot. I thought it just lowered the chances of coming back. I guess not though?

As a reminder to everyone, the group name is We Are Nice Guys, NOT WANG.
Add that to the OP.
It wasn't meant for you specifically, but I've noticed it on a couple of people's profiles, and your post reminded me.
Alright, and by the way, my name is the same on UD as it it is here.
